Raven was working in the field along with their father. It was a hot day and not ideal to be working, but time was pressing. It was near the end of summer and they had to plant their crops. Hours of painstaking work later and they were finally finished. The two headed into their small cottage.
The cottage was pretty simple with a hay roof topping a stone brick house, but they loved their home. “Raven, you are going to be an amazing farmer when you grow up.”
“I know dad." they said half heartly. Their dad kept insisting that they would be a farmer but Raven wanted to fight. They wanted to be part of the town's guard. "Oh can you please tell me the story again?” Raven asked. They loved to hear about the gods and goddess, They liked to hear about the brave knights who fought against the dark forces of evil.
“But you know it word for word my little crow!” dad exclaimed ruffing up Ravens short almond colored hair. “Please?” they said. “Very well my crow.” their father sat down.

“Once upon a time, in a time when the world was still new. The gods and goddesses roamed and controlled the Everland. Two of which were Nelkes, who was the goddess of birds and Lumores who was the goddess of the gates of heaven and hell, the two were friends. One day Lumores found two heart shaped gems. One was white and the other was black.
She gave the white heart to Nelkes and kept the black one for herself. But little did she know the gem had an evil manipulative being. It whispered in Lumores ear.” he said. “Then one day Lomores gave in to its temptation. She caused a huge storm and did unimaginable things to humanity.
She caused world hunger, hurricanes, wars, and even started an ice age. The gods knew she had to be stopped but none would stand up. But then came froth Nelkes saying she would try to stop Lumores and true to her word she mounted her horse and charged to Lomores’s castle. They fought long and hard. Then with her last arrow, she loaded her crossbow and shot it straight into Lomores heart and with a blood curdling scream fell onto the earth.
but Nelkes was badly wounded and with her last bit of strength, put herself into the gem that Lomores gave her, promising to someday choose a champion when the world is once again in peril. But when the gods came to get the body of Lomores, they found nothing except for the crystal Nelkes turned into.” By then Raven was already asleep.
