After escaping the grasp of that creepy guy, Landon, who dearly wished to be his master Belle found himself in line while waiting to check in with his card.
It was a simple silver-green card with Orange inscriptions around the rims, a simple card with the color of the Power Halo and his District of birth.
That being Orange District No. 3, Walterpyre, which was one of the Knowledge Districts.
He moved up in the line as he handed his card to one of the Enforcers there. He was a young man who had bright gold pupils and a soft baby-like face with braided hair.
He was dressed in a uniform of blues and whites along with distinguished greens. His brown belt contained various tools and alchemical ointments.
“Belle, 15 years old, Aberrant of Walterpyre. Did I get all of that right?” The Enforcer whose name was Marten as shown on his nametag asked him sternly but his tone retained an underlying gentleness.
Like gentle waves and blessed wind, it invaded his heart melting away any anxious thoughts.
Internally Belle’s eyes narrowed but he smiled as he answered the man, “That’s me! Is there a problem?” His tone was nervous as he scratched his head, like a child who didn’t know much about the world.
‘Hah! Let’s see if you think I fell for your tricky mind powers…’ Belle was smug but then reality crushed his fantasy as the man sighed.
“Don’t act with me, kid. I can see through your acting, have a good day. I wish you well on your exams,” Marten passed a slip which was orange with silver-green engravings to Belle who was a bit shocked before he hurried him away.
“Huh?” The hand on his back produced an unshakable force that made his walk to the side unstoppable, thankfully he stopped just before crashing into the newly repaired walls.
Belle blinked as he stood a bit further away and he glanced back at the crowded station. The area was heavily militarized with various hidden weapons along with armored trains.
No doubt the various iron chunks that protruded from the ground were bunkers and underground passageways. Massive lights covered the area above the huge trains that could transverse the Inner Regions of Zoran at breakneck speed.
Belle looked again at the Enforcer that forced him away, he didn’t sense any power coming from him and wasn’t able to react at all which was surprising.
Martin turned to glance at him before he pointed to something in the distance.
Belle looked confused and glanced in the direction he pointed at, he paled and bowed toward Martin in thanks before running toward his nearly full and leaving train in haste.
“Crap, crap, crap!” Belle put all his strength and Essence into his legs as he dashed, he seemed to blur before he entered the train. He couldn’t stop however and seemed to be heading toward his doom of being crushed by his own haste.
‘Damnit!’ As Belle was debating whether he should use “That” to save himself from pain the train wall in front of him lit up before a force that felt too much like his bed back home blanketed his body from crashing into the hard walls of the train.
As he collided with the force and rebounded onto the ground, he saw many people looking at him. Many of them had the same scarf as him with one of them approaching him with a sigh.
It was an older woman with red hair in a bun and purple eyes, the scarf was silver instead of orange like his own. He could faintly hear the chuckles among the other, younger members in the train car.

“Would it kill you children to be more careful and appreciative of your lives? Why is it the tenth time this week and the second time today that I have had to save you reckless heathens from yourselves?” The woman, whom Belle suspected to be an Instructor roared at him for his recklessness.
Belle laughed nervously before he got another stern look that seemed like it was going to transform into a scolding, not wishing for such a situation the boy apologized, “Sorry.”
She stared for a few moments then mumbled in a light voice, “Be careful. You might hurt yourself or others next time, so make sure that “next time” doesn’t exist.”
The woman sighed as the train finally began to move, then quickly picked up speed as it moved across the Encryption Road that powered and guided it. Belle got up and dusted off his clothes before he secured his bag to his shoulder, then he looked around curiously.
The woman who yelled at him walked over to some area further away as the others in the car gave way to her. He could have seen it before but now he could see something attached to her clothes. On her shoulder were attached five golden bars with three stars on them.
Belle gasped when he realized who yelled at him.
High Fifth Rank – A Hero.
‘I think Landon called it Temple something,’ Belle tried to recall what the old man had told him but came up slightly blank when he felt the gazes on him.
He faintly heard a few more chuckles in the distance and caught a look at his disheveled hair along with his blushed face in the window.
He squinted in focus to hide his embarrassment, then began to fix himself once more. An arm wrapped around his shoulders as a male voice entered his ear.
“Pretty embarrassing situation you got yourself into first year?” The voice was big and rough, and the larger teen had black hair with caramel skin and similar eyes.
‘An elf? Also, he called me a first year, but I’m not—’ Belle thought as he looked at the person on the window sill.
Also, he had a black sweet in his mouth and it colored his tongue in the same color. His scarf had three stars on it and was colored red-purple.
“I’m not a first year,” Belle fixed his clothes as he batted away the hand that tried to swim through his hair.
“Not yet at least. You look promising, when you get in make sure to join the exploration club!” The elf gave a wide grin as he pointed to himself with a muscled arm.
“Why would I join the club of someone I don’t even know the name of?” Belle questioned.
“Welf. The name’s Welf Cartold! I don’t suppose you would tell this ‘suspicious person’ your name?” Welf looked at him with a smile and Belle sighed.
“Belle.” He grumbled out as he realized that even when crouched the person he guessed was a senior stood taller than he was.
“Belle? Sounds like you would do great as the scout, for the exploration club of course. I sense a great ability in you Belle, far greater than those who senselessly laugh at others!” Welf shouted out as he looked at the other teens on the train.
Belle paled when he realized they all looked at him with resentment for making a senior get a bad impression of them. Welf smiled and nudged him before he took a step back to dodge the eraser that was thrown at him.
At the same time, a sonic boom was heard then a furious female voice sounded out.
Despite it being mad like last time, it was younger and wasn’t directed at him, Belle realized. Unconsciously, he heaved a sigh in relief. He wasn’t going to get yelled at.
“Welf! Stop playing around with the trainees and get back to work. I’m tired of you leaving your post all the time!” A girl who was shorter than Welf but taller than Belle marched toward them both as her blonde ponytail swung, her green eyes burned.
Her scarf which had 3 stars and was colored red-black waved in the wind as she sped by everyone in the car in a flash.
Welf smiled as he rubbed his palms together, “Jen. My rival, I was just on my well-deserved break.”
Jen ignored him and looked toward the now frightened Belle. She smiled to calm the boy before suddenly grabbing at Welf, who dodged her strike and ran away in the direction she came from.
“Seriously. I want to know why the Instructors made that idiot a Proctor. Tsk trainee,” Jen turned toward him with her hands on her waist and said, “Don’t let people just wrap their arms around you. Listen, I have a little brother who looks just like you with that same gullible look you have on your face. People like that are dangerous and they try to take advantage—”
A hand covered her mouth, it was Welf’s.
He had an apologetic smile, “She talks too much. Hehe, ugh.”
She gave him both a head-butt and a jab with her elbow, he curled and then hurriedly ran away from her approaching claw. Jen snorted then waved at Belle as she stylishly hurried after her counterpart. Her voice trailing after…
“Fix your clothes, it looks uncouth for a future student to dress so unseemlily!”
Belle had a wry smile as he felt the intense gazes on him. A deep tiredness resulted from his soul as he sighed. He stood straight and then rushed toward his specific train car which was supposed to share with 4 others.
‘I won’t survive the next day,’ Belle predicted, already done with the experiences he had for the day.
