Prologue:
Today started like any other day, I was in my room reading a variety of different fanfic. Recently I made it my goal to finish reading all the fanfics I could find for Royal Road. The first part where today diverted from the norm is when I randomly started to vividly remember all the entertainment I’ve seen up until now, for example the anime, manga, light novels, movies and TV series. Riding it off as just another off those random moments I have I continued my day.
Today like any other day I also thought that it was about time for me to get a job again. I haven’t had one since I quit my job some months ago and moved to Europe. But like usual I just think it is too much effort to write up the new format for my reference papers and go job hunting. So I continued lazing in my room scouring fanfic sites.
I continued this until about 9 o’clock until I head out to grab some pizza for dinner. Once I come back with my pizza I continue to read online till about 2.30 – 3 than went to sleep like usual. That’s when the second and by far most strange thing the day occurred, BTW I considered it still the same day as I hadn’t slept yet. Long story short I met a God. At first I thought I was dreaming, which is odd itself because I rarely dream, if I had to guess I’d say it’s because I miss my rem cycles. Anyway in this dream I arrived to clapping and a celebration banner, the one clapping had a form I couldn’t distinguish.
When it was finished with its clapping it began to speak, but its voice kept swapping between male and female confusing me even more. Anyway this thing told me that id won the first place prize for something called the “Lets mix things up” competition it randomly created. Apparently the qualification to enter this competition was to read a heap of manga and online novels/fanfics and watch anime, movies and TV series. Apparently if you fulfil this condition the being automatically added you.
The being introduced its self as Dal’ar, a God. Dal’ar told me that it put the names into, and I quote, “some spinney thing”, in which it spits out two names, first and second place and I managed to get first place. Upon asking Dal’ar told me those both first and second places are both the chance to reincarnate to a world like that found in fantasy genre. I asked it what the difference is between first and second place and found out the in second place you continue to live out your life until you die and then are randomly reincarnated into a world of magic and adventure. This gives the person the chance to use their current life to prepare for their next life, a pretty sweet deal.
For first place the reward is immediate reincarnation to a fantasy world that incorporates many aspects of the entertainment I have enjoyed in my life, which for a 21 year old is quite a bit. It also includes a point system that allows one to modify their future body to a certain extent. These points are gained from each anime series, manga series, light novel/fanfic, TV series and movies the winner has watched throughout their lives. Also because in this live I have only lived for about 1/5 of the average human lifespan, I will have 4/5 of my next natural life added onto my lifespan in the new world.
Because I was curious I asked Dal’ar about what would happen to my body, whether I personally would experience the death, whether it would experience death after I moved on or whether the body would be converted to energy to power the transfer of my soul. Dal’ar was quite amused by my question, as apparently it hadn’t thought of the last option. As a reward for my creativity and because I surprised it, Dal’ar told me that it send me to a family that had a good bloodline trait as a reward.
As we moved on to the modification stage of the process I found out that I had managed to earn 2502 points that can be used towards modification. I was then showed a list of races and stats that I could upgrade.

Starting potential depends on race and bloodline. No race starts with void storage or blood weapon.
Since the information was pretty detailed I didn’t have too many things to ask. My first question though was about race, I asked if there was a beastman race that was a fox that had both magical and physical potential and had additional tails that grew as it got stronger. Surprisingly enough there was such a race so I choose that spending my first 100 points. Next I asked about the void storage which turned out to be just what I hoped, an ability which lets a person store things in their own subspace where time was frozen. Apparently less than 1% of people are born with this ability and these people are highly sought out by merchants and adventures alike. The last question I had to ask was about the blood weapon. Dal’ar told me that this is a weapon that is with born when the owner is born. This weapon is tied to its owned and will grow with them. It will also gain its form once the owner has used a weapon type continuously for 3 months.
Thinking of what to invest in I ended up spending 2 hours doing the calculations on what I wanted. I considered asking about blood armour but decided against it because it wasn’t really needed. First I decided to add 4 upgrades to strength that cost me 350 points. Then I added 5 agility which costed 500 points, next was 2 to each wisdom and intelligence which costed me 250. 2 upgrades to vitality followed that losing a further 125 points and 3 to both stamina and learning speed/capacity costing 450. Next were 5 to void storage at 500 points and finally 3 to blood weapon at 225 points. After my spending spree I was left with 2 lonely points which I couldn’t use.
With my points assigned I told Dal’ar I was ready to move on, Dal’ar then told me that with my last 2 points I could decide on 2 of my physical traits that I would grow to have. Obviously I was surprised but Dal’ar said it was kept from me on purpose. With this new information I thought for a while until I had decided. I said that I wanted silver fur and that I wanted my body to have only pink muscle rather than white and red. Thinking about it for a while Dal’ar finally decided to allow me to have those features. I thought about asking for a specific magic affinity instead of the fur but I really wanted silver fur and I wasn’t giving up the pink muscle.
Now with all the decision I can make done me and Dal’ar talked for a bit until I couldn’t hold it anymore and asked the question that had been on my mind from the start, whether Dal’ar was male or female. After a small giggle I was informed that she was a female before she became a god and after that she could change gender at will. Now armed with the answer I informed Dal’ar that once I become a god I would take her on a date because I found her to be interesting. To my surprise the previously plain surroundings took on a light shade of pink which I took as her blushing. With all the necessities out of the way and Dal’ar still somewhat embarrassed she gave a quiet ok before saying goodbye and sending me on to my new life.
