Ch 2: Wedding Crashers part 1

Just letting you know, I am changing Aster’s name to Ael. Also, in order for him to be more usable he will no longer be a snake, but a bird. I fixed my other chapters to accommodate this since I didn’t want him to be left out. Thank you!

-----------

In the dreary blue sky’s a fierce bird was seen flying through the air, a fierce expression on its face . If one were to look closer they would see a large purple snake writhing in its talons, desperate to get free. There was no escape however as the bird suddenly clenched its talons, crushing the snakes head. The bird landed on a small stone ledge by the castles balcony and began to tear into the snake, its sharp beak facing no resistance despite the snakes hard scales.

The bird looked fierce, extremely so. Its feathers looked like hard swords, overlapping each other in beautiful ways. Its feathers were bright gold, with milky black eyes that seemed to see a thousand miles away.

“Hello there Ael. It’s finally time. In ten minutes Lord Karak will be reborn anew.” Nate said, a bright smile on his face. Indeed, he has been waiting six years for Karak to awaken. Soon, his liege's plans would begin. And he found out about the perfect opportunity to start it.  Ael hopped on Nate’s shoulder, a part of the snake's body still in its mouth.

“Well then. Shall we go awaken your master?”

After walking for a few minutes they arrived at a lavish bedroom. Inside were fluffy pillows, loosely drawn curtains covered the windows, making the moonlight shine through ominously. Nate walked towards a wall which held a three pronged candle above a brightly burning fireplace. He twisted the left candle 90 degrees, the middle one 180 and the right one 270. A moment later a series of clicks sounded throughout the room. Suddenly the fireplace tore itself apart, leaving a damp corridor that went deep into the underground.

After walking for a good few minutes Nate finally arrived at a large circle room, depict with

tens on tens of vulgar and atrocious paintings. Men raping children, children killing babies, women cheating on their husbands, men being enslaved. They littered the large room like flies, hung in unorganized locations.

“Screeech!”

“Yes Ael, it is time!” Nate said in a feverish voice. In the middle of a room was a large black tomb with dull glowing gold hieroglyphics on the side.  Nate walked about 10 ten feet away from the coffin then raised his arms wide, a determined expression on his face. He began to chant. It started as small, silent whispers that eventually grew in volume, like the calm before the storm. While Nate was chanting the runes began to grow brighter, like they were gathering power.

“Guuh! This is taking so much mana!” Nate shouted in his head. Still, he continued.  When the chanting was finally done Nate fell to the floor exhausted, all his mana gone.

*Crack*

Nate whipped his head towards the tomb. Crack?  THe tomb wasn’t supposed to crack. The Dark One told him that the tomb would fall to the ground and most likely explode. He warned him not to be too close lest he be hit.

*Crack*Crack*Crack*

Nate ran towards the exit, fearing he had failed his task.

“Such a simple task, failed!” He berated himself for his failure.

“The Dark Lord will ki--!!!”

*Crack*Crack*Crack*Crack*Boom!!!*

The black tomb violently exploded outwards, sending shards of debris flying everywhere. Nate quickly raised his mana shield, not wanting to be hit. A cloud of dust was obscuring Nate’s vision but with a simple wind spell the dust cleared, revealing a tall body lying on the ground.

“Is that… Karak?!?” Nate’s confusion could be understood. No longer was there an awkward and frail young boy who had trouble holding a spear. No, in his place was a creature from another dimension. It had the same face as Karak, but that is where the similarities ended. His body looked extremely well muscled, but not overly muscled. His skin had turned a cold gray color.  His hair had grown down towards his shoulders and turned a silvery black. His ears were turned into elf ears but they were smaller. He had gained a couple of inches while in the tomb. But when the figure sat up, the scariest thing came into view.

His eyes.

Just by looking at them one could tell he had thrown away all traces of humanity. His iris’s were glowing like molten gold. His pupils had shrunk until they were a vertical line. Nate instinctively recoiled, fear taking over his mind. But when he remembered who he was with he instantly stepped forward and kneeled.

“My lord! Your faithful serva-!”

“Nate?” Karak asked. Nate shivered at the voice.

“That is not the voice of a human… that is the voice of a demon!” Nate screamed in his head.

“Yes my lord. It is me” He said.

*Screech!* Just then Ael launched himself to Karak, the sound of joy entering his beak.

“Hello, Ael. Its been awhile.” Karak said, scratching the top of Ael’s head. The bird coo’d in pleasure, then hopped onto Karak’s shoulder. Karak then stood up and began to examine his body.

“This is power!” Karak shouted in his mind, overjoyed at what he had become. Quickly he sat down criss cross and began to meditate.

“Like the manual said… relax and feel the entity in your body. Play with it like you would clay.” Being a noble Karak had never “Played” with clay but he understood the metaphor. He relaxed completely, letting his worries free. He looked inside himself… and he saw it. Sitting in the center of his chest, flowing throughout his body was the darkest colored mist he had ever seen. It was pitch black, like someone dipped a white object in a bucket of black paint. He moved it back and forth, trying to get a feel for it.

“Do you like your new power Karak?”  A voice asked in his mind. Karak already knew who this voice was.

“Like it?… I love it.” He told The Dark One. He then began to do some simple stretches to get acquainted with his new bodies.

“Then go and grab my gifts. They are your room.” The Dark One said.

“Gifts?” Karak asked, heading towards the stairs.

“You.. have gotten far more powerful than I expected. That is to say, you absorbed“That” power much quicker than I thought possible. So… these weapons will help boost your growth even more.” The Dark One said with a deep laugh.

“Beautiful” Karak whispered. Lying atop his bed was a spear and a shield. These were no ordinary spear and shield, however, as both weapons were covered in human faces.

“The shield is covered in illusion magic. When one looks at it, their worst nightmares will come to life all around them.” Karak tenderly picked up the shield, liking the way it felt on his arm.

“The spear is enchanted to take the souls of enemies its slain. The more souls it takes, the stronger it becomes.”

“Weapons fit for a king” Karak said. The spear was pretty simple, despite the fact it was covered in faces. Not too long but not short it was straight with a sharpened tip at the end.

“Thank you, Dark One.” Karak said. He was truly happy about what had happened.

“It is too early to thank me now. You still remember your part of the deal?”

“Of course. To completely obliterate humanity.” Karak said in a dark voice. The flames of wrath were still evident in Karak. He could still hear the sound of his lover moaning on his brothers cock, passion evident in her voice.

“Good… and Nate has the perfect plan for it. You will no longer hear from me unless you absolutely need me. I will be resting to regain my power…” And with that, The Dark One was silent.

*Grrrmble*

Karak looked down at his stomach, realising he hadn’t eaten in six years.

“Nate!” He shouted, barking a command to his servant. The door to his room opened and there stood Nate, a slightly reproachful look on his face.

“Yes my lord?”

“I am hungry. What do we have to eat? Also, the Dark One said you had a plan for me?”

“We… have unfortunately not been able to procure much food. The surrounding area houses almost no animals and to the left of us lies the elves, but to the right of us lies the beastmen, as small as they are. And for my plan… I think it would be better to tell you at dinner. We can also discuss what has happened in the last six years.” Nate said, giving a bow.

“I see… that would be better. Leave me now.” Karak said with a wave of his hand.

“As you wish, my lord!”
