Trapped

"Alright, take her and I'll take him." Two men stood by the bars wearing masks.

"On it boss!" He said.

The strange guy entered her cell. He grabbed her arm and dragged her out. She was thrown towards a table where a guy caught her.

"Who are you?" She panicked.

"Max, Max Ellu..." He answered calmly.

"Where are we?"

"Not a clue if I'm honest!" He smiled at her.

She was shocked at how calm he was.

"How did you get here? Weren't you killed?" She shot

"Killed?"

"Yeah? You were killed on the second floor of the Oakley Opens? How are you alive? It was on the news!" She spat.

"Well, by the looks of it, I'm alive. At least I hope!" He flicked himself.

She was shocked and angry. He thought she was crazy! She even felt insane! Was he gaslighting her?

"Well, anyways they will be sending out food soon." He brushed off the conversation.

She sighed. They could die for all they know and he wouldn't even care. She had no idea how long they were going to be there.

She looked around. There seemed to be four cells at the least that she could see. Two beds each inside. With at least two guards that she had seen so far. Only one of them was here with a red pin on his vest.

"The pin is to figure out which is which if you're curious," Max said randomly.

"What, how did you even know I was thinking that?"

"Well, I'll tell you now that I can't read your mind but you made it pretty obvious!" He laughed.

I huffed. "How do you even know that is what it is for?"

He snickered. "You know for being a detective you are quite dumb!"

"Excuse me!" I yelled. "And how did you even know I was a detective?"

"You're the only detective known in the town duh!"

She was annoyed. He dared to call her dumb and poke at her for it. She was ready for his downfall.

"Here eat!" One of the guards yelled. Throwing the sandwiches at them.

The bread was flat with only a small slice of meat and cheese. She couldn't complain for she was starving. Plus, the fact that they kidnapped her.

She wondered what they had to do with the figure. Did they work for it? Did it frame her or something? If so what did it say? How did it get her here without being seen? What did it want? And where in the world were they?

She slowly finished her sandwich before being thrown right back into the cell. She was stuck with Max. Of course. They had to stick her with a cocky idiot.

"You done whining down there?" He mocked.

"Are you done existing?"

"Hey, if it weren't for me you'd slowly go insane from isolation!" He teased.

"I would rather go insane! Plus, I would be fine with the guards thank you very much!" She huffed.

"Oh please, they leave for what feels like weeks! You'd die!" He laughed.

"How would you even eat?"

"Well they would let me out to fend for myself I guess?" He answered.

"Why don't you escape?" She asked.

"Pff, only if I could find the door! This place is as big as an insane asylum!" He cried.

She looked down. She felt bad for him. He was stuck in this place for god who knows how long! Even being left to go insane without any human interaction.

"You going to bed or you just going to stand there?" He asked.

"Yeah, I'll go to bed..."

They sat there in the darkness. She thought how long until they would get home? Before she knew it the sun arose.

The cold concrete floor lit up a smidge through the small hole in the wall. She looked out to see nothing but trees. She felt desperate.

"Wakey wakey Chloe! Time to suffer more!" He smiled.

"I feel like you lost your sanity just by existing!" She rolled her eyes.

"Someone is not a morning person!"

"Yeah, when I'm stuck with you!" She argued.

"Ya know you two act like siblings. Are you?" A small voice came through the bars.

"God are they insane! Trapping children now!" Max cried.

Finally, they agreed on something she thought.

"Are you okay?" She panicked.

"Yes, though my brother doesn't like the food..." She sighed.

"Move over kid!" A guard ordered and she followed.

He opened the door.

"Max you know the drill. You take care of them while we are gone. There is more food for them too that will hopefully last!" He laughed.

God, how long will they be gone she thought.
