Tonight's encounter happened as I was going home.
A man in his late twenties or early thirties approached me in front of the gardens of the station saying, “brother, do you have any candles?”
I was a bit baffled at the request so I said, half laughing, “sorry but I don't usually bring any with me.”
“No, no. I mean at home.”
“I should have some tea lights, why?”
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
“Can you bring them to me? I really need them.”
I didn't really know what to tell him but, after some pondering, I said, “sure, wait here for me.”
He thanked me and I went home, left the dog there, got a few tea lights from a drawer and went outside again.
I found him where I had left him, in front of the park. When he saw me he said, “bro, do you have them?”
“Yeah, sure,” I said and gave him the tea lights.
“Thanks, you've been a great help, we forgot to pay the bills and they cut off our electricity,” he said and left before I could say anything, baffled as I was.
