Within the Geest Forest.
Geest Forest, as the name suggests it’s the forest for natural spirit. You can feel the natural spirit around you as well as some eerie feeling. Element attack or magic will be stronger in this forest. Although cannot been seen the natural spirit will not attack unless provoke.
The forest is rather small, around the size of a regular football field. Those large trees surround the forest and act like a giant wall that keep intruder out. Inside there are smaller tree around, flower and herb lying here and there and a small pond in the middle. There is light shine through the sea of trees into the pond. It’s a magnificent sight.
‘I though the forest will be larger than this and fill with monster instead. What is that?’
Phantom notice a cave at the end of the forest. Just around the pond is a cave around 7’’ tall with a notice beside the cave entrance. He approaches the entrance and tried to enter it but there is some kind of barrier prevents him from entering the cave.
‘What is happening? Why can’t I enter the cave?’
He notices the wooden notice beside the cave and read the content.

Description: This mine contains various ore require for smithing. It’s said that Brokkr discover this mine long ago and started his smithing journey from here. He used the ore that found inside this cave to make superior and legendary weapon all over the world.
P.S: Only those who qualify to lift my hammer

‘Look like Brokkr is inside the mine’
Phantom head back to Brokkr Village. The journey took him about half day. He also killed every monster he saw on the way back. Dogs, rabbit and raccoon are no match for him now. Now level 8, he reached the entrance of Brokkr Village once again.
He distributed the stat among Vit, Str and Dex. Stephan saw Phantom walking toward him and greet him even before Phantomr each him.
“Phantom, how is the outcome of your quest?”
“I killed the FerPitch'e Hound and reach the Geest Forest.”
“So that’s the name of the Northern Forest. None of the villager knew the forest real name. Did you find any clue regarding Brokkr?”
“Yes. It looks like he is in a mine located inside the Geest Forest. I cannot get into the mine because it’s protected by a barrier.”
“I see. It’s too bad that you cannot proceed any further than that. I was hoping that you found the remains of Brokkr there.”
“Don’t be too disappointed my friend. Brokkr leaved a message for those who manage to get inside the forest. Those who can wield his hammer are allowed to get into the mine.”
“His hammer you say? If that is what it need then follow me.”
Phantom follows Stephan around the village. They reach the back of the village and walk to a open field. In the middle of the field is a crater.
“Here we are. Have a look inside the crater”
Phantom look inside the crater as per instruct by Stephan. He saw a hammer in the middle of the crater.
“The hammer has been there as long as I can remember. According to my grandfather this hammer is fallen from the sky after the ancient war. It stay there until now and no one been able to lift it from there.”
“It’s heavy?”
“I’m not sure. Why not you try it yourself?”
Phantom jumps down the crater and walk toward the hammer. He put both his hand at the hammer handle. Breathe in, breathe out. As he expects the hammer to be a heavy one, he uses all his strength tries to lift the hammer. Suddenly he falls to the back and knocks his head. He successfully lifts the hammer from the ground.
“Ouch! My head hurt. I though the hammer would be heavy. It’s so light that I feel almost nothing”
“Phantom. What have you done?”
“Huh? I though you are the one who ask me to tried? It’s so light that a child will have no problem lifting it.”
“Is that so? Please hand it to me to have a look”
Phantom passes the hammer to Stephan. As soon as the hammer leaves his hand and get to Stephan hand, it drops to the ground and buried 3’ into the ground. Stephan tries to lift it up but cannot.
“You say its light but why I cannot lift it?”
“How would I know? Let me tried again.”
Once again Phantom lifts the hammer from the ground with no problem at all. The hammer head is square instead of round. The hammer head have some engraving around the edge. Its handle is around 1’’ long cover with leather.
“See”
“Maybe you are the only 1 who can lift the hammer. Please keep it.”
“Thanks Stephan. Item status”

“Stephan, now that I have this hammer I can proceed into the mine and look for clue about Brokkr.”
“Yes. Please do so and let me know if you find anything. I will leave the hammer in your care”
Say Stephan with a sad face. It looks like he wanted to keep the hammer for himself but his curiosity overcome him.

‘Look like it’s time for me to explore the mine but before that, let try out the hammer transformation option.’
Phantom head back to the grass field for rabbit and raccoon. He then equips Brokkr Hammer and wields it in his hand. He then shout out the weapon that he want the hammer to transform into.
“SWORD”
The hammer head shrink in size and the sides of it become longer and bend forward forming a horn shape. Handle also become shorter to around 3 ½ ‘. The blade comes out from the hilt. It is a single hand long sword.
‘Not bad and it look cool when the weapon transform’
Brokkr sword attack and option is remains the same as when it’s in hammer form. The blade is sharp and shinny. It looks like it can cut anything with it. Phantom saw a rabbit right in front of him. He approaches the rabbit and slash with the Brokkr sword.

‘Now I can kill rabbit and raccoon with 1 hit. This will be convenience for me to farm rabbit meat and raccoon meat’
Phantom will kill everything in his sight just to grind a little bit more experience, ingredient and material as he travel back to Geest Forest. This time journey become much faster than the last due to his high attack. He reaches Geest Forest in 3 hours time.
He enters the forest and proceeds straight to the mine. Phantom carefully took his first step into the mine. This time he can enter it without any problem.

In Alter Gaia, mines are rank by ores that you can mine from within it. The rarer the ores in it the higher the rank is. For example bronze mine is rank F while silver is rank E. A mine with 2 or more ores will rank higher than a normal mine.
‘Rank SSS!!! I wonder what kind of ores I can discover in here. Maybe I should start mining while I proceed with my quest’
“PICKAXE”
Brokkr sword start to change it shapes again. The blade become shorter and shorter until it merges with the hilt. The horns on both side of the hilt now bend backward and grow in size and longer while the handle become longer and longer to around 1 ½ ‘’ in length.
‘With this Brokkr Pickaxe I can start to mine now’
He gets into the mine. The mine is not too dark to see. There is some kind of light coming from the fungus forming around the wall. It feels moist inside the mine. He can only see a straight tunnel in front of him.
Phantom goes deeper into the mine while holding his pickaxe. He saw iron, steel, bronze, silver, gold and mithril all around the wall. He starts to mine the ore and put 1 by 1 into his bag. Those ore can be sold at high prize or use as material for forging a weapon.
He mines while he proceeds deeper and deeper into the mine. After ½ day of mining his bag is full. He cannot take any more ores. It’s decided that he need to proceed with his quest now.
Phantom reaches his 1st branch tunnel. A light shines from his pickaxe toward the left tunnel. He decides to follow the guide light from his pickaxe since it does belong to Brokkr. After few hours he arrive yet another branch tunnel.
This time the light guides him to the right tunnel toward a dead end.
‘Dead end? What is happening here? It should not be wrong’
He notice the light shone a little bit downward instead.
‘Maybe something is behind this wall’
He pick as hard as he can at the wall. After a few hard hit the wall started to crumble. Phantom saw a skeleton inside the opening. It looks like it’s been there for a long time. There is a journal beside the skeleton.
Phantom picks it up and read the most recent entry.

Day 10 after enter Element Mine
A week has pass since I trap in there. My wish to explore this mine seems to reach an end here.
It’s regrettable that I will die like this.
Day 11 after enter Element Mine
It looks like there is no more hope for me to get out from here. My pickaxe is buried in the earthquake. Before I die, I would like to entrust my will to whoever found my remains. The one who have the ability to wield my hammer will find me and will succeed me as the next Elemental Blacksmith. He will inherit part of my knowledge and discover the rest by himself. He also will be the 1 to change the world to be a better place and discover the secret of Element Mine.

There are various hidden job in Alter Gaia. Not all players can encounter the hidden job change quest. Hidden job will granted many skills that no other job has. Some even have the ability to change the whole gaming experience. Some hidden job is granted to a single player while some maybe granted to more than 1. Legendary Element Blacksmith is 1 of the example that only granted to 1 player.

You do not need to use a mold to forge equipment. Desire equipment design will project out of you mind and you need to hammer your molten metal mixture into shape. The higher the level the more complicated design can be made.
‘Wow…. Special smithing and Plan projection is something else. Normal blacksmith need to use a mold to forge weapon while I do not need the use of a mold. My creation do not fix with a simple mold but through my own design.’
Phantom had not realized that in Alter Gaia blacksmith cannot forge weapon with attribute even if they have element ore. Element ore is very rare in this world and attribute weapon only drop by B ranked boss and above. Weapons are hard to get in this world. Weapon only drop by monster that use weapon and armor is the same. The other way to get your hand on weapon is brought from NPC or other player.
He carries Brokkr remains out of the mine and head to the village. He meets with Stephan at the village entrance. It seem like Stephan is expecting him.
“Stephan. I have a bad news for you.”
“What is it Phantom? Something bad happen?”
“Yes. Here are the remains of Brokkr. He die in Element Mine locate inside the Geest Forest.”
Phantom hands over the skeletons to Stephan.
“The great Brokkr die in a mine? What actually happen?”
“According to his journal there is an earthquake not long after he went inside the mine. The earthquake causes a rock slide inside the mine and traps him. He only has a pickaxe with him when that happen and the pickaxe buried along the rock slide.”
“I can’t believe it. A legendary figure dies from trapping inside a mine. Thank you for clearing my curiosity my friend. Now let us burry his remains in a proper grave.”

The next day they hold a burial ceremony for Brokkr the Legendary Blacksmith. At the end of the ceremony, Stephan declares that Phantom will inherit Brokkr will and legacy. He will now lead the village toward the new world.
