“What do you mean by Melisa is in trouble?” Ethan asked entering ivo's room. Ivo stood up from his chair and paced the room.
“What are you going to do? Wait, how do you know? Did the queen tell you this?” Ethan asked again, but Ivo still didn't reply.
“Are you going to answer me or just stay quiet” Ethan asked as he tried to pull Ivo's shoulder, Ivo grabbed his shoulder over his head in a judo throw slamming Ethan against the ground.
“Would you shut your trap?” Ivo asked but Ethan struggled.
“ She was injured—”
“Yes because of you.”
“I saved her, but you sent her back out there.”
“No, I didn't, she chose to.”
“You agreed to it, you knew that the chances of her making it are low, but you let her go anyway”.
“You don't understand what's happening, I have to do this is why I'm here.”
“No, you don't. You will never make a good king.”
“Who said I want to be a good king?”
Ivo let go of Ethan, as he crawled towards the bed. He stared at Ivo's face but for a brief moment, it was full of regret, but soon it disappeared behind his cold face.
“Ethan, times are changing. Tides are rising fast and we have to adjust. I don't need to be good, I need to be strong. Yes, you can consider me to be a monster for sending Melisa out there, but she is part of this just as you are part of it.”
“What would happen to her?” Ethan asked in a confused tone.
“I don't know, but I know one thing, Melisa will come back tonight.”
Melisa ran as fast as she could, but she was never faster than an arrow, it pierced through the stag where its heart was supposed to be as it cried and staggered falling over.
She could hear the bow creaking again as she felt the sharp pain on her back piercing through her spine, she lost the feelings on her legs as she fell over, but that wasn't enough to stop her as she crawled toward the supposed dead stag.

Even movement was a sheer work as the pain was almost unbearable, she had to bite her lips to stay conscious as she continued to drag forward, she could hear the footsteps behind her as Jetta drew closer.
“You know I think you are either stupid or an idiot. Why don't you just die?” Jetta asked as Melissa felt the cold dagger slid into her back again. This time she cried in pain and finally lost all the strength on her limbs.
Her sight was blurry and full of blood, her other senses were dead, and she could barely see Jetta walked to the stag to cut off one of its horns. It took some effort, but she finally did it before she walked over to Melisa.
“You can hear your heart beat breaking off, that means you are dying right. I want you to die know that you failed your little lord but don't faint, he will be joining you soon” she announced as she closed Melisa's eyes.
Melisa felt strength leave her body, she could hear her heart beating. The bell tolled in the distance. It was already over she thought.
Sorry I failed my lord, sorry I failed master, sorry Ivo my heart is always yours she called out as she sobbed. She didn't feel the pain anymore, something that Ivo had told her that the body shuts down the pain rectors when the person is close to death.
She waited for her heart to stop, but it never did, it began to pound—painfully so. At first, it was bearable, but soon it began to pound even harder, like it pumped fire instead of blood. If this how dying feels, then it sucks she thought, but she couldn't help but groan in pain.
She was angry, very angry. She could feel the rush of energy, she wanted to kill Jetta in the worst way imaginable, her limbs were gaining strength. Her mouth tasted like blood and her eyes were red. She could hear better far better.
She slowly rose to her feet as she could hear Ivo's voice, go now! She turned to run but looked back at the stag. It was slowly dying too just like her, she walked to it and laid her hand on it bleeding side saying the words Ivo had told her too.
The light became brighter as she closed her eyes to slowly open them, but the stag was gone, in place of it, was an egg and a silver horn. She clenched her fist around the horn and hid the egg to come back for it later
Something told her that it was too important to let go as a prize for the game, her back arched with every moment, but she had just one thought that fuelled her, she had to kill Jetta.
She had run out the tunnel, the bell was towing in the distance, she didn't have the time to search for her swords, but she had to manage with her bare fist. She clenched it feeling the overwhelming strength from it as she picked up the pace searching for Jetta.
Her legs were full of strength as she ran through the woods, she had picked up a rusty sword on her way down as she descended hills, her eyes could see Jetta in the distance jumping from tree to tree. Melisa ran even faster to catch up with her.
Soon she was behind her as Jetta turned to see Melisa on the ground running at her, her face for a brief moment was filled with surprise, but she continued her run.
“You're too late” she called out
“Not too late to kill you” Melisa replied as she jumped over as high as Jetta pulling her down. They both roll down in the snow, Jetta was up first with her knife, but Melisa kicked her away, rolling to get back on her feet.
“Oh, I can't wait to cut your head off” Melissa called out.
