The Parasite in Cultivator World
Chapter 7: Pavilion of Knowledge

Chapter 7: Pavilion of Knowledge

After the tournament all level 6 or higher cultivators ran to the Pavilion of knowledge to receive the method of “Wind Step”. Due to this Parasite decided to get back to his house to finish the cultivation. Each person in the sect had their own house and nobody without invitation could get into somebody else's house. There was a special seal on the doors of each house and each disciple received a special talisman which could be used to open it. Before Yu Min became a cultivator he was living in the barracks with many other people like him. However, nobody could tell that conditions were bad.

The Dark Scy sect was very strict. It was established as soon as the current Patriarch inherited this sect. Previously he was an elder who was responsible for the Disciplinary Committee and it is possible to say that he was really into it. Punishments in the sect were very harsh. Any fighting or booling was prohibited. If somebody was found guilty they were deprived of the QI Formation pill for 3 years. But if they were found guilty for the second time then the disciplinary committee was throwing away such a person out of sect, but before that they were destroying cultivation of this person. On the other hand, other sects didn't pay attention to the disassembly between disciples. Maybe due to this Dark Scy sect becoming better than 1 star rank sect. Because they were trying to create connections between disciples by sacrificing the martial spirit. In other words, the disciples of the dark sky sect didn't have much fighting experience against other cultivators.

For Yu Min and Parasite it took several days to break through to level 7 and as soon as they finished cultivation they went to the Pavilion of Knowledge to get techniques which they were rewarded. At the end of the tournament Yu Min received a special token which gave him the possibility to choose additional techniques from the Pavilion of Knowledge. As soon as Yu Min reached the Pavilion he found that there was nobody except one Elder sitting in the middle of the room. Yu Min quickly approaches the Elder. - “ Respected Elder, I am sorry that I don't know your name, but this is my first time here and I came to receive a technique which is called 'Wind Step'. - Elder didn't even glance at him and continued to meditate, but in a moment he waved his hand and one of the books came out from the shelf and flyed to Yu Min. Parasite sensed in that move very strong and at the same time gentle control of QI. In a moment, Yu Min was holding the book in his hands. - ''I am sorry Elder, but I also have a special token which I received during the competition and I would like to get another technique as well.

At this moment Elder was a little bit surprised. - “ I thought the person who won second place was on level 6. But I can see that you already break through to the next level. Yu Min, in our sect we have only several techniques for the QI Formation Realm.” - Elder made another movement with his hand and 4 more books left shelfs and appeared before Yu Min.

“How do you know my name?” - asked Yu Min with surprise.

“Respected Elder Jay Vi has shared the information about the tournament. And both disciples who got 1st and 3rd place already took their rewards.”

“Thank you, respected Elder, for the information. I will want to choose a technique for me” - and Yu Min begins to check each technique one by one.

The first book was called “Lurking Fox '' - this technique was hiding energy and trace of a person, but it didn't hide scent which was not very useful for Yu Min, while next goal of Parasite was to go into the woods. And against monsters it would not be very helpful as well they already got “Wind Step” which could be used to run away. Next Cultivation technique was called “Stone Skin” which was making the skin of the user harden. It was similar to Kim Li's hardened skin. However, this technique was using much energy and in 3-4 minutes users on the QI Formation realm would be without energy. The next technique was called “Poison Stash”. Parasites liked this technique because it was a little bit similar to it. But it took a long time to learn this technique. The main problem was that it was using cultivators body to hide different poisons inside and at any moment to release it when needed, but the drawback was that it requires poison resistances as well as it is required to find different poisons to use. Parasite kept in mind that such techniques exist. And the last technique was called “Blood Needle” and this is what Parasite was looking for.

Stolen novel; please report.

“You need to take this book. This is the best out of all techniques which are here. It would be more beneficial than ‘Stone Skin’. Take it and you will not regret” - in the beginning Yu Min wanted to take “Stone Skin” technique, but then his mind changed and he has chosen “Blood Needle” technique.

That technique was the last resort which QI Formation disciples can use in life and death situations. Using it, a disciple can create a needle from own blood which would use all the energy in the body of the cultivator, but it is very fast and has huge penetrative power. If a level 6 student used such a technique, he would have a chance to kill a student on QI Subdual Realm who just broke through. QI Formation realm disciples can't use techniques which manipulate QI outside their body, however, Blood Needle was using blood of the user due to this it could be said that QI was still inside the user body.

Yu Min took both books and already began to walk out, but Elder called him “Wait, I think you would as well need this” - and in a moment Yu Min received another book - “Respected Elder, but as I know I can take only 2 techniques, I can't take this”.

“This is not technique” - answered Elder - “This is a bestiary of different monsters that live in Dark Wood. I think it would be useful for you as well. You would still come back to me to get this. All students who reached level 6 want to go to the forest. Our Patriarch imposed new restrictions around 100 years ago. In order to decrease the number of incidents in Dark Wood, all students should pass the theoretical exam and only then will they be allowed to go into the Dark Wood.” - Such information surprised Yu Min and Parasite. Not all sects care so much about their disciple. Probably this was another reason why Sect was stronger than other 1 star sects.

“Thank you Respected Elder for the knowledge which you have shared with me. Is there a possibility to learn more about the Dark Sky sect's history?” - Parasite, became very interested in the current Sect Patriarch and due to this was keen on to learn about changes which were made by the Patriarch. While it is not easy for a sect to grow in Star rank and for sure it doesn't seem any more as simple luck that Dark Sky sect became 1.5 start sect.

“Of Course you can find more information about the sect here in the Pavilion of Knowledge. I can prepare several books for you, but you should come after several days? My name is Azai Muboku. If you want to read other books you can ask me about them and will try to help you.“ - This was the first time when a disciple wanted to learn something more about the sect which was not related to techniques. Mostly QI Formation students were going to the Pavilion of Knowledge to receive the technique and then they were forgetting about the Pavilion of Knowledge until they were not getting to QI Subdual Realm when they could take new techniques.

“Thank you very much Respected Elder, Azai Muboku”. - Yu Min gave a deep bow to the elder and left the Pavilion. Parasite understood that Pavilion of Knowledge may have more information which can be used to reach its goal

Parasite already understood that Yu Min was not very useful when it relates to Games of Mind. And due to this it couldn't use much of Yu Min's experience and knowledge in order to gain some benefits. It is even possible to say that You Min didn't want to learn anything at all. There was a whole library inside the sect, but Yu Min didn't try to learn anything. Parasite can't blame You Min for that, almost all disciples here were working hard in mines and due to this after the standard cultivation they were trying to spend time by relaxing and having some fun. And they didn't see any benefit in reading books.
