Raven woke up to an explosion coming from the village. Immediately they got onto their feet and ran outside, brushing their hair back from their purple eyes. They ran into town only to see it in flames with people fleeing. The stone houses were burning and bodies filled the streets. Raven then saw what the attackers were wearing, dark gray armor with a crimson star in the center.

They suddenly stop as they see their dad dead on the ground with a man standing over him with a torch. In one swift motion, the man dropped the torch onto raven's father. “DAD!” they cried. Then the guy turned and smirked. “There you are, little one! The prince will be pleased.” Raven didn't know what the guy meant but it wasn't good.

They ran to the nearest guard, who was dead and grabbed the sword out of the guard's belt along with the sheath and continued to run. By the time they stopped it was dusk. Raven broke down and couldn't believe what just happened. In a matter of moments they lost everything, their home, their dad, their friends, and almost their life. Then they remembered the attackers armor. The attackers had the prince's symbol on it. Which meant that the prince sent them!

The prince was a maniac. He limited the pay the farmers and miners got, he enslaved most of the dwarfs, and executed many people who did nothing wrong. Everyone behind his back called him many names like “the wicked prince” or “dark prince”. Raven then remembered another story they heard.

“c-child with eyes like lilac, see their home set ablaze by trarants men, set out with th-the help of the moon and the earth, the sun will guide you to the tyrant, b-blessing of the gods shall the raven heart’s champion receive, not without sacrifice shall the prince be defeated.”

raven muttered between sobs. Then stood up and wiped their tears “I will put an end to the dark prince and bring peace to the Everland. I will stop this tyrant. I will make sure that none will suffer if I can help it. I will free the land and I will fight to protect it with my life.”

they stared into the sky riddled with stars, getting more and more confident with each oath they spoke. “I SWEAR ON THE GODDESS NELKES!” After that last line thunder rumbled across the sky as if answering to Raven's reply. Raven then sat back down and said, “wait.. Oh no.’’ After a few minutes of silent panic on the vow they just made they started to work on a plan.

After thinking for what seemed like forever, Raven fell into a dreamless sleep. The next day Raven began their quest. The first thing they needed was supplies. At midday they manage to find a village close to her old home. Thankfully the town had not been attacked and was thriving.

Raven walked down a brick path and went into the tavern. The tavern had mud brick walls, oak log pillars made neat lines. Circular tables riddled the place. Species of all kinds were laughing and chatting away. They walked up to the counter and pulled a small sack of coins from their dress pocket.

Then taped the bell, ding! The innkeeper turned around. “Hello, what can I get you?” he said. He had a big brown beard and was tall. He was wearing an apron on top of a brown tunic.

Then raven set down the small sack and said “I'm going on a quest and need supplies. Could you help me?” the innkeeper paused till the count of ten with a worried look in his blue eyes then called “honey! We need supplies stat!” “On it!” called a voice in the distance. A few moments later a fae came running carrying a map, potions, tent, matches, and a large leather bag.

She had a floral dress and had braided her long orange hair. She then set the stuff in front of raven and said “here you go dear. May I ask what your quest is?” Raven said “thank you for the supplies but i won't say what my quest is but that i must take it alone.” then handed the small sack to the innkeeper. As the innkeeper looked in the sack they packed up all the supplies and was about to head out when the innkeeper said “wait! Here you go.” and handed them back the sack of coins.

“Thank you..” they said. As they were about to open they felt a tap on their shoulder. They turned around to see two people standing there. “Hi I'm Luna and this is muddy and we are going to help you with your quest.”
