The trip to the doctor’s clinic was actually quite nice. It was quick but not rushed. The nurses were nice too. They were sweet and didn’t judge.
The only thing that was a bit weird was the new antidepressants.
The GP told him that he could trial a new type of medication. They said it worked better than the others, releasing a more efficient rush of endorphins, and it even helped slow neurons down, helping people with ADHD. It also helped with anxiety by helping calm down the amygdala and midbrain, and it helps with PTSD by helping the Hippocampus block out bad memories.
This was good, as he suffered from ADHD, depression, anxiety and PTSD. A full package.
At first it made him nervous, then he leant that two other people had taken the drug and there were only positive side effects reported from them.
The doctor assured that if something bad happened when on the medication, he would get a full refund.
By the time he had left the clinic, the sun was setting.
The young man walked around, exploring streets as he went. He knew these streets well, considering he walked them pretty much every night. He didn’t get much sleep because of this, but he was fine with that.
Stolen story; please report.
The longer he walked, the further the Sun set into the darkening sky.
Maybe he could cross the bridge to the forest. It was always gorgeous there at night, but he knew there was also dangers.
After he made his mind up, he set off in the direction of St John’s Bridge.
While he was walking, he gazed up at the sky. The sun had fully set by now, leaving behind a vantablack color in the sky.
It must’ve been a cloudy night because there wasn’t a star in sight. The sky was completely star-less.
Then he realised with a jolt, he couldn’t see the moon either.
This struck him as odd, but he just shrugged it off.
A cold whisp of wind sent a shiver up his spine. His hands dug into his pockets. He suddenly regretted not wearing a hoodie.
He was halfway through grabbing a jumper from his bag as he walked past a small pathway.
Thats when he smelt it. It was absolutely rancid.
The stench was a mix between a rotting corpse and boiled eggs.
It made him gag.
As he pinched his noise, a noise came from further down the path.
He peered into the darkness, searching for the source of the noise.
To his utter shock, two glowing yellow eyes the size of basketballs glared back at him.
Before he could react, the creature lunged at him, razor-sharp teeth gleaming under the streetlight glow, pointed claws outstretched.
