A lot of things has happened since the official hiatus update. All good things however. Maybe not for this story. So, I've shifted my focus from purely game dev to entrepreneurship. I'm creating something entirely unique that doesn't exist in concept anywhere else right now. Not too many spoilers, however, it does combine my day job, story writing, game development, video games, entrepreneurship - all in one. Literally a culmination of all my interests and skills into one concept.

I think this can be relevant for anyone who wants to learn...and follow a story / read a story at the same time in more ways than one. A recent idea to revamp my previous business idea into a completely story driven learning experience is really exciting. The learner becomes a character in a story and also has the ability to "enter other stories" in some sense. It combines concepts from a visual novels (interactive options, non-linear paths), video games, and professional training (focused on data, interviewing skills, telling your story) to employers. Really turns the concept of an "online coding/data boot camp" on its head. The amount of money these entities make is already disgusting for little value that provides to people who buy it.

For the foreseeable future, Datascension is and will be my main focus so that it can be a major source of income.
I still really want to complete this story, but also need to prioritize supporting my family and this is the best path forward for me. Originally I had foreseen and planned this story to be at minimum 3 million words, however, with the intersection of all my interests happening at Datascension, it's likely I'll try to find a detour to the conclusion of this story. Of course, early retirement is always possible if this company is eventually acquired by by a larger company 😉 which my business partners are confident of reaching 500 million+ valuation which is a lot for something self-funded, but that's a pipe dream for now. I'm also #overemployed and still in school, so basically working 80 hours a week at this point fully focused on career and professional development.

With that said, I've had year 1 and year 2 rewrite done for a while, which I planned to release all at once with entire rewrite done, but now it looks like my planned timeline has shifted, so it makes sense if I just post these now for anyone interested in reading them. I have no idea what the future will look like, but I won't have any status updates any more after this one until perhaps more rewrites are done. Will be posting the rewrites as EXTRAS for now to properly tag them. It would be jarring to read the rewrites then go to non-rewrite version. When all rewrites are done, will insert/replace old versions.
