The Past, and Future

The Past, and Future

Not long after, they suggested we went to get another quest. I was looking forward to training that day, but this can show me how weak or powerful my teammates are.

As we ventured back to the guild, once again. My large sheathed blade slammed against the roof of the door. Causing everyone to look back, and keep looking?

I guess seeing me with a guild was certainly surprising. I was a loner, after all. As we walked to the counter, Ugene put a paper to the table. "We'd like a Diamond ranked quest, please." He said.

Ugene, like me; was a normal human, and he was fairly tall, 5'9. Phyhn was a dwarf, and was about 5'0.

The Elf lady was confused, "Diamond rank? Sir, only the Beast Slayer is a Diamond rank. You're an Amythest, Phyhn's a Ruby, and Ahma is a Emerald. Only Ahma and he is fit to have a quest like that." She explained.

Ugene simply sighed, "Let us have this." He told her quietly. She grunted angrily, and pulled a paper out of a cabinet. She slammed it to the desk. "There! Slay 10 Minotaur." She said.

She forgot again, the Floor Level. But, before I could ask. "What about the Floor Level?-" Phyhn asked, Yui was caught off guard with that, grabbed the paper again. "Floor Level 78." She continued.

Ugene and Phyhn's eyes widened, "Floor Level 78?!" She said, "Yes." Yui said right after. I simply grabbed the paper. The more challenging Floor Level's to me were 90-120. Plus, Minotaur's aren't that hard to kill, guess Ahma already knows that.

Phyhn was practically crying for her life, Ugene had already accepted this might be life-threatening. Me and Ahma, where pretty chill about it, except he was bragging about it.

"We're bouta kick those giant's asses!" She screamed. "I don't know about that, only Seijuro here considers killing Minotaurs as a breeze, isn't that right?" Ugene had asked me. I remained quiet, but shook my head yes.

Phyhn noticed my silence, and wanted to ask about it, I could tell. But, she struggled about it. So, in the end, she just made little peep noises.

We walked to the Dungeon, and showed the paper to the man. He grabbed it, looked at it. And press a button, the elevator door went from 1-78. I gulped, I hadn't been in a 70+ level in a while, but that's because of my harsh training.

Walking to the elevator, we entered it. Hypersonic speeds upwards, Phyhn was screaming. And Ugene was struggling to keep his shiny glasses on. Ahma thought it was fun, "WHOO!!" She screamed out of happiness. "Are you crazy?! This is scary!!" Phyhn yelled at Ahma. She hung onto me, but I remained silent. I guess someone relying on me to 'protect' them is cool.

As the speed stopped, we looked at the room-door, 78. Everyone was sweating, except me. I flung the door open, grabbed my blade, and instead of little critters. There were monsters, tall and large.

I steadied my blade, and switched to two-handed. "Ragnarok, lead my battle," I said silently. Ahma grabbed her blade, it was a short Tanto. Had a lot of green and pink in it, the handle was full pink aswell. Ugene cracked his knuckles, and his body began to release a scary aura, it was white.

And, Phyhn.. She grabbed a wand, and began chanting something. Showing nothing that was offensive, instead, she granted us with a force field whilst fighting. A healer, huh? Interesting..We faced the 50x50 meter room, and stood quiet. Drips of water, and then, in a seconds flash.

Various monsters lashed out at us, Ahma jumped into the air, and sliced her blade several times, but the slash didn't actually move, they stood in midair.. "RELEASE!" She screamed, several slices shot at the creatures at subsonic speeds, slicing them to mincemeat.

It was a interesting and effective magical ability. I used my sword, and ran head-on. I sliced a creature away, twisted my blade, switching to one-hand, and did a 360 decapitation slice. The blood stains got red on my blade, my black cape waved around in the air.

Staring for more enemies, I realised one of the monsters I sliced away, was a minotaur. Slashing his horn off using my dagger, I looked up to my guild.

Ugene was easily taking out the creatures, his magical ability was superhuman features, I believe. He jumped high into the air, and pounced onto a group of beasts, he threw his fist, the wind was strong enough for them to vomit blood and with a swift kick, the head was good as gone. He did various moves, some of them even looked like he was break-dancing.

I heard a monstrous growl, but I was too late to move, and was striked to the ground. But, that didn't stop me. I grabbed my blade, lifted it to the air, and sliced the beast's jaw away. It held it and began screaming, but those screams didn't last long.

I stood on the corpse of my enemy, grabbing his horns. I looked back to my team, "How many horns you have?" I asked calmy, but it was also loud. "We got 3, you?!" Ugene shouted back, but paused at some point to kill another one. "I have two." I answered, sprinting back to them.

Phyhn was constantly doing spells to have force fields around us, but then. She fell to the ground, blood spreading across her face. A large minotaur with a.. blade? It raised over it, the biggest one I've ever seen in my life.

I sprinted to Phyhn, grabbed her small cape and threw her to the group to protect her. Dashing towards the beast, I roll-dodged one of his strikes, and clashed our blades. The drool came out it's mouth, and it had lit up red eyes.

"Disgusting." I uttered, my blade shot open with thunder, ceasing my enemy from moving for a good minute. I grabbed my blade two-handed, and sliced across it's chest. It was barely bleeding.

I jumped back, and he grabbed his blade, striking it. The force, the pure force was enough to knock some wind out of me and blow other creatures away. I stabbed my blade into the harsh ground to stop my flying.

Looking up at this beast, I took my sword out of the ground, and it caught up with thunder. I shot towards him, slicing his arm off, the thunder spread across his body.

I dodged another slice, and sliced upwards as I dunked, the blade crossed over his gut to his chin. I was wide open, but didn't care. His next slice was damaging, but that's what I'm built for. I was simply lashed backwards.

As I grabbed my blade, huffing as I held it. A large barrage of slices screamed into the back of the Minotaur, blood spilling from his back, Ahma? "Thanks." I said quietly. Running towards the distracted Minotaur, and beheading him.

All of that, for only one horn. I looked to my team, "I have 3, you?" I asked again, "We got 6!" She screamed, one more.. I looked around feverishly. I was done with this floor, killing some creatures on my way. I found the last one, it suffered a bad death is all I will say.

We walked out 3 hours later with the Minotaur horns, putting it to the receptionist desk. She was fairly surprised, "There's no way you guys did that! Seijuro carried you guys, didn't he?" She asked, suspiciously.

Ahma smacked her fists together, "Nah! He only got 4, we got 6!" She said proudly. Not really should be that proud, however, Ugene got two, Ahma got three, and Phyhn got one using a small dagger while it was distracted.

I just scratched the back of my neck, we received 20 gold. Walking out of the guild, Ahma was spreading it out equally. But, then I declined any money. "I'm good." I said, "But ya helped us! Here, get some!" She said, pushing it.

I simply pushed the money away, "I have more than 10 times that of the gold we have now." I told her, "I'm good, give it to Phyhn, if it's not enough to treat her injuries." I told Ahma. She sighed deeply, and gave the gold to Phyhn.

Phyhn blushed slightly, "I-I- Thanks.." She said looking away from me, "Yeah, cool." I said, walking off. "Meet us again tomorrow, alright?!" Ahma screamed out to me, I simply nodded quietly.

Walking back to my cabin, I took off my jacket, hung up my blade and slid back into bed. "Rince, and repeat.." I thought to myself, before drifting off to sleep.

Holding his blade high into the sky, he screamed. "TO WAR MY BROTHEREN!"

My father was a very strong man, he fought against odds. He was a one-man army, I remember the screams of the villagers, and the flames erupting. I was a scared little child, we were 150 men short. The opposing army had thousands of men on their team.

You'd think we were good as dead, right? Not on my father's watch, he slew several hundred men and even caught the attention of the leader of the raid.

The Vampire Lord.. I don't know his name, as he never uttered it.. But, my father did. He knew the name nice and well. My father fought with the blade he called 'Skullcrash', a single slash from my father easily caught the vampire off guard.

Blood was split, and my father even lost an arm; but all he did was switch what arm he used his blade in. He had a neverending fuel of will-power.

A slice upwards, and the vampire dodged. He sulked backwards and twisted his blade, clashing with my fathers. A thunder shot blazed across the fields, and they shot towards each other again and again.

Fast as light, strong as steel, and as shift as a cat. My father was flawless when slicing the vampire lord. But, so was the vampire.

He did a backflip, and did a spin, creating a army of skeletal figures. Chasing my father so sliced them away in seconds. I witnessed this battle, he wanted me to stay behind him.So, when he got close and personal with the lord and was sliced on the chest and defeated. All I could do, was cry.

There, he pointed at a mirror. The same mirror I keep in my cabin, for memories. He told me what I will grow to be..

A monster, someone who can slice anything away like he once could. A carry and wear the armor my father wore, I hold the blade he held, and, I resemble him more than anything else.

My mother commited suicide not too long after his death, she said she couldn't handle it.But, she didn't see him die, I did. His warm blood in my hands, I held him. He died in front of a young child.

The past, is something I was told to put behind me. But, I never could, not after the man who killed my father was still alive.

"Boy.. How come you are still breathing? Oh, I see.. You're his son aren't you?" He asked me, I couldn't utter a word. My heart was pounding with fear.

The vampire lifted my chin, and smirked. That look in his eyes, I will never forget it. I saw, death.. And, opportunity. "I can tell.. One day, you'll grow just like him.. Tell you what, if you even dare to one day face me, I'll battle you with no hesitiation, to see if you were a mistake, or truly.. A slayer."

Ringed.. It ringed throughout my mind, he left me alone with my dead father. Disappeared into the mist, now that I remember.. His castle probably wasn't too far, but that was 6 years ago.. Who knows where he is now..

I woke up, once again. I got up, slid on a black shirt, and left my blade. Today, I'm just going to visit some old friends, make up for the past.

Walking towards the south, away from my village. I headed towards my hometown. It was several miles away, basically nothing to me.

About 30 minutes later, I made it. The town known as 'Euirol'. I smiled gently, it's been several years since I visited this place, walking across the streets. I looked towards a bar, opening the door. I sat down on a bench.

The store-owner instantly recogized me, "Oh! Seijuro, how're you?" He asked, "I'm doing fine, Soren." I answered, not coldly like usual. These people were basically family to me.

He walked to me and placed a giant beer bottle in front of my table, "This one's on the house, for an old friend!" He said smiling. I nodded, downing it. "How's the town, nowadays?" I asked, walking with him.

He smirked, "It's doin' actually pretty well since ya last visited, our economy has grown as well." Soren said, he turned around. Giving me a gourd-shaped bottle. "Call it a gift, it's filled with healing potion." He told me. I grabbed it and stashed it in my bag.

After I finished, I got ready to leave and explore. Soren patted my back, "Alright, Seijuro. See you later, it was nice seein' ya again." He said, I nodded. Heading off to my own way.

Walking across the village, some people knew me. And, thought of me as a legend.

But, to put it simple. If I sparred with my father now, he probably would've used 30% of his power to take me down. I was a fly compared to him, but that motivated me to become stronger.

Walking to a small house, it read 'AKIHAMA', Yes.. I remember this place. This is where I and my father lived together. I smiled, opening the door. I saw old paintings, photos, and even toys I used to play with.

I sat in a chair, admiring the old days. Now, my days were filled with blood and vengence. It filled my mind, but seeing this released everything.

I stood in there for hours, remembering everything. After I left, I decided it was a good time to leave, as I've already done everything I needed.

Walking back to my village, I walked into my cabin and sat on my bed. I was staring into nothing for a good minute, until I thought about my new guild team.

Getting up, I decided I'd visit them and maybe do a quest together, it'd be nice to know my newly found friends more.
