That night… Lizzy was in her room jumping on her bed trying to use her powers. “UGH, WHY IS THIS SO HARD TO DO I AM THE DAUGHTER OF PEOPLE THAT CAN USE THEIR POWERS WITH SUCH EASE!” Lizzy yelled, smacking her hands as she flopped on her bed. She turned over and looked at her hands as tears streamed down her face. “Mother and father will never let me out of this kingdom to go beyond the wall and having no powers make them even more protective...even if mother doesn’t show it sometimes.” Lizzy got up from the bed, wiped her tears away, and went to the window and opened it.
The moon’s light reflected off the lake below making the fish look like they were glowing. Lizzy got on the window seal and bent forward a little on her tippy-toes as she stood higher she could almost see what was beyond the wall. She saw lights, houses, trees and the giant castle belonging to the other side of the kingdom in the far back making it hard to see. “I do know our princess doesn’t think about sneaking outright?” Lizzy jumped, turning around to see a maid with a grin.
“Oh of course not Amilia, I was just….looking at the moon and lake.” Lizzy chuckled nervously, jumping off the window onto the floor in front of Amilia and smiled.
“Oh yes, of course I will believe you your highness, but I do have you know that it is past your bedtime and the queen has been waking you up rather early just a couple of months before you become queen,” Amilia told Lizzy as she pulled Lizzy’s arm and sat her down on her bed with a brush and started brushing her hair.
“But I’m still a teenager and I'm not ready to look after a whole kingdom. Oh, I want to explore and travel and find a new place to build my kingdom.”
“Oh yeah if you go out of this kingdom you will get kidnapped then get killed. I'm sorry to put that so bluntly, princess, but you don’t exactly have powers to protect yourself with.” Amilia said, putting the brush down and pushing Lizzy down on the bed.
“I know, but I feel my powers coming, they will come.” Lizzy pleaded.
“Of course they will princess just not tonight of course the only thing you need to do right now is to sleep,” Amilia said, tucking Lizzy in and turning off the lamp, and shutting the door. Lizzy sighed and went to sleep.
“Your highness it’s time to awake” Amilia came in and pulled the curtains that let light fill the darkroom. Lizzy groaned and flipped over covering her face from the light. “Lizzy, your parents expect you to be down on time, they are teaching you to become queen,” Amilia said, pulling the covers off Lizzy.
“Okay I’m up,” Lizzy said, sitting up and stretching.
“Good now get out of bed, your mother gave you a new dress that she got from the dressmaker, made out of the finest silk,” Amilia says looking through Lizzy’s closet and pulling out a baby blue dress with a white bow.
Two more maids came in as Lizzy got up from bed and sat at her vanity. A maid walked behind Lizzy, grabbed a brush, and started to comb through Lizzy’s hair. “My...my Princess Lizzy you have some smooth hair.” A maid said as she put the brush down and grabbed a crown she sat on the dresser before and placed it on Lizzy’s head and smoothing out her hair. Lizzy got up as the maids started to dress her.
“Oh, Princess you look outstanding, that dress does fit quite well if I do say so myself.” Another maid said, stepping back and looking in awe at the blue silk dress with a white bow. Lizzy smiled and spun around making the maids gasped in awe seeing under the white lace that was under the dress making it spin, making it a perfect dancing dress.

“Well, now that you're ready Princess you should see what your parents need. It must be important if they would wake you this early from your beauty rest.” Amilia said as Lizzy sighed, nodding her head.
“Of course, well thanks again ladies for dressing me.” Lizzy smiled before walking out of the room.
Lizzy walked down the stairs in a big room surrounded by guards at every opening. Lizzy walked through the room a little more passing the guards as they took a little bow to the princess. “There’s my little future queen, how did you sleep my princess?” Lizzy looked up to Queen Rose and King Max, her mother, and her father, who sent their maids away.
“I slept well mother,” Lizzy stated.
“That’s great to hear Lizzy. Hopefully, we didn’t wake you up too early.” King Max smiled at his daughter and just nodded.
“That’s good, anyway enough talk you young lady has a busy schedule today so shall we get started?” Queen Rose stood from her throne and fluffed her dress. As Lizzy and her mother were walking down the halls talking about how a queen should act.
“Mom, I wanted to tell you that I’ve been working on my powers and I feel like they are coming, they are just running late is all,” Lizzy said proudly following her mother.
“My dear Lizzy, how many times have I had to tell you. You will never get powers no matter how much you work. It just wasn’t meant for you I guess, But anyway I have amazing news. We found a prince you can marry, isn’t that amazing.” Queen Rose said, getting excited as Lizzy’s proud face turned into a frown and looked down.
“Mom, I told you and told you. I don’t want some random prince coming in and being king. I want to wait and choose one myself, but anyway back to my powers. Mom, I feel that if I learn to use my powers I can go beyond the wall as I dreamed…” Lizzy started.
“Lizzy enough I told you time and time again you will not get powers, so please forget about them.” Queen Rose said.
“But mom, I don’t want to marry a prince. I want you to help me train and be able to go beyond the wall, I’m 18 I should be able to make my own choices if you would just let me…” Lizzy pleaded but got cut off. Queen Rose started to get mad as a red started to surround her.
“ENOUGH LIZZY I TOLD YOU TO GIVE UP SO ENOUGH ON THE FAKE DREAM YOU HAVE THAT WILL NEVER COME TRUE. YOU WILL MARRY THE PRINCE AND HE WILL BECOME KING AND HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU THAT YOU WILL NEVER GO BEYOND THE WALL ME AND YOUR FATHER FORBID YOU!” Queen Rose turned around and yelled as a red light formed around her hitting Lizzy in the process as a red mark formed on Lizzy’s face. Queen Rose looked at her daughter and held her mouth,
“Lizzy...honey I’m so sorry.” Queen Rose said.
“Just save it, mother…” Lizzy backed up in horror and started to cry and ran away.
“BETTY I THOUGHT YOU FORBID YOURSELF NOT TO USE YOUR POWERS ON OUR DAUGHTER SHE DOES NOT HAVE NO MAGIC TO PROTECT HERSELF!” King Max yelled, making things around him shake.
“I...I...I didn’t mean she was talking about how she would get powers, oh honey she needs to give up her dream is far too dangerous I don’t want my baby kidnapped and killed.” Queen Rose dropped to her knees making her dress puff out further. King Max watched his wife in despair and got on his knees.
“Honey you do know that we can’t keep her away from her dream forever and my advice on the wedding, I think she should pick someone that makes her happy. I reassure you that our daughter will not let harm's way into the kingdom and let them take control.” King Max used his power to calm his angry wife. Queen Rose wiped her tears and looked at her husband and sighed.
“Oh Max, but she knows I only want what's best for her. She doesn’t know anyone that will make her happy. I know it's taking away happiness for her, but she’s 18 and she still doesn’t have powers so I don’t feel comfortable leaving the duty as Queen when my daughter can’t protect them. I don’t mean to sound so rude. I just don’t want to get herself kidnapped, even worse killed.” Queen Rose said as King Max held his wife’s hand in reinsurance and kissed her on the head.
