Family

"Hicc...Deus... you can never leave us again," Lilian cried on my shoulder.

"Don't worry. I don't plan on going anywhere anytime soon," I replied, stroking her hair.

"Lilian, I know that I hurt you guys when I left, and I'm sorry, but you know I had to right," I spoke in a soft voice.

"We know Deus, but it still hurt, so don't even think about it again,"

"I know. Now, let's get going. I should talk to everyone else," I said, standing up.

"Brother, you should change first," Lilian said, looking at my clothing.

"You're right; now that I have my body back, these clothes won't fit," I said, looking at my shrunken clothing.

"Well, I'm so sorry that I wasn't 6'4," another voice spoke.

Hearing the voice, both Lilian and I turned around to see a boy near my age sitting on a chair, smoking a cigar.

"Who the hell are you," Lilian asked, creating an orb of purple energy in her hand.

"Don't worry, Lilian, that's Victor; he is a ghost," I said, looking at Victor.

"Wait, wasn't Victor the name you used when you lost your memory?" Lilian asked

"Yeah, and before you ask, I don't know why I'm here," Victor spoke, walking through my sister and standing before me.

"I will figure something out; I don't know why the spell turned you into a ghost," I said, rubbing my head.

"Let's just go meet my...our family. I'm sure they have a lot of questions," I responded, walking toward my closet.

"I will go wait with them, Brother," Lilian said, walking out of the room.

Once Lilian left, I activated a sound barrier and turned to face Victor.

"This is bullshit," he said, sitting on the bed.

"Well, what do you want me to do? I'm already freaked out knowing that we are both the same person," I replied

"At least you have a fucking body," Victor yelled back.

"Don't worry, according to the system, when you select a body, it will become your own; I will find the strongest corpse I can for you," I replied, changing my clothes.

"Speaking of the system, how much did it change from when you had it before?" Victor asked

"It changed a lot; I haven't seen some of these features before. To make it worse, our experience is shared, so leveling up will become harder," I said, opening the system.

"I mean, I got some pretty good skills," Victor said, looking at his screen.

"Since you got the gun mastery skill, you can use this. I will keep the sword," I said, handing Victor my revolver.

Placing our weapons in the inventory, we left the room and made our way to the throne room. After a few minutes, we arrived at the large golden doors. Walking up to the statues, I spoke the spell to command them.

"Apertus..."

Before I could finish, Victor grabbed me by the arm, and we walked through the door.

"I can also make the things I touch intangible," Victor explained.

"That's very convenient," I replied

Walking up to the middle of the room, we were met by my mother sitting on her throne and my sisters standing next to her. When they saw me, I could see all their faces widen into a slime with watery eyes.

"You look just like your father when he was younger," my mother said with a smile.

"I'm glad you're back, brother," my older sister Maria said, giving me a hug.

"As am I, Maria," I said, hugging her back.

After breaking our hug, I was tackled by my younger sister, Anna, who only cried in my arms. After a few minutes of comforting her, she finally broke our hug and wiped her tears.

"Welcome back, brother," Anna spoke in a low voice.

"Good to be back. I have missed all of you," I replied

"Deus, I know you are happy to see your sisters, but who is he...he looks like that boy you were before you drank my blood," my mother asked.

"Yeah, this is Victor, I guess you can call him...my twin," I said

"I know you have a lot of questions, but we don't have the answers. To put it simply, we are both the same person, just two different bodies," Victor explained.

"...Wait, does that mean we have two brothers now?" Lilian asked

"I guess you can put it that way," Victor replied

"I see. So not only did I get my son back, but I also got another one," my mother said, walking up to both of us.

After giving me a small hug, she went to give Victor a hug but was surprised when she passed right through him.

"Oh yeah, Victor is also a ghost, so we need to find him a body," I said, rubbing my neck.

"Surprising but okay, I will have Valek find him the best body," our mother replied.
