Chapter 7: Captured

Chapter 7: Captured

Without even thinking about cleaning the blood off of his body, Kain headed straight for the village. It wasn’t Kain’s first time killing a beast as living on this planet made everyone virtually a killer in some shape or form. But it was his first time killing such a strong beast. Even in the most powerful of towns in this planet, that beast would be considered a nightmare.

This beast was known as the Two-headed Reaper Wolf. If you looked into its eyes, you would be faced with multiple visions and images of your own death. All of these visions and images would be gruesome to see and would cause mental trauma to most who saw them.

Kain was no exception as he kept having flashbacks to his “deaths” that happened. He trudged on toward the village in order to rest there. He kept hearing howls behind him. They were the other wolves that had been following under the Two-headed Reaper Wolf. Although their leader was gone, their hunger was not. They were a considerable distance away but they would quickly set their eyes on Kain’s body if he didn’t hurry up.

The mental strain on Kain was too much however and his vision kept on swimming and going dark at times. He coughed up a mouthful of blood before falling to a knee. He clenched his teeth and got back up to walk again. He forced himself to keep on walking.

‘I have to make it back to my family. They need to be protected and with this strength of mine we can prosper and live a peaceful life together. I can maybe even teach them so that they can live peacefully on their own.’ Kain thought to himself as he walked slowly along.

But it was in this moment that his mind succumbed to the mental strain that he was working through. His eyes went blank in an instant and he collapsed to the ground with a thud. He was still conscious but he couldn’t move his body anymore. His vision was pitch black but he could hear faint noises of howls in the background. It was hard to discern but it also sounded like human howling as well. Soon he passed out from the strain on his mind.

‘Oww… What is this? Where am I?’ Kain thought to himself. His vision was still dark but he could tell that it was gradually getting brighter. Soon he was able to see that he was in a room laying down on a bed. His head was filled with sharp pain and he occasionally got an image or vision of his death. This time he was drowning in a pool of blood that came from his throat being slit open.

Kain managed to open his eyes fully and could finally see where he was. It was a dark room that was filled with many different objects. Some of them sharp some of them dull but all of them rusted. They were all made from a cheap metal of some kind and either hung on the wall or on the floor.

Kain looked out the corner of his eye and found that there was a table with more tools on it. It was at this point that Kain found out that he was laying on a really cold bed and that it was hard. He tried to move to find out why but found out that he was restrained by some kind of rope.

His eyes went wide as he struggled to free himself from these restraints but to no avail. He laid there huffing thinking of ways of how he could escape when suddenly somebody walked in.

Thud. Thud. Thud.

The sounds of the footsteps obviously proved that this person was wearing heavy boots. Soon the person stopped in place. “How nice… Now we can begin.”

Kain couldn’t see this person but he could feel the eyes of that person survey his body from head to toe. It made for a real creepy feeling for him. But he also felt a real sense of danger arising within him.
