"Now start talking will ya, or people will start dying of curiosity," Kai said half-jokingly.

"You're not half wrong Kai, more time I waste, more people will die, so you'll LISTEN QUIETLY TO WHAT I'M SAYING UTTERING WITHOUT A WORD." said the old man all seriously.

"Okay" said Kai after hearing old man after he suddenly went all serious. Kai also felt an unusual feeling of excitement. It was as if he was subconsciously expecting something from old man's story.

"Where should I begin from?"

"I would like if you could from the start."

"I know, it all started 2000 years old….."

2000 years ago, humanity was blooming without any apparent threat to it. And humans were the supreme ruler and strongest beings that ever existed. That was the case if we just talked about humans, but the world was not that simple as there existed other places other than earth. Though humans already knew about those other places they were called realms, there were three realms. Of course, that's if there doesn't exist anything else, but we are sure there isn't any.

First, the Earth home to numerous living creatures, including humans who were the peak beings of those born on Earth, and almost the peak beings when considered Earth as a whole, but they can't claim that spot for themselves even after 2000 years.

The Heaven realm, where all gods reside, well where the most gods reside. It was also the most powerful one of the three and the one which could destroy the others realms with ease. That's what everyone believed, and it was true, but not for long.

And finally, HELL the worst of all and their inhabitants, the demons, though significantly more powerful than earth but far far weaker than heaven but the most ambitious of them all. They had the ambitions to one day overturn heaven's rule over the three realms but they knew that it was impossible as it would need them to kill the almost unkillable gods, but they knew that they could easily destroy Earth. All they needed to do was send just a couple dozen of their generals with their army or a few higher-ranking demons and hope that the gods do not get that angry. Demons were sure that gods will get angry for sure, but for how long will they remain angry? 1000 years 2000 years 5000 demons have all the time in eternity and after they conquered Earth and appeased gods angry, they could think about how to defeat gods.

But the main problem was not the humans, nor even the wrath of gods. Or anything like that. The main problem was the silliest, most basic, and most important one they needed to solve. If they wanted to even think of attacking human demons had no way of getting to earth, they couldn't get to earth. Crossing from realm to realm was not possible for anyone except gods who will not tell demons how to do it anyway. Even if they do tell, demons will probably still be unable to do it because of how fundamentally different they are from gods. But if they could somehow remove the barrier between earth and hell, they could reach earth. The barrier had existed for longer than demons, and how to remove that barrier, or was it even possible? No one knew the answer to this question.

Until the demons removed the barrier, "we to this day still don't know how they opened the barrier and those revered few who do refuse to tell. We have our theories but they are mostly assumptions and are not worth mentioning." When demons opened the barrier and started coming to earth, they massacred every living being they saw, including humans.

Humans desperate for survival fought back even though it took dozens of humans to face a single demon. Humans did not cower down, but to humans' misfortune, demons were unkillable. No matter how much humans tried, they couldn't kill a single one of them. All they could do was serve their limbs and lock them in dungeons. But despite all efforts, the demon army was not reducing, but humans couldn't just resign to their inevitable fate.

"I have heard that our ancestors went to gods and begged for help from gods who already noticed demons advancing on earth and were thinking about what to do. They eventually helped humans and gave the SAGE family, God's biggest devotee, the sword in your hand..."

"Lies" 'huh it's that voice again, can this old man not hear and what does it mean by lies?' thought Kai after hearing the voice again.

"Hey hey you brat, are you even listening to what I said?" "Aha yeah yeah, I heard you."

"You better not don't doze off again. So where was I? Yes, the gods gave The SAGE Family their biggest devotees."

"Lies lies lies," said the voice Kai had been hearing with extreme anger but Kai couldn't concentrate on what old man was saying because of it and angrily said 'shut up shut up whoever you are just shut up and let me listen to what this old man is saying.' The voice became quiet after that and Kai continued to listen to what the old man was saying.

"The sword you are holding in your hand THE DEMON OBLITERATOR that's the name we gave it, as we didn't know its original name. This mighty sword named DEMON OBLITERATOR has slayed hundreds of thousands of demons no probably far more demons were eliminated by this sword."

"It was then people started seeing hope. At one point in the starting years of the demon invasion, almost all the demons on earth were killed by the first head of the Sage family, the one the gods gifted the sword too. The people started gaining hope and thought as long as that sword is in the hands of the first head of the Sage family, and we call him first Sage because we don't know his real name as all records of his personal life were lost."

"How did people lose records about such a person?"

"We don't know a huge portion of our history was lost because of the demon invasion and the history we have right now is just what people have been passing on to next generations or what we could find after patching together all the holes in the history in hopes to know the complete truth but this was all we could find."

"Anyway, after the first sage did great damage to the demon army and almost wiped them out of the face of the earth, people started gaining hope that everything will soon return to normal. People's fear of demons was greatly reduced and people began actively launching assaults on the remaining demon. Though they couldn't kill, they could immobilize them and have Mr. Sage kill them. Many of those assaults started getting successful and casualties became lesser and lesser. To the point that there were almost no demons on earth and with the first sage guarding the crack between the barriers where the demons crossed hell and came to earth there was no need to worry about new arrivals of demons as the mighty first sage left no alive. It was then that earth's inhabitants started recovering and demon forces stopped their advance towards the earth..."

There were no attacks by demons for months. Humans thought they had won the war, though it was but a mere battle. Celebrating their false victory over demons, humans had let their guards down except for one man and that was the first sage. It was as if he knew the demons will come back and attack again but people were too drunk on their false victory to heed his advice.
