"Yoo-hoo. Hey. Come on now, get up already."
A female voice was heard in the room. Sean was lying on the bed without any movement. Slowly though, he was starting to register the voice. 'Such a sweet voice. Is she calling for me? No way! I am not that lucky. Girls and me, it's not possible.'
"That's it. You either wake up now or I am going to pour hot water on you."
That did it. Sean's eyes were wide open and he sat up in an instant. "Ow," Sean held his neck as the pain surged all over.
"Hey, easy there." The girl came closer to check the white patch on Sean's neck.
Sean's eyes widened and his body suddenly felt super hot. He inhaled something so sweet, so intoxicating scent which was emanating from her. Sean's face moved closer to her, almost touching her hair. It was as if he was drunk, he didn't have any control over himself.
"You have to be careful moving your neck too harshly. If the wound opens up it will be a problem."
The girl moved away and Sean was surprised to find himself behaving in a such low manner. 'What was I doing? Why?'
"So, would you like to eat something? I am a decent cook."
"No, I would like to..." Sean tried to get out of bed but was stopped by the girl.
"What are you doing? Where do you want to go?"
"I want to call my station, tell them about the accident, and you. Also, I have to take you to the Dark center."
Sean tried getting down from the bed again and took two steps to just fall on the ground.
"What the?"
He noticed a thin chain wound around his waist whose one end passed through a round loop and was locked at the side leg of the bed.
"You did this?" Sean jerked the chain and looked at her.
"Yes. I don't want to go to the Dark center and I didn't want to take any chances."
"Come on. You can't do this to me, that too at my own house. My house" Sean looked puzzled "How did you know where I lived? How did you get me here? Didn't I pass out?"

"Well, I have my charms. You can thank me."
Sean plopped down on the bed. All of a sudden all the good thoughts in his mind vanished. He was having a headache now. 'She is an Odd. Of course, she wouldn't want to go to the Dark center. This is going to be a hard mission.'
"Okay, I will not take you to the Dark center. Will you open me please?"
"Mmm... No. I don't trust you with that. I will make something for you to eat. Rest."
She left the room and closed the door.
'Shit! What am I doing? How long have I been out? Sean looked at the digital clock set on the bedside table. It's the 5th today so, I have been here since yesterday mid-day. Okay, that's not so long. I can still explain my situation at the station if I could just get my phone. I have to be nice to her and make her believe that I will not send her to the Dark center, maybe then she will give it back to me. Yeah, better said than done.'
It was already getting dark outside and Sean's stomach growled with hunger. To pass the time he voice commanded the TV to switch on and instantly loud sound of a news reporter filled the room.
"This is a serious matter and the authorities are still discussing it."
He uttered something and the screen changed.
"This Perfect, Sean Riffler, a police officer, is accused of helping the prisoner, an Odd escape the authorities. Mr. Fritz has stated having the situation under control and arresting the culprit as soon as possible. Let's hear what he has to say-"
Sean's mind went blank. He could see colors but only black and white spots danced in front of his eyes. What was happening? Why was he tagged as an accused here when the person responsible for all this mess was those groups of Odds? It's not too late yet. If I can find my phone I can explain everything.
Sean turned his head to the opening of the door. The girl came in and opened the lock on the bed's leg making Sean free.
"Let's go."
Sean followed her to the dining area and both sat in silence looking at the food.
'I should talk to her about this. Holy shit! She is wearing my t-shirt. Why didn't I notice this earlier? Focus Seann!'
"I am sorry."
Sean stopped fidgeting with the spoon and looked at the girl.
"I am sorry for being a burden. I know things are not going well for you because of me."
Sean could feel the sincerity in her voice. His eyes got stuck on her full, pink lips which according to him were one of the most beautiful things he has seen in his life.
"You see, I am not against the idea of going to the Dark center but there are some things I need to do before meeting my end."
Sean was barely listening to anything. To him, her voice sounded soothing and her words felt like a sweet lullaby.
"We can help each other. I can help you clear your name of being an accused and you help me achieve a few things I want. Deal?"
"I am a part of the government. I am sure they would understand if I speak with them and hand you over to them. I don't need to work with you."
Sean was about to get up and leave when the glass window behind him broke and a round, white object came rolling and landed in the room. A red light in the middle of the small object beeped in a rhythm.
"Is that?"
Before Sean could finish his words the girl grabbed his hand and dragged him towards the bedroom and ducked under the bed. Both stayed down waiting for the impact when Sean spoke, "About that mutually helping each other deal you were suggesting... I am in."
