Listless footsteps echoed across the sands, a man staggered forward with a slumped posture, his pupils were wide almost consuming the green iris that surrounded them. It’s over. Everything’s left. Why am I still here? The sands were a mixed with ash dust and blood, creating a grey paste that made loud shluping sounds every time the man stepped on it. He wore nothing but an ill-fitting tunic and shorts not even shoes to his name, his feet had long since been caked in blood. He squinted as the red sun glared down on him from its perch in the sky. The rest covered by multi-colored luminescent clouds. There was really no point in moving, at the end of the day there was nothing but this paste, in every direction no matter how far he traveled he would never find anything different. Despite this he staggered forward one foot in front of the other, his mouth agape as if he didn’t understand a single thing before him. *Pap, pap, pap, pap* The sun had fallen from its perch in the hole in the sky, leaving the man in darkness, he continued to stagger forwards as if it wasn’t even there. *Pap, pap, pap, pap* The moon was in the sky now, gazing weakly with its cracked visage down at the man. *Pap, pap, pap, pap* then once more there was darkness.

New skill gained!

Exhaustion resistance:

Gives you 1% resistance to some of the negative effects of conditions sorted in the exhaustion category such as hunger, sleep deprivation and dehydration

The man continued to stagger forwards, a rare thought entering his head the fighting was fun at least. And I liked getting stronger. To bad that’s all moot now. *Pap, pap, pap, pap* in the short time when the sun was present the man saw something of note, a steep drop off in the sands, falling at least twenty feet in a matter of meters length. He turned and started to walk towards it, staggering with each step. As he neared the drop off, a new aroma invaded his nose. Salt. He paid it no mind and walked till he was standing just at the edge of the drop off, idling. “AHHHH!” The sand collapsed underneath him, causing him to go tumbling head over feet down the drop off. *Thunk* he laid on the sand for a minute, he clawed his hand around the sand bringing a hand full Infront of his face. No blood, just the ordinary combination of ash, dust and sand. He pushed himself to his feet and began to stagger forwards again. The blood must be beginning to dry. Dead. People realized the path to power and now everything was silent. Blood soaked the lands, plant life shriveled. The need for death was unquenchable. The grandfather said that things weren’t all anarchy and blood eighty years ago.

But it’s hard to sell that literally everything was different just one lifetime ago. *Pap, pap pap pap pap pap*

Exhaustion resistance has increased to 10,

The man after seeing twenty red suns stopped. In front of him was a pit, stretching down into the earth so far that the bottom had been replaced with darkness. The man gazed into that void. Nothing means it can be anything. He jumped, the walls of the pit and the wind rushed by him. His head began to hurt, to ache worse than it ever had before.

Integration successful

“Aren’t you the cutest little thing my little Robby.” Said a high-pitched dulcet voice, while looking at a young boy no older than six months old being held out by his mother for all to see.

“He’s cute right.” Said the mother holding the boy a smile on her face.

“And so quiet and well behaved too. He almost never seems to cry or make a fuss.” The boy raised his head looking straight ahead, a feral glit appearing in his eyes. The woman jumped placing her butt on the armrest of the bench shivering while not taking her eyes off the boy. The boy glanced around. This isn’t sand. And I feel so refreshed! He smiled when he saw the woman, A bit of a giant but I can still go in for the kill if I do this right. The boy jumped forward. Or at least he tried too, instead all he ended up doing was jerking his head forward slightly. W-w-What?! Some alien force telekinetically moved the boy’s body so that he was facing upwards towards a woman’s face.

“Now you stop that! No scaring my friends!.” Who does this lady think she is that she can just talk down to me like that! Well! Just because I can’t move doesn’t mean I’m helpless! While glaring at the woman he rolled his tongue back triggering his gag reflex, he held it there for fifteen seconds. Then, *Bleghhh!” He projectile vomited on her face. “You know what maybe we should do this another time.” Said the mother vomit dripping down her face.

“Yeah another time.” Said the woman. They both ran in opposite directions.

Yeah! Well hurry up! The mother ran with the child in her arms. She kicked open the door of a small shack with a thatched roof and wooden walls. Placing the baby in a cradle she ran back outside and washed her face with water. She walked back into the house a refreshed smile on her face. How much longer is this going to take?

“Don’t do that again. It makes mommy very mad, alright.” She wagged her finger at the baby. Yeah. Next time I’ll kill you. He spent the next hour staring at the ceiling angerly grinding his teeth.

“Honey I’m home! How’s the baby.” A man with a large frame and a rugged but handsome face walked into the house, he had a sword at his hip and long flowing robes adorning his body.

“He’s been acting weird today. I think we should call one of the healers.” The mother rubbed her head in stress. She had long black hair a sharp angular nose and kind eyes.

“Don’t worry.” He embraced her. “I should be able to schedule a healer tomorrow.” This man has a sword. I’ll have to kill him and take it. Although it may be too big for me to use. Wait. Didn’t that egomaniac of a woman say something a few seconds ago? Eh it probably wasn’t important.

“Come on little baby boy. It’s time to eat. Your going to get a carrot today.” Said the mother. That’s it. Baby boy. She’s calling me baby boy, their all really big and I can’t move. I must be a baby. The boy gave himself a metaphorical pat on the back for his deduction. As soon as he had eaten his carrot, he fell asleep in the crib, feeling more full than he ever had in months.

“HONEY THE HEALER’S HERE!” Bellowed a masculine voice the noise echoing throughout the house. The healer was standing at the doorway she was a frail old woman that looked like all of her fat and muscle had vanished years ago.

YES, A MILLION TIMES YES! The old woman swung her hands down above the boy’s body, spritzing him with a blast of healing energy. The baby let out a sigh of relief, an unseen tension that once was in its body disappearing.

“See honey. I told you the kid would be all right.” Said the father giving his wife a kiss on the cheek.

Then the baby lit on fire. His straw sheets and his cradle consumed by flames. The old woman staggered back while looking at the flaming baby.

“That isn’t supposed to happen.” Both the mother and the father looked at the flaming cradle with fisheyes, unable to comprehend the sight Infront of them. The cradle exploded in a hail of flaming wood chips, flying all throughout the house. The mother turned to look at the old woman a look of unending rage on her face,

“DID YOU JUST TURN MY BABY INTO A FIREBOMB!” Screamed the mother her eyes glistening with tears. The old woman staggered back.

            “Ma’m I.”

Fred sucked in a deep breath of smoky air. He sprung to his feet lowering into a squat and facing his head to the ceiling. “MY NAME IS FRED FREDRICKSOOOOOOOOOON! AND I WEAR IT WITH PRIDE!” The trio turned from there arguing to look in the direction of the yelling.

“What did you do to my son! He doesn’t have red hair.” The woman’s fiery hate turned toward Fred. Fred smiled at her in his naked splendor hopping around and shaking himself a bit to get his bearings. “I’ll kill you! You naked child killer.” The mother jumped towards him with a knife in her hand, rushing through the air. Fred darted to the side avoiding the knife, his fist smashed into her face, sending her hurtling through the wall of the shack. “I never try to kill children!” He grinned as a message popped up Infront of his face.

Fred’s head snapped to the man with a sword. He drew it from his sheath, looking at Fred with a killer’s glare and a snarl. He jumped forward raising his sword into the air. Fred appeared behind the man snake swinging and hammered him into the ground creating a crater. He hammered down again. And again, until the man was nothing but a bloody mess of caved in bones. He snatched the sword from the man’s grip and turned to the healer she was quivering in fear, to terrified to even move. A sick grin grew on Fred’s face. “That magic looked cool! Good job!” She opened her mouth to respond. Only for a sword to stab through it coming out the other side, drenched in her blood. Fred grinned, I like this place.
