The Secret Shop of the Gods
Chapter 1: Two Weeks Later

Chapter 1: Two Weeks Later

Working without feeling tired helped me out within the following two weeks. I am very productive in this whole half a month, and I don't make mistakes anymore like I am occasionally prone to.

All of my fatigue from a day quickly vanishes whenever I wake up on the next day. There is no lingering headache or soreness from my shoulders and my back. I always feel energetic when I start my day.

This has further proven that the Shop of the Gods was real!

During these two weeks, I visited the Shop to browsed more of their products. I found out something about the shop as I continue looking on their catalogues.

First is that every physical products that has an equivalent one in the real world costs lesser than the market price. Which means I can buy things cheaper there than simply looking for bargains on a market.

Second of all, every physical thing I buy at the Shop will be delivered to me the instant I leave the Shop.

As for the Shop itself, everytime I think of entering it, the world itself goes into a standstill. Time will move when I leave the Shop. I know because I try doing so while timing myself on the clock, and when I go back, not even a second had passed.

There is another thing I learned about the Shop within this two weeks I have been using their services. The Shop shows more of it's features as I purchase more things to them.

Teller told me about it. I haven't unlocked any of their additional services yet because I haven't met the requirements for it. Teller told me I will know when the time comes.

For now, I am busy checking our sales and writing up reports about it. My job is simply calculating everything and writing it comprehensively in a document, before submitting it to our database. I just have to look at the right numbers, and add it to my own excel sheets.

I have been doing this for three years now, so even if I'm not focusing on it so much, I can still do it quickly without making any mistakes. I became more efficient at it because I always woke up well-rested.

In the past, I would have been tired and frustrated because of this neverending mundane work. Sometimes our boss added some documents that weren't even part of our responsibilities when he felt like it, which adds to my frustrations at work.

Now, I just go along with the flow. I don't feel tired after all. If I simply let my mind wander and go on autopilot, the day will pass quickly and I'll be back to my home before I know it.

Really, buying my powers at half a million yen is so worth it!

----------------------------------------

"Thank you for your patronage!"

After Teller told me so, I simply blink and find myself sitting on my sofa. Just after realizing that I am back to my home, I heard the sound of ringing on my entrance.

I quickly stand up and walk to the front door. Opening it, I find a deliveryman carrying a box for me.

"Green Express Delivery. Are you Amano Tsukiko?" The man who looks younger than me asks.

"Yes."

"Great. Please sign here and we can be on our way." I quickly took the pen he offered and the paper where I have to sign my signature.

Hmm... I see. So it's Green Express Delivery now.

This is one of the things I discover while purchasing physical stuff in the Shop. It felt like the Shop itself had predicted what I would buy that after I came back to the real world, the delivery guys were already at my door waiting for my signature.

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

They also pick different delivery services like this one.

"This looks good." He nods before nodding to me. "Have a nice day, miss!"

"Right. Thanks for the delivery!"

After he left, I took my new item and closed my front door. When I got to my living room, I quickly took off its wrappings and then pulled the blocky item from within. It's a microwave.

With a cheap cost of 8,000 Yen, I got this microwave that looks brand new and sturdy looking. My old microwave was already broken, so I decided to purchase this one.

It wasn't the only thing I bought on the Shop. There was also the new light bulb, and the latest fashion magazines on my rack. I even managed to get a fast charger that was much cheaper than the one I formerly had.

Really, it's like I have a dedicated bargain sale market close to me. The only difference is that I don't need to make a trip and just order things within my mind.

I buy everything I need on the Shop like food, appliances, and even drinks. I am even thinking of buying a bundle of clothes. I think they also have something like that in their catalogue?

I got interrupted by my thoughts when I heard the sound of ringing on my phone. Taking it, I see it's a familiar number.

"Hello?"

["Oh! Tsukiko-chan! How are you there?"]

It's my mother, Amano Inari. Hearing her voice makes me happy.

"Oh, Okaasan! I am doing just fine! How about you all?"

["It's still the same. Farming potatoes and living the farm life."]

I felt a bit sad hearing that. They already said they didn't prefer the city life, but it's not like I can help it. Living in the province is hard. Everyday we have to wake up early and work the machine in the farm. If there is any problem with our trowers, or any farming tools we have, we have to do everything by hand.

Our family owns a small plot of land in Hokkaido. It came from our ancestors and has been inherited by my father's side for a long time now. They are a family of farmers through and through, and while most of the Amano family goes out to experience the world, there are those who has to inherit our family's land to continue our legacy for farming.

I don't really find the appeal of farming at all. Unlike my work right now, farming is just hard. We barely get enough profits from our crops, and there is not enough to relax at all. It's why I leave our province to find work in the city. To get more income to my family.

"... How about Yuji? Is he doing fine there?" Yuji is my brother, and he is the one who will inherit our family's farmlands.

["Of course. He's helping out with your father. Our farms are getting some variety now."]

"Oh, I heard you talk about that. He's adding cabbages and tomatoes there, right?"

["Yes. We got a new plot of land, and he said it will add to our income."]

Oh right... I heard last month they purchase another land after they got a minor windfall. A festival happened some time before that day, and they sold a lot which, along with their savings, gave them enough capital for another plot of land.

Yuji, my little brother, really likes the farm. I can't really understand it, but it doesn't matter. I'll support them behind the scenes while I work in this city.

We talked about a bit more, asking stuff like how were they or how am I. I haven't told them about the Shop yet, but I am considering doing so if I feel confident enough to reveal it.

["Okay, we already receive the money. But Tsukiko-chan, please take care of yourself too. We are very worried you are putting most of your earnings to us... I heard living in the city is expensive so..."]

"I am fine. I have enough money for this month to get by."

["... Okay. Have a nice day then, and take care of yourself."]

"You too, Okaasan."

I heard the familiar sound of the call dropping and then sighed.

That's right. I should stop wasting my time buying all this mundane stuff. It has been fun, but I also plan to help out my family, not just acquire all the conveniences to myself.

I put the microwave to the side while thinking of my next purchases.

... That's right. It's not like I can only buy powers. There is also this thing called talents, right?

If I buy a certain talent, can I use it to earn more money?

I should try that then!

----------------------------------------

"Welcome esteemed customer, what would you like to buy?" Teller greeted me after I entered the Shop.

"Please give me a list of talents that I can buy with my money."

"Of course."

After saying so, the digital panel appears on my vision showing only the talent section. I browsed through it, looking for something that I might be able to use to earn money.

The talent for pen spinning, the talent of hand standing, the talent to maintain balance on any position, the talent to catch a falling object on my blind spot, the talent to aim a bow properly, the talent to do frontal flip, the talent of properly doing a straight punch, the talent of exercising, the talent of organizing digital documents, the talent of sewing, the talent to understand the stock market, the talent of... wait.

Stock market! That's it!

If I can understand the stock market, I can rake the cash as quickly as possible! It's just a matter of buying stocks that are lower price, and selling it when it's value is high.

I need a higher understanding of that if I want to get a lot of money.

Hehehe... A plan is already forming in my mind!
