She didn't so much awaken. It would be more appropriate to say she become more aware, considering the state she was in. Most of her time was spent in a half-dazed trance, but occasionally she became conscious of the world around her.
Contrary to what you may think, it wasn't the heat and pain of what was called "fire fever" which woke her up. After six days, sadly, that became the norm, and her senses were somewhat dulled to it. When she stirred, it was usually due to some outside circumstances. In this particular instance, that was a door closing in the other room.
In the process of awakening, she found it difficult to make out specific sounds, and her eyes hadn't opened yet, but she could hear that man from three days ago again, speaking with mother. She had no idea why he was here, but she heard mother saying "fever" a few times, so she suspected it was about her.
The door to her room opened, but no sound came through. They were probably looking through, pity on their eyes, just like everyone else that came through. She hated pity. Eventually she heard more muted whispers, then the door opened more.
"Hey, my little dandelion, are you awake?" Mother soothingly asked. The nine year old girl somewhat stirred and let out a mumble of affirmation. "How are you feeling?" At this Leera opened her eyes just enough to glare at mother, revealing a black-and-gold robed man standing behind her with a satchel across his shoulder. Her eyes fluttered shut again.
"We got you some medicine, my love. It'll make all the pain go away. Now I need you to be strong and drink up, this will feel very cold going down. Think you can do that for me?"
Leera nodded. The man said, "Here we go, coming in," and a bottle touched her lips, somewhat roughly. The potion went down hard, causing Leera to cough on the man's hand. A good amount of potion spilled on the sheets, making her chest a little more chilly. She shivered as a cold, flowery scent hit her nostrils.

"It's alright, I planned for this, and made just a little extra in case this happened," the man smiled (or so Leera assumed, based on his tone). The potion came back to her lips, and more prepared, she drank it in small gulps with no more incidents. The potion cooled her, bit by bit. Her mouth chilled, then it passed by her lungs, making her breath foggy when she opened her eyes to see it. It swirled in her stomach, and seemed to end there for now. It felt nice. She closed her eyes again and rested.
"Very well done young lady! You're so tough, you'll be up and at 'em before you know it." The man praised her. "Now we'll give you a little more time to rest and get better. You'll be up in an hour, I'd bet." At this she heard footsteps as they left the room.
The potion began its work, lessening the pain almost immediately. The heat slowly faded. As it did, she heard their voices through the still-cracked bedroom door.
"So she'll get better now?"
"Indeed she will. I wasn't lying when I said she'd be up in an hour. This particular recipe works quick!"
"Thank you so much for doing this for us! As promised-"
"No, no, no. Please, keep it. My friend and I made plenty from the dungeon we raided for the ingredients. The knowledge that your daughter will get better is all the reward I need."
Leera kept cooling, the effects of the fever passing quickly. The pain started to fade into numbness.
"I can't tell you how much that means to us. To be quite honest, I don't know how we were going to get by after paying you. You've saved not only her, but us as well."
"Please, think nothing of it. In fact, here’s another bottle, adult-sized, in case you caught it from tending her.”
“Thank you so much! You’ve been the kindest healer we’ve ever met, I’ll be sure to tell everyone about your services!”
The cold and numbness spread, and her breath continued to fog. The pain was all gone now. Everything felt alright. Thankfully she didn't move, or she would have noticed she couldn't from the tension the chill had caused. Instead, she simply lay there, content six days of pain were no longer plaguing her.
“It’s absolutely no trouble, ma’am, just my duty in fellowship with Toara. Anyways, here you go.”
“Again, thank you so much… but wait, isn’t that bottle a little smaller than the standard size?”
“I think that’s your memory playing tricks on you. See, when you compare it to the one we gave little Leera…… Oh. Shit. Shit shit shit!”
Leera fell asleep with a smile on her face, and silently thanked the kind man for releasing her from the week's torment.
