The Second Chance Was Given
Whispers of The Wind: A Journey Begins.

Whispers of The Wind: A Journey Begins.

The day after his first foray into the world of magic, Lawrence was brimming with new ideas and feelings. Loren noticed this change in his mood and decided that a walk in the fresh air was just what the little one needed.

The Hans family's garden was a magnificent place, where every element was meticulously planned and cared for. A path paved with light stones wound its way among blooming rose bushes and broad-leaved trees, creating secluded nooks and quiet alleys for reflection. As they walked, the sun broke through the dense tree canopies, lighting their path with golden rays.

- "Look, Lawrence, this is a camellia. It blooms in winter when most other plants are resting,"

Loren said softly, pointing to a lush bush.

Lawrence watched her every movement with interest, trying to catch every word she said.

- "And this is lavender. It not only looks beautiful but also emits a pleasant scent that attracts butterflies and bees. Its flowers can be used to make a soothing tea,"

Loren continued, gently touching the soft purple blooms.

- "La-van-der,"

Lawrence repeated quietly, trying to pronounce the word. He smiled, pleased that he could mimic her.

- "I'm already getting better at pronouncing words. Loren should conduct more of these educational excursions for me,"

Lawrence thought to himself.

Passing a bed of daisies, they stopped by a small pond where goldfish swam. Lawrence watched in awe as the light reflected off the water's surface, creating thousands of sparkling glints.

- "Did you know, water is also an element that mages can control? It can be gentle, like this pond, or powerful, like a river,"

Loren explained, watching his reaction.

- "Water..."

Lawrence mused, dipping his fingers into the cool water and watching the ripples spread from his touch.

- "Look, Lawrence,"

Loren called him over and gently ran her hand over the water's surface, eventually lifting it at face level to form a water orb.

- "Everything in this world is connected, Lawrence. Magic isn't just a way to do unusual things. It's a way to interact with the world, to understand its laws and harmony,"

Loren said quietly, sitting next to him by the pond's edge.

Lawrence nodded, taking her words seriously. He felt his understanding of the world deepening each day.

- "Lo-R-En Magician,"

Lawrence pronounced, looking into her eyes.

- "Wow! Yes, Lawrence, I am a magician. And you're getting good at talking!"

Loren replied with a joyful smile and winked at the little boy.

Their walk ended at the threshold of the house, where the sun was beginning to set. The air was filled with the scent of the blooming garden and the freshness of the evening cool. Loren picked up Lawrence and headed back inside. This day, filled with discoveries and new knowledge, gave him unforgettable experiences and strengthened his desire to learn more about magic.

- "I enjoyed today with you, Lawrence. You were very attentive and curious. Keep it up!"

Loren said as they walked along the stone path to the house.

Clutching her shoulders, Lawrence smiled back and looked at the garden slowly sinking into the twilight. The leaves of the trees softly rustled in the wind, creating a soothing melody that complemented the evening idyll.

As they entered the house, the warmth and light from inside seemed especially welcoming after their long walk in the fresh air. Loren carefully set Lawrence down, and he, feeling more confident, crawled toward the library. "Now that we're back, you can play a little while I go help Mom prepare our dinner," Loren said as she headed to the kitchen.

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

Rushing back to the library, Lawrence was preoccupied with a thought:

- "Loren Velm. For her age, she already has an affinity for two of the four fundamental elements: Water and Air. Quite impressive."

Lawrence continued to spend his free time reading various books and encyclopedias. But soon, a problem arose. Lawrence had read and thoroughly studied all the books on the lower shelves, which he could reach. The upper rows, however, remained out of his reach.

- "So, what now? Having studied quite a lot of information about magic, I can assume that Air Magic could be used to carefully retrieve books from the upper shelves. But how exactly to direct the Flow of Mana?"

As Lawrence sat and sifted through information in his head, Loren quietly snuck up behind him.

- "Aha, caught you! I knew you'd be here,"

She said cheerily, lifting Lawrence into her arms.

- "Lawrence, do you find these books interesting? You can't read yet. And besides, they're mostly without pictures,"

Loren added, looking at the mess Lawrence had made.

- "Let's go to the table. Everyone is waiting for us."

The smell of freshly cooked food had already filled the house. Capturing this scent, Lawrence quickly forgot about his research and accompanied Loren to the dining room, anticipating new flavors.

Everyone in the household had gathered in the living room. The warm light from lamps illuminated the cozily set table, decorated with fresh flowers and colorful dishes. Various appetizers, aromatic stewed vegetables, fragrant bread, and a large pie that Eris had baked especially for this dinner graced the table.

Eris greeted Lawrence and Loren with a joyful smile:

- "Well, you finally came. We were all starting to worry about where you had gotten to. Sit down before everything gets cold."

Lawrence quickly scrambled to his place, and Loren carefully helped him settle in before sitting next to him.

- "Madam Eris, Lawrence was so busy today! He spent a ton of time in the library. I think he found something very interesting there,"

Loren said admiringly, winking at Lawrence.

Eris looked interestedly at Lawrence:

- "Really? And what did you find in the library, dear?"

Lawrence, with a smile on his face, looked at everyone present, trying to find the words that could explain his excitement and enthusiasm:

- "Books! Magic!"

He exclaimed.

Eris smiled warmly, looking at him tenderly:

- "That's wonderful, Lawrence. Magic is a very interesting field to explore. In the future, you'll be able to learn a lot about the world and how to interact with it."

After a brief pause, Eris continued:

- "But for now, let's enjoy this dinner. Your father will be back soon, and we'll tell him all about your adventures. He'll be proud of you."

Everyone began to eat, talking about different things, what had happened that day, and what the next day would bring. Eris made every effort to ensure that everyone felt included in the conversation, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere around her.

Lawrence, although still young, felt part of something bigger, part of a family that loved and supported him in all his endeavors. Dinner ended, and everyone gradually dispersed to their rooms, Lawrence, tired after a day full of activities, quickly fell asleep, full of anticipation for discoveries that awaited him ahead.
