--------///----General narration----\\\--------
Five years was not a long time for the life of a beast. Some cubs would reach adolescence while others would reach adulthood. However in the forest, five years had brought a new system that all beasts who lived there would follow. The forest had been subjected to rifts that would form daily which would lead to a creature entering their domain. Any beast that had found a rift was to report it to the dryads who would then report it to the elder. However this day would be very different from every other day.
Deep in the forest known to all beasts as "The grave of the progenitors", an occurance that would shake the very foundations of Astrum had begun taking place. In the center of a clearing that led to "The Grand Silver Arbor", a massive skull that stood taller then many beasts could be seen letting off a faint glow as it was surrounded by numerous Dryads seemingly in a trance. The skull belonged to none other then the progenitor to the lycans, Fenrir.
Years ago it had been excavated for the purpose bringing Fenrir back to the land of the living to help protect Astrum from the dangers the new generation of progenitors would be incapable of fighting against. The rifts had proved to be just as formidable as expected as rifts had continued to appear throughout the forest without falter. Every day there would be a new bundle of rifts whether they were capable of being sealed or not. And today was not an exception to this.
At the clearing containing the skull of fenrir, the Dryads were not alone as they were overseen by massive wolf with a coat of pure white fur and silver eyes. This wolf was known as the elder to the lycans, Garris. However any beast in the forest knew that Garris was normally not alone. Over the years the fact that Garris would always have a small and strange fox and bird by his side had become common knowledge to the inhabitants of the forest. Yet for this momentus occasion, they were nowhere to be seen. However, Garris himself didn't seem to be worried at all.
Over the years this particular fox and bird had been hunting the creatures that intruded from these rifts as well as beasts that called the forest home. They had hunted and hunted for years which had led them to becoming quite well known all throughout the forest. "The six tailed demon", "The shadow of the ebony skies", they had become terors to any who had broken the laws of the forest and served as a shield that prevented any monsters or creatures from the rift from endangering the forest.
And just as they had been doing for five years, they were doing so again as if it were just another day. Running along the ground was a rather peculiar and shockingly fast fox. To anyone observing it, they would see an almost meter and a half fox coated in fur darker then the night with pure black claws and fangs. Those aspects had led to the moniker of "demon" stick to the hearts of any beast that saw her. However the six tails that trailed behind her couldn't be ignored either.
At first these tails had confused the residents of the forest but after witnesses had viewed a class with a creature from beyond a rift, their powers became known. Each tail had belonged to one of her elements. Her tail with a black circle in the center that had a band on the sides and back of her tail represented darkness. Then the red, white, silver, brown and the new purple, represented her fire, light, wind, earth and poison elements. The poison tail had been a sudden development that surprised residents of the forest yet to Garris and Eclina, it was just a matter of time that the poison element was completed.
There had also been developments with her abilities themselves and not just the aquisition of the poison element. Eclina was now capable of using three elements at the same time and had become quite proficient in them. She had gone off to handle some of the nearest rifts that weren't able to be closed. As the years went by, Eclina had proved herself capable of handling the creatures that intruded from the rifts all on her own. The same applied to Espiral who was doing the same thing. However for now the focus is on Eclina.
--------///----Eclina's POV----\\\--------
(Eclina) " Gotta go go go, can't miss Mr.Fenrir's birthday! Why couldn't Mr.Garris just do this? He's way faster then us. No fair! No Faiiir! I'm gonna complain to Mr.Fenrir later. "
~ Even though today was supposed to be a special day, Mr.Garris told us to handle the rifts while he watched the tree help bring back Mr.Fenrir. We could do it, sure. But it was boring and could've been handled by anyone else. The rifts i finished off were easy enough but why do there have to be so many of them? ~
It was weird. The closer the day came for Mr.Fenrir to be brought back, the more rifts that would be popping up. At first we thought it was just something random and didn't mind it. But when ten rifts became twenty, then thirty, and even fourty, that was when we started to know that this was going to be a problem. There was a council where everyone talked about this and agreed that it had to be because Mr.Fenrir was coming back. There was even a time when two rifts appeared onto each other and just merged. That one was hard but i could still handle it on my own. That hadn't ever happened after but the fact that it happened had thrown everyone into a small panic.
Luckily i didn't run into any today and i didn't think i would so thinking about it was pretty much pointless. There were still a few rifts left on my route so i just picked up my pace to get to the closest one and put down whatever came out. I repeated that for another ten rifts before i had finished all the ones that i had to get for today. After that, i took to the sky and started heading back to the tree so i could be there for Mr.Fenrir's birthday. Though, while i was running, i felt something very familiar coming from my side.
I looked over to where i felt it, and saw just what i was expecting. At first there was a flashing yellow and red dot but as the seconds passed, it grew bigger and bigger to the point that i could make out who it was. Eventually he got close enough for me to hear a shout.
(Espiral) " Siiis! "
Espiral probably sensed me the same way i sensed him and just started flying over. I waited for him to get to me before going anywhere. I didn't have to wait for long either since Espiral's gotten faster then me over the years. He's gotten bigger then me too since now he's seven meters tall with a four meter wingspan. His feathers and their colors didn't change much but his crown got a little more predominent. At first it was a little weird to dsee someone younger then me being taller then me but as we kept getting older, i just didn't mind it. Eventually he got big enough for me to ride on his back. Which was what he let he do right now.
At first it was hard for him since he was way smaller then he was now and he never flew around with anything on his back before. But the more we did it the better he got. Eventually we managed to be able to do it while he was going full speed and nothing went wrong. He could even keep going with his lightning coating on just like he did now. We even tried fighting together while i was riding on his back, which as long as used his metal to keep me attached, was possible. We could even use our darkness together since neither of our darkness hurt the other but worked together instead.

We did a lot of stuff to find out what we could do together, and with years to do that, we managed to find out alot. We even found out that i could passively absorb some of his lightning while i was on his back, which would start to form it in my Sylum which was a way different way then how i got my poison or nature, which i still couldn't use no matter how much i tried. There were a few more things we found out but now that we were coming up on the big tree, weren't as important anymore.
As we got to the big tree, we could see Mr.Fenrir's skull glowing as the Dryads taken over by the big tree were surrounding and encasing it in a massive sphere of wood. That was when Espiral started to land next to Mr.Garris. I hopped off and sat next to Mr.Garris while Espiral landed next to me and wrapped a wing around me.
(Garris) " Any problems? "
(Eclina) " Nope. They were all easy. "
(Espiral) " Same with mine. Nothing problematic came out. "
(Garris) " Good. It should be any minute now for Fenrir's return. "
Espiral had changes more then just his size and element abilities. Whenever we talked to Mr.Garris, he would stand straight and sounded more confident then he used too before. He didn't shy away from things as often anymore and seemed more dependable as time went on. He did seem to get more protective of me and would do things like deflecting or stopping attacks that wouldn't really hurt or faze me and would actually tell me not to do or try certain things. I knew why and i felt happy that he wanted to protect me even though we both knew that i was the stronger and older one.
(Eclina) " Are mama and papa close yet? "
(Garris) " No. Your mother should still be a week away. And last i heard of your father, he should still be staying at that empresses' land. "
Over the years, mama and papa would come visit. Usually it would be papa since he could come visit a day after he says he would but sometimes mama would take weeks to come here just to see me. And recently when we told her that Mr.Fenrir would be coming back, she seemed to be a little... Ecstatic at the thought of meeting him. She told us to tell her when it was supposed to happen so she could rush over and see it happen. Though she would've gotten here faster if papa helped, he was apparently watching over my brother and helping with whatever rifts would appear near them.
Whenever we talked, they would tell me about Lily and Morrius and how they were doing. Lily had been living with an elf colony and learning more about her nature while Morrius was being taught by Ulderria and a manticore whose name i couldn't remember. Whenever i heard about that, i couldn't help but wanting to see them and show off. Though mama and papa would say "not yet" for some reason. They would even tell me about the amount of rifts they found which was similar to the forest but different since there would hardly be ten rifts a week while we dealt with more then that daily.
Then we just talked about a little bit of random stuff until something new started happening. Mr.Fenrir's skull was suddenly being raised up and encased in a wooden sphere that was covering the glow that we could still see despite it being fully enclosed. Then the sphere started to shake and the glow started to get brighter and brighter. That's when i started to feel it. I think Mr.Garris felt it too since our fur started to stand on end and we both stood up straight. I looked over and Espiral didn't seem to be feeling any different so he was just looking at us with a confused look on his face.
It was difficult explaining it so i didn't try and just focused on the sphere that held Mr.Fenrir's skull. The light coming from it just kept getting brighter to the point that it wouldn't be difficult to say there was another sun in front of us. We couldn't look at it anymore so we all looked away and Espiral even shielded my eyes with his wing. It was then that the feeling of something ancient, peaked. The blinding light slowly started to dim and when i looked back, the wooden sphere slowly started to descend to the ground.
When the sphere hit the ground, it slowly started to crack and fall apart. At first it was at the top but it kept going down until the entire sphere was reduced to splinters. While it was happening, it seemed like the entire forest went still and even the air was waiting for what was going to appear from the broken sphere. And right in the center of those splinters stood a five meter tall wolf that looked colorless or vibrant depending on how he was looked at, had sharp eyes that looked threatening even though he didn't intend them to be, and claws that looked dangerous even though we were standing far-ish away.
As we saw it, i could hear the sounds of all the wolves and beasts related to him start howling or roaring out, including Mr.Garris. After that was done, Mr.Garris knelt down while Espiral's talons dug into the ground. My fur was standing on end but looking at Mr.Fenrir, i didn't feel afraid it was just the pressure that was coming off of him for me. He shook off any splinters or fragments that had landed on him and llooked over to us. It looked like he was about to say something, but the Dryads that the big tree was in, started to talk first.
(Grand Silver Arbor) " Fenrir... Welcome back... To the realm... Of the living... "
Mr.Fenrir looked over to the Dryads that had all lined up behind him and formed a kind smile. But right before he was about to say something, he was interrupted. By the Arbor. Again. Which seemed to really start to annoy him but he didn't say anything about it.
(Grand Silver Arbor) " I must... Retire from my kin... For now... Staying any longer... Would strain them... Too much... I shall oversee... Elysium and this realm... For now... Goodbye, Fenrir... "
Then the Dryads all lightly fell to the ground and seemed to stay unconcious. Mr.Fenrir's eye and smile twitched for a second but then he just shook his head. Then he just looked up to the Arbor itself. Even though the tree didn't have any eyes or a face, we could sort of tell that it's "gaze" was on us and that it seemed to be smiling.
(Fenrir) " Thank you for helping the old man with this... Might have taken longer if it was just left up to him. "
After Mr.Fenrir said that, there was a light shake from the tree. Then a small waterball shot out towards him and smacked him in the face. He wasn't expecting it, neither were any of us. Though even if we did, i don't think any of us would've been able to avoid it even if we did. It was just that fast. Mr.Fenrir just looked back up to the Arbor with wide eyes and a shocked look on his face, which was understandable since that's never happened before.
(Fenrir) " How the hells? "
(Leviathan) ~ The Arbor serves as a conduit. However talking through it and the attack are the most i can do. Also, Garuda and Bahamut are laughing at you. ~
(Fenrir) " Oh... Wait a minute... "The most", did you try to use more for that you damn old worm?! And Go to the hells, the both of you! "
There wasn't a response to that so Fenrir was just shouting at the air, which caused his eye to twitch again. After a few more seconds of silence, he shook off the water and looked back to us.
(Fenrir) " *Ahem* Anyway, i'm- "
(Eclina) " Is there any point in doing an introduction at this point? "
Mr.Fenrir flinched and looked over to me. I knew how much he didn't like to be interrupted so i did it since it would be funny. Anyway, my senses were calming down and my fur wasn't standing on end anymore, so him looking at me didn't seem to freak out my senses. I walked over to him and jumped on his back since his paw was too small to comfortably lay on, and laid down. He just let out a long sigh and just let it happen while Mr.Garris was just looking at us with wide eyes while Espiral flew over to me and hovered around us.
(Fenrir) " Fine. Anyway, now that i'm her- "
Mr.Fenrir stopped talking and just looked up to the sky. For a second i was curious about why but then i started to sense it too. And it looked like Mr.Garris and Espiral felt it too. It felt like the sky above the forest was about to burst but looking closer... We could see the hundreds of rifts, a majority of which were the small ones that we dealt with daily, while some were bigger and actually seemed like small dots in the sky, just forming all around the sky above us as far as we could see.
(Fenrir) " Hmm... Looks like we were right... Guess it's time to to see if i still got it. I can vent out my frustration at being interrupted so often the first day i'm back. "
