As we follow behind the woman I begin to look around for something interesting to look at.
Doing that I begin to notice how bad the state of the city is in. Multiple of the buildings have giant holes in them and that a nearby statue on the sidewalk was missing his head and part of his torso.
Yet despite all of the wrekage there was one thing that was missing, bodies. No matter how hard I looked for them I couldn't find a single body, even when there were large blood stains leading me to conclude that at one point there was once a body there.
And taking into acount the fact that there wasn't even any bones means that if something was eating them it had to be eating them whole, or something was taking them somewere for some purpose.
Letting my curiosity get the better of me I decided to ask the local expert, "What happened to all the bodies?"
After taking the woman a while to realise that I was talking to her, she informed me that after the beginning of the apocolypse some of the people saw many wolves dragging the bodies off somewhere.
While I still wanted to find out more I could tell the woman didn't want to say more, so I decided to turn My attention to the other thing that was bothering me, the lack of monsters.
So, once again I asked the woman about it, and she just gave me a cryptic, "Monsters won't come around here," and wouldn't tell me anything else no matter how hard I pried.
Because she wouldn't tell me anything, I figured that I would just find out myself.
Activating my Elemental Sense including all of the hiding monsters that I found, I also found a large quantity of a very dense magic about a quarter mile away from us.
"Hey, woman," I say rudely to our guide, "There's something that way I want to check out so follow me for a bit."
"Wait, wait," the woman shouts panicked, "There's a very powerful monster that way. It has single handedly wiped out most of the army that came to defend the city."
"Well now I'm just more excited," I say while ignoring the woman trying to stop me.
As I walk off the woman makes an exasperated face before rushing to stop me.
"You don't have to follow me if you're scared of the big bad monster," I say in an mocking tone.
"Well I can't just very well let the strongest person I've ever met run of to his death, now can I," the woman said exasperated at my nonchalance.
"Perhaps," I respond to the woman as I walk off.
"This dude is seriously crazy," the woman mumbled under her breath.
Ignoring her, probably correct, comment, I continue to walk until I reach the area covered in magic, and now that I am closer, my magic sense and the dropping temperature told me that it was ice magic.
"You cold," I ask the woman as she begins to shiver from the dropping temperature.
"How are you not," the woman snaps visably annoyed by me.
"Well I'm equiped with an internal cooling and heating system, but as for my boss," my electronic assisstant hesitates, "I believe he is just not human."
"Well said," I say laughing at the comment, before stopping because of a now familiar box that appeared in front of me.

"Of course," I reply, "If anything, it makes me more excited."

Renir was disappointed in the so called "humans" of this world, as soon as he began to run through the "humans" defensive lines their weapons couldn't even scratch his fur, and ever since then no "human" would even come close to him and would run away after entering his domain.
However, that changed a few minutes ago when two "humans" and another being, not quite organic but enough to fool the eyes, suddenly wandered into his domain. Using his divine sense to watch the "humans" he notices the obvious power difference between the two, with the man seemingly bullying the shivering woman with a nonchalance despite being in the wolves domain.
After observing the male of the trio Renir realized that he could find no opening in which he would be able to attack the man.
A few minutes later the wolf also noticed that the man had realised that the wolf was watching him,
Pulling his consence back to himself Renir stood up from his previous position on the pavement and begun to wait for his first challenger in this world.
...
As the man and woman strolled into the clearing with a wolf, about 2 meters tall, was looking at them with eyes showing it's disintrest.
Looking at the large wolf, that the woman took to be Renir, the woman began to shiver for an entirely different reason than the cold.
Noticing the woman shivering once again the wolf turned it's head to the man and began to speak,
Hearing the wolf speak the man's eyes showed a faint hint of curiosity before replying to the wolf, "I'm more intrested in how you are able to speak to me."
The man then fell silent for a few seconds, his incredible mind wirring at inhuman speeds to try and figure out how to do mind magic himself, before looking up at the wolf and speaking directly into the wolf's head.
The man hearing the wolf deflect the question, smirked and picked up a rock of the pavement before hurling it towards a spot slightly behind the wolf.
The first wolf seeing the second it ran off into a nearby building as if hiding from the second one.
The second wolf, the one the man recognized as Renir, watched the first wolf run off and then turned to look at the man before speaking,
After introducing himself Renir paused as if to wait for the man to introduce himself, but realizing the man had no intent to the wolf continued on with his speech.
The man, seemingly unperturbed by the wolf's threat opened his mouth for the first time since learning mind magic and said, "Well that sure is a shame isn't it? Hey, you two behind me, go hide in some nearby building or something."
Hearing the man's words the not quite "human" woman took the confused woman and steered her into a nearby building.
Watching the women walk away Renir turned back to the man and said to him,
The wolf sighed before talking to the man one last time,
And with that thought lingering between them they both closed the ten meter gap in between them in an instant, and the fight begun.
