XN-0036891 surveyed the planet below, it was a watery blue planet with several landmasses denoting life upon its surface. Its programming was simple, discover class 4 civilisations or above and add them to The Game. It scanned again and made its choice due to the parameters it was given. XN-0036891 looked at the data of the selected life-form. It was an almost perfectly average example of its species, with a few deviances in the raw data.
Once it had made its choice XN-0036891 got to work. First it laid the groundwork of setting up several teleport and communication relay systems, next it contacted the central computer and uploaded all the necessary data on the planet and its occupants for record keeping and later use. XN-0036891 prepared for the final steps, drawing a massive amount of power from its near infinite reserves of energy it linked up with the teleportation relays and selected its chosen target and entered its targeted destination.
The power released and the target was plucked from its room and placed in stasis in preparation for its introduction into the game. XN-0036891 now waited for the appropriate time, the central computer would alert it as to its next course of action, it merely had to bid its time. XN-0036891 switched mode to stand-by.

Atlas shifted in bed, something had awoken him, it felt as if something was watching him. He blinked the sleep from his eyes in an attempt to further evaluate his surroundings. They looked the same as before, his room remained unchanged. Posters on the wall from some lesser known tv shows or cartoons lay hidden in the darkness, his desk held a few blinking lights from his laptop and various electronics he kept there. His room was quiet. Too quiet he jokingly thought.
May as well get up, I need to pee. Atlas thought. After returning quietly from the bathroom Atlas checked the time, 01:36 am. Huh, he thought. I usually never wake up to pee. As he drew closer to his bed, Atlas looked down at the pile of clothes on the chair next to it. He spotted the little backpack that held all his survival gear in it. He reached down and grabbed the bag and the tan leather jacket, jeans and boots that lay partially on top of, or around, the bag, thinking to put them away before he went to bed.
Atlas had earlier been packing the backpack full of the survival items he'd bought for an up-coming trip to the Mother continent, Africa. He wasn't leaving for another 2 weeks but in his excitement, he'd gone and bought all the necessary gear. Although having never been in the situation to have need of the items, Atlas had liked having them around, made him feel wild and savage, even though he internally cringed at the feeling he simultaneously revelled in it... He had always let his mind run wild with ‘what ifs’ whilst playing around with the equipment. Whilst bored that evening, he had unpacked, cleaned, and made a catalogued list of the items inside.
Whilst walking over to his cupboard to store his stuff, Atlas felt a tingling feeling across his whole body, surprised at the sensation he gripped his belongings tighter to his chest as the world around him faded to an inky blackness that far outstripped the darkness of the night that encompassed his room.
