Chapter 37- Uh-oh

The moment Noah stepped out of the pavilion, dozens of intense gazes fell upon him from all corners of the crowd, and those were only the ones he could detect. In a throng of multicoloured outfits, there was one that stood out among the rest- The prideful faces, the puffed chests, the lusterous gold robes of the local hegemons- The Saemanis Sect. Of course, it was logical to assume that his boisterous actions would attract the attention of the four clan alliance. But, anything that attracted the attention of the four clans alliance was also bound to attract the attention of the rulers- The Saemanis Sect, and their ally, the women-only sect that were dressed in purple kimonos that went by the name Violet Heart.

Of course, he didn't think that the Emporium Master had sold him out- any transaction that forced the closure of the Emporium itself would draw whispers, and whispers were bound to draw attention. They pretended to be oblivious to his appearance, but his perception stat clearly let him know when he happened to be the center of attention. So be it- this was an eventuality he had prepared for.

"BROTHERS AND SISTERS OF THE SAEMANIS SECT!" Noah loudly yelled, capturing the attention of the elite group dressed in gold, and the other four clans that gazed at him with hostility. "The vile four clan alliance has tried to assassinate our Sect Leader,! I must speak to the vice sect leader with urgency, lead me there! I command you in his name," Noah called out, and channeled origin through the Sect Seal he had been clutching in his hands all this while. A halo of a crystal elemental that had a vague humanoid shape projected in the air, lacking any facial features- just a head, chest, legs and arms. A wave of aura projected outward from the illusion, and it was unmistakably that of the middle aged man he had eliminated earlier in his Primordial Spirit form.

Disbelief. Shock. Passionate screams. Utter chaos. Multicolored lights exploding in unison.

It was hard to describe the moment, as Noah himself almost lost him in how fast the sequence of events occurred. One moment, a crowd of normal medivial men and women were milling about lazily around the marketplace, and the next an assortment of monsters, both fully transformed and half-transformed, formed two concentric rings around him- while the disciples from the other four sects looked at the procession warily, unsure how to react and even more unsure if the accusations were true.

Noah realized that there was an instant of equilibrium, as both parties indulged in a staredown. He realized that they were waiting for him to give an order, realizing the power the holder of this Seal held.

"Break through! Get me inside the pagoda as quickly as you can, ignore those who don't bar our way!" Noah directed, and he felt a transformed four eyed, bear man that stood at a ridiculous height of nine meters even in a state of semi transformation. Next to him were beings of all kinds- some were incased in different forms of multicolored rock, like the sect leader- but none managed to emulate his crystal clear transformation, their's were murky, and felt somewhat impure. Others were half-transformed variants- some had wicked scythes for hands, like a preying mantis but sharper, others had bat like wings, and so on. Finally, there was a golem-man or rock-man standing at the front and leading the charge, formed of stacked boulders of different kinds, with a large rock shield that seemed to have fused with his right arm who was easily fifteen meters tall.

Then the charge began, and what happened next left him too queasy to recant the story- but he would try. The rock man made the first move, running through the array of four clans surrounding almost all sides of the emporium. A team of three heavy category primordial spirits went to confront him, a dumb looking giant with horns and red skin, that had a large mace in his hands, an entire freaking four legged wild boar with black patterns running down its skin and an unholy amalgamation of an enlarged human skeleton- that looked as if it's bones were formed from pure titanium holding a large two handed shield that were each as tall as the rock man.

Noah thought it would be an equal clash, but boy oh boy, how wrong he was. The rock man never stopped accelerating from beginning to end, and when his shield collided with the trio it was as if a train had run over them- Seeing fifteen meter tall apocalyptic creatures being sent flying into the air was an experience on its own, but the rock man didn't stop there- he continued tearing through the crowd, sending any primordial spirit that stood in its way flying away and battered. Just when Noah thought the way was clear, his line of sight completely changed.

It took an instant for his wisdom to process what had just happened- the bear man had fucking chucked him towards the bloody stratosphere. He wanted to scream, but he was travelling so fast the voice wouldn't come out. A rational part of his mind said that the rockman's charge and the following charge was a diversion, but the other part said they had seen through his lies and he was fucked. Just when Noah was about to transform into a titan, three sharp dagger like objects on either side pierced his collarbone- His increased constitution made the pain somewhat bearable, but he still let out a miserable scream.

But his fate had changed, Noah realized he was flying at a blindingly fast speed instead of being reduced to a splat on the wall. He swore the bloody thing was moving faster than a fighter jet, and all he wanted to do was throw up his guts.

Another screech echoed out behind him, and Noah realized there were persuers. Just fucking great. With a downward swoop, the birdman sent him rolling on the ground, and then accelerated with tremendous skill, to hold off a persuer at bay. Before Noah could even hurl himself to the ground and puke, a fucking cannonball of a man yanked him from his standing place- so fast he couldn't even react, let alone refute- and the next thing he heard was the sound of dozens of people marching in unison, their shadows shielding Noah from the glare of the sun.

"Hey. You okay?" His savior asked Noah, but the only response he could give was throwing up his lunch.
