Kait begins sweating profusely as he nears the end mark of his quest.
"I've only got 2 miles to go, I can do this." He thought to himself as he ran along the sidewalks of the city. Gaining the attention of others, he ignored them and continued on.
"What other types of Quests are there, Lazarus?" Kait asked.
"Unfortunately, I am unable to tell you that. These quests are meant to strengthen you. Knowing what other Quests there are before doing them will not teach you discipline. I do not want you to become complacent. Each Quest is varied in difficulty and the task." Lazarus explained.
Finally finishing the Quest, Kait is rewarded with 100XP.
'Experience required to level up 100/1000XP' A screen infront of Kait displays. "Lazarus, can you tell me the different rewards for each Quest?" Kait questioned.
"That's a little difficult, like I said last time; each Quest is varied and the reward will vary as such. One Quest, you may receive 200 XP and 3 stat points or maybe you'll receive more. It all depends on the Quest. I cannot elaborate anymore than that." Lazarus explained.
A sigh escapes Kait's mouth as he popped his neck back and forth releasing the tension inside.
"Can you atleast tell me why I would need to be strong?" Kait mused.
"That is.....Something that I am not allowed to divulge at this time. It goes against my programming."
A vein appears ontop of Kait's head once more. "If you're inside of me, how can it be against your programming?"
Lazarus took a few seconds before replying. "I can't really say, it was the way I was designed. If you meet my creator, maybe you can ask them that."
"Nothing will ever be easy for me will it?" Kait asked himself before realizing that he has no place to stay.
Kait wanders around the city at night, looking for some place to stay. When suddenly he notices something off in the distance, a creature that runs on all fours; its face is mangled and it's mouth is sown shut resembling a doll.
"Kait! You need to be-careful, I forgot to mention the creatures that roam the city at night. The only ones that stay out in the night are ones that are strong enough to fight them. If possible, you need to hide!" Lazarus spoke.
Looking around, Kait finds an alley way and makes his way down it, before hearing a screeching sound behind him. Turning around Kait finds that the creature before had noticed him and began to stalk him.
Kait raises his fists ready to fight. "Wait, Kait! I wasn't joking, you need to be-careful! If you do decide to fight it, stay away from it's mouth, it's jaws will snap you in half like a twig." Lazarus warned.
"Just great." Kait said out loud as he ran for the creatures side and punched out towards where it's ribs should be. The beast is too fast for Kait to hit and dodges his attack.
The creature hissing at Kait before attacking. Barely dodging it Kait grabs whatever is closest to him, in this case and iron pipe.
"Come get some freak." Kait said as he ran back towards the beast only this time activating his super-human speed and halving the distance between the two. Not ready for this the creature rears up ready to attack Kait with it's feet.

But Kait proves to be faster as the iron pipe connects to the creatures side breaking a rib and piercing a lung. Attempting to get back up, the creature realizes it is unable to move due to it's pierced lung and decides to roar out.
"Damn, Kait. You need to kill the creature quick, it's signaling for back up. If more show up you won't be able to win." Lazarus warned.
"I can do this." Kait said as he swung the pipe down onto the creatures head, cracking it's skull and brain killing the creature.
'50XP Gained' '150/1000XP' A notification popped up infront of Kait, dismissing the screen. Kait looks down and sees that the creature dropped something. Picking it up, he soon realizes it's money.
"This creature dropped money? How is this possible?" Kait asked confused.
"This world is different than your original world, Kait. What was normal there is not here. Some creatures or beasts will drop various other things besides money." Lazarus explained before both of them heard more roars in the distance.
"Damn it, I have to run" Kait thought to himself as he ran down the alley way onto the neighboring street as he passes by, he notices a mail box. "It's Lila's house, maybe she'll let me spend the night." Kait thought to himself as he knocked on the door in hurried strikes.
Groggy, Lila answered the door. She is soon shocked to see that Kait is outside. "What are you doing here Kait? Aren't you supposed to be at your house?" She asked. Kait hurried in.
"I don't have a place to stay, it's hard to explain. Can I spend the night here to get away from those creatures?" Kait asked nervous. Lila nodded her head and brought him to a spare bedroom.
"You can sleep here for the night, but in the morning I want to know what happened." Lila asked before hugging Kait and returning to her room.
Kait laid down on the bed, his head racing, thoughts of today came to the front of his mind.
"Lazarus, what was that thing?" Kait asked.
"That thing, is known as a Rotted-Hound. They're similar to dogs in the way that they walk on their feet, but they have the bite strength of a Grizzly bear. Their speed can be overwhelming when you enter their breeding grounds. They normally travel in packs, the one we saw tonight must have been a scout, or possibly a scavenger." He explained.
"Is there something like a bestiary that I can look at be familiarized with them?" Kait asked.
"Unfortunately not, bestiary are expensive and are normally sold to royals and schools for teaching. It is possible to create your own, however, if you were to find yourself one; you mustn't tell others that you have one. They will assume that you are either a royal, or a thief." He continued explaining.
Kait sighs before closing his eyes and falling asleep, he is wracked with nightmares of the beast and his family back home.
The morning sun shines through the window enveloping his face in a golden ray. Slowly opening his eyes, Kait notices clothes sitting down at the foot of the bed. "Lila must have given these to me. But how would she know my size?" He thought himself as he slowly put the clothes on.
Walking through the house, he stops at a door and hears running water. "This must be the bathroom, good to know." He thinks to himself as he reaches the kitchen.
"This is much nicer than the one I had before, how much do these even cost here I wonder?"
"If you want breakfast, you'll have to make it yourself." Lila says walking out of the bathroom fully clothed.
"Since it's Saturday and school won't be again until Monday, tell me what happened last night." She asked.
They both sat down at the kitchen table and Kait told her what happened.
"You ran 10 miles? Then you ran into a stray Rotted-Hound? It's a miracle that you're still alive." Lila says as she gets up and pulls a pitcher of orange juice out into a cup infront of Kait.
As the morning progressed, they talked more about Magic and the uses. "So, is it possible to use different kinds of magic without actually having the talent for it?" Kait asked curious.
"That's where it gets tricky, the answer is yes and no. Yes, if you are in a family that has a bloodline that would give you access to the abilities to steal from others. No, that in, not everyone has access to it. It's either you are born with the ability to use them or have the ability to steal them." She explained running her hand through her silky blue hair.
"Do you belong to a royal bloodline?" Kait asks. Lila shakes her head. "Unfortunately not, my family is no where near the status of royal. I'll show you my abilities and magic at another time, Kait."
'Quest Available'
'Do 1000 push ups in one day.
Reward: 3 stat points/ 50XP
Failure to complete: Death'
Kait's eyes open wide. "Death?! Lazarus what is this about?!" Kait though to himself.
"I told you that the rewards and side effects would be different for each Quest. I'm unable to change the quest, you must complete it, or you will die." Lazarus explained.
Looking back up towards Lila, Kait clears his throat. "Lila, would it be possible to continue this later? I have something that I have to do." He said as he got up from the table and rushed out of the door.
"That was really weird, what was that about?" Lila thought to herself and she finished off the orange juice, suddenly feeling a sneeze come on. She tried to stop the sneeze but failed. As she sneezed, her ears changed and became pointy and her skin turned a light mocha color.
"I hope that he'll accept me when he finds out what I really am." Lila thinks to herself.
Outside, Kait is running and trying to find a secluded space.
"Why don't you just create an artificial space?" Lazarus asked.
Kait stopped in his tracks. "What do you mean an artificial space? Do you mean this whole time, I could've done my quests in a different space so people wouldn't see me?" Kait asked clearly pissed.
"I didn't tell you that? I apologize, I thought I did. Well, anyways, with an artificial space, you're able to train and fight creatures and beasts, mind you they're still deadly. But you'll earn less experience than you would fighting them organically." He went on to explain.
"You are causing me a headache, can you tell me how to create one?" Kait asked.
"That's easy, all you have to do is hold out your hand an imagine a space apart from this reality and you're set." Lazarus said, clearly enjoying Kait's frustration.
Kait does as instructed and is surprised when he sees a notification.
'Artificial Space Created. You may now enter.'
