Chapter 16: Holy magician Book

Du Bai's suspicion was justified, as Jin had previously asked him for the hermit herb in exchange for his help in establishing a contract with his devil. However, Du Bai had a bad habit of being talkative and overreacting. Before he could hear the answer to his question, he began whining about his luck while embracing the book on his chest.

"How can you do this to me? I thought we were friends? I can't buy it, and I can't give it up after having it in my hands. Why are you this mean? You know very well that even if I sold my body, I wouldn't be able to pay for this book."

Jin couldn't help but facepalm when he heard Du Bai's words. He had no intention of taking anything in return for the book, they went out on this mission together, and he saw Du Bai doing his best to get the hermit herb for him.

But when Jin saw Du Bai hugging the book with such a sad expression on his face, he wanted to tease him.

"Selling your body? Not a bad idea, I'll help you do it."

Jin threw his dagger in Du Bai's direction lightly, when Du Bai grabbed it and touched it, the magic circle drawn on the dagger flashed.

Du Bai retreated a few steps while coughing. He could feel his body boiling from the heat. Then white smoke started surrounding his body. Du Bai looked at himself in shock and crazily screamed after the smoke disappeared.

"Ahhh... what have you done to my body? You've turned me into a girl."

Du Bai's look was now identical to Artesia, the ponytail girl, and even his clothes had changed with his looks.

"You look pretty now. If you sell your body now, it will cover the cost of the skill book. What do you say?" Jin complimented him with a sarcastic smile on his face.

Du Bai's eyes, which had become large and beautiful, were red with anger. He started to shout with his feminine voice while hugging the book even harder.

"I'm going to kill you bastard. Why did you do this to me? I'm going to break your bones. I won't live the rest of my life as a girl."

Jin could barely keep a smile from appearing on his face when he saw Du Bai screaming in anger. Yet, despite Du Bai's anger, he still talked nonstop and hugged the book so tightly. He didn't even negotiate with Jin about returning him back to a boy if he returned the book to Jin.

It didn't take long before Du Bai threw the dagger from his hand to the ground in anger. However, his body returned to normal when he did so while Jin burst out laughing while holding his stomach.

“Did you really believe that you have become a girl? It’s just illusion magic. I drew it on the dagger to use it for camouflage, and stop hugging the book like that, it won’t fly out of your hands, plus I won’t ask you for anything in return.”

It never comes to Du Bai's mind that Jin was messing with him. This was because the illusion seemed so real.

The illusion magic seemed real because it wasn't just simple illusion magic. It was first-class magic. Once you obtain the blood of the person you want to disguise as, you will appear in their appearance and speak in their voice.

Du Bai was already angry that Jin had fooled him, but he didn't dare to do anything because he feared losing his dear book and grimly said.

"I will tell your mother everything, and she will take my revenge.”

Jin suddenly froze when he heard Du Bai's words. If Du Bai told her, she would start blaming him for at least a whole day, and he wouldn't be able to eat her cook.

He quickly takes out two spiritual pills to satisfy Du Bai.

“I forgot to give you this. You can exchange them for the essence of third-level monsters. It will be useful for you to break through into the soul realm, but don’t tell my mother anything.”

Seeing the two pills, Du Bai jumped up to snatch them from Jin's hand.

"Thank you, brother. I didn't expect you to be a magician. You are amazing. Magicians are rare in our kingdom, but you still have to tell me how you managed to get all this when we get back. Let's hurry back; I want to take a bath.. bath.. bath."

Du Bai kept repeating the same word, his looks turning strange, while he stared at the magic circle drawn on the dagger in Jin's hand.

Jin was surprised to see Du Bai's expression changed, and before he could ask him what was going on with him, Du Bai spoke with a strange expression on his face.

“Can I borrow the dagger for a moment?”

"Get away from me, you pervert," Jin said as he started walking away.

------------------------------

After Jin returned home, he closed his room door and took out everything he had obtained in the past few days.

He had obtained from Munro's house 100,000 silver and three medium-skill books. One of them can be upgraded to advanced skills and was suitable for girls, so he decided to give it to Mai.

From the Hidden Ruins, he obtained four wooden beads, but he did not know their purpose, two spiritual pills and two books, in addition to the imperial sword and the hermit herb. Although the sword could be sold for a good amount, he preferred not to sell it now. Since he had yet to form his spirit form and was still in the Evolution realm, he could use the sword without being damaged. It would be good temporary protection, and the spiritual pills would help him raise his realm later.

As for the two books, one of them is a medium offensive skill called Explosive Punch, which would be a very good skill to use with his only defensive skill, Autumn Leaf skill. The other book was untitled, and after reading it for some time, he realized that the book had been put together in the wrong order. So he disassembled the book and rearranged its page. He got shocked when he read the first page written in one sentence.

*Physical Reconstruction Magical Spells* Written By the Holy Wizard

Jin's eyes widened when he read the title of the book.

“That’s impossible! It’s a magic book written by a holy magician-rank which allows a person to reconstruct their physique body.”

Jin did not raise his head from the book. He was thinking that getting this book was more than just a coincidence. This magic contained a condition that he might be the only one in the world that could satisfy it, so he started reading in shock.

“The body is the vessel of the soul, and any attempt to modify it will lead to the destruction of the spirit’s form, but if a person is in the middle of the evolving realm and his spirit form has yet to be formed, he must temporarily separate his soul from his body, and this will result in a slight change in the person’s physical structure, and to support this you must use the magic registered in this book to modify the blood and cells to increase the strength of the body, gain immunity and strong defense.”

Jin squeezed his brain to remember all the details of his living in this body. He must be one hundred percent sure if he wants to use this technique.

A technique for separating the soul from the body, there is no doubt that he is talking about a forbidden technique. He had previously used a similar technique when he killed the Plague. He remembers very well that the soul that used to inhabit this body disappeared in front of his eyes after going back in time. For minutes the body remained motionless before his soul merged with this body. There is no doubt; his body fits the requirements. Jin got excited about it, but his joy was not complete when he reached the second page of the book.

Studying magic circles of this level is very difficult for a beginner magician like Jin. Although his mana control is excellent, and he masters many magic circles outperforming his peers, he is not that good to understand a book written by a holy magician. In the end, he had no choice but to surrender temporarily.

“Damn it. It is impossible for me to perform a magic circle of this level. I will need the help of a great mage.”

He was silent for a moment before he was surprised.

"A great magician? What's going on with me? How is it possible that all these coincidences meet at once, and on the same day, is it possible that this holy magician can see the future?"

Jin's shock was justified. How is it possible for a book of this strength to fall into his hand, with conditions that apply only to him with the presence of a great magician who happened to be his guest today?
