(Chapter 12) The Demon Capital

(Chapter 12) The Demon Capital

Sitting in the carriage Ian looked out the window ignoring the Demon Queen and princess, of course the two finally started to pay attention to his appearance and had a bit of a shock.

Finally, the Demon Queen asked "S-sir may I ask what your name is?"

Glancing at the Demon Queen Ian simply said "Ian no need to add sir or any other mannerisms, it's unnecessary"

"Well Ian may I ask, are you human?" The Demon Queen asked quietly

"Only in name" Ian replied

"Are you well versed in magic?" The Demon Queen continued her questions

"In a sense" Ian said

"Then would you consider being a teacher for our arcane academy" The Demon Queen asked with hope

"Aren't you concerned I'm a spy" Ian ask curiously

"You killed 10 of your own kind, I would doubt that" The Demon Queen smiled

"Their lives could have been used to help plant a spy" Ian continued to counter argue

"To stop the carriage and kidnap my daughter from right in front of me at the same moment with me being able to respond means they are elites. There is no way they would be used as fodder" The Demon Queen replied confidently

However, in reality The Demon Queen was quite humiliated with herself. "Why did I decide to think of theories to aid my research during the ride home? I should have known the risk of having enlightenment and becoming vulnerable. I know I need to improve my power for the war, but I'm starting to act to hastily"

Stopping for a moment Ian thought this could be a good way to increase the power of the demons to help rival the power of the sin blade he planted. After all, Ian wanted a war not a slaughter.

"Fine what do I need to fill the role of a teacher in this academy" Ian asked

"Well" The Demon Queen seemed to suddenly become awkward

"Usually to cast magic, demons would use demonic grimoires to cast the magic they know. This is because magic they master is etched into the grimoire and allows for ease of use in combat" The Demon Queen said

"This is why demons could retain their magical legacy as the runes used can only be comprehended by demons, so the grimoires of dead demon magicians could contribute their knowledge and possibly self-created spells to the demon folk and never to another race" The Demon Queen continued

"Alright, I'll find a way to deal with this" Ian said with confidence

Throughout this conversation The Demon Princess had said nothing, only looking at the floor with a red face

As the carriage stopped Ian and the two royals stepped out to be welcomed to a large castle with a welcoming party of various types of demon folk

The happy and respectful atmosphere suddenly turned cold when the demons laid eyes on Ian figure. Weapons were drawn and Ian was suddenly surrounded by various demons

"I was in a carriage with royalty, is it not obvious I'm not a threat" Ian said with a distaining tone to these uptight guards

"You could have threatened them, we will take you in for interrogation to find out your true motives" A orc said grimly

"By interrogation do you mean torture until confession?" Ian asked with a mocking grin

"Shut up!" an elf shouted "You a human have no right to question our methods"

"Wow, I thought rights came with strength. Now it's from racial privilege" Ian continued his mocking tone "It's funny how the view of how one has a right is applied where convenient, if one is weaker than you its rights by strength, if their stronger than you it's rights by privilege, status or race. It's quite funny honestly"

"Human, shut up! Who gave you the right to speak" The orc shouted angrily

"I gave myself the right, thank you very much" Ian sneered

"You a human have no rights in this place" The orc snarled

"Ok could we stop saying the word 'right' it's getting a bit redundant" Ian said rolling his eyes

"You don’t have the right to ask us of anything" The orc snarled once more

"Ok, speaking with you is going to end up with me arguing with you until the day you die." Ian said with growing distain

"Your Majesty, I request for you to mediate this situation for their sake" Ian called out

After about 15 minutes of The Demon Queen berating the royal guard for their behavior and another 10 to make them go away The Demon Queen turned and bowed to Ian in apology

"I'm sorry for the hindrance my guard has caused, I should have stopped it sooner" The Demon Queen said with genuine apology

"I'm just a bit confused as to how you didn't notice sooner, seeing as you were practically right next to me" Ian said

"I-I suddenly had a comprehension in a magic I was studying and was..." The Demon Queen rushed to explain

"It's fine" Ian sighed "Let's just settle down alright"

Nodding in agreement the group entered the castle. The princess still beet red looking at the ground

Sitting down in a luxurious room Ian thought about how to deal with the grimoire issue.

"In all due honestly I should spend some time organizing all of the items I have in my inner reality, this could be a good reason to organize It all" Ian thought

Clapping his hands time around his body slowed to an extreme pace, spending an unknown sum of years Ian finally held the book in his hands

"I figured out how to store and replicate functioning formations and items in this, I'm actually quite pleased with this product" Ian thought being quite pleased with himself

Ian had originally been stuck with limited resources, memorizing the various ratios and methods for creating items could lead to mental obstructions, which is why Ian never attempted to memorize the makeup of all the items he possessed.

To create this book with no issues Ian needed to be undisturbed for a long period of time, in martial worlds the chances of being disturbed were too high. Thus, he never tried to do so at the time

Opening the book Ian look at one of the pages and willed for the listings of formations to appear

Looking at a random formation Ian tapped the name

The name when touched glowed slightly as a card began to slide out of its words

Looking at the card Ian saw the formation lines printed throughout the body of the card only needing a thought or trigger to be activated

"I think this product turned out a bit too well" Ian thought with an awkward smile
