Chapter two: The village.

Chapter two: The village.

Fred stood in the burning shack completely nude a grin on his face. I might as well check over my info to make sure everything is okay. First. Show me traits.

Traits>

Fool: Incapable of learning any skills.

Physically talented: You learn all physical skills ten times faster than normal. Skill learning de-buffs does not affect any physical skills

Hippocampus damaged: Certain long-term memories lost.

Feral: All Physical stats increase by one per level. Animalistic instincts. Loss of social conventions.

Yup my traits are all doing good. I’m still very Fred. Alright next. Show me skills

Skills> Exhaustion resistance 10

Fred’s eyes widened as he took in a deep breath of smoky air. What! Didn’t the system say that all my skills were intact! What’s wrong!? I felt like I was using my passive skills in that fight. Did they just disappear suddenly? System tell me what’s wrong with skills!

Due to extraplanar location the system had to downsize. There are still skills, but any that don’t need system support were removed.

Fred breathed a sigh of relief, okay. So, I haven’t lost anything but my class skills. Good thing my class was weak I was just a fighter anyways not like any of those skills will be missed. A shiver of intuition traveled through Fred’s body Okay system. Show me racial buffs.

Basic human>

Buffs: Unlimited stamina the only things that can make you unable to function are debuffs. Corruption and evil essences have no effect on you.

Debuffs: Cannot cultivate word energy.

Those are two new things. We have the usual stamina buff. But what’s that new one. What are essences? Cultivating world energy. Is that just a flowery description of farming?

?

A question mark. So, you can’t tell me. Great. Fred stomped his foot in frustration. With how many things that have changed. Could it be? Fred’s heart began to beat in his throat as a cold sweat broke out on his skin. Show me titles.

Locked.

He breathed an even deeper sigh of relief. That thing could never be unsealed. Never… Alright. System is there anything else that’s new?

System boon.

System boon. Well, I like the sound of that! Show me system boon!

System boon: Respawn, can resurrect upon death by unnatural causes. Either by renewal of corpse or possession of juvenal vessel {Can be upgraded}

Fred’s heart began to thump like a war drum in his chest as exhilaration ran through his bones. “WHOOOOOOOOO! I FRED FREDERICKSON CANNOT BE KILLED!” His ear perked up as he heard someone yell.

“That shacks on fire!” and then another person.

“Did you hear that scream someone’s trapped inside!” Based off the footsteps he was hearing a crowd of people began to gather around the shack. Just in time to. With the flames licking at his body, not even hot enough to burn him. Fred walked towards the corpse of the old woman her back hunched up against the wall as she stared face down her head propped up by the sword. Fred pulled the sword out of the woman’s body and examined it as she fell face first to the floor. This thing is pretty good, it’s sharp enough to nick me even if the wielder had level ten strength.

“That’s private wen’s house!” Someone shouted. A clamor of conversation grew from the crowd the footsteps getting louder along with the sound of sloshing water. A feral grin grew on Fred’s face. Time to rip and tear.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.

The crowd stood in terror as they watched some of the nearby guards run towards the house with buckets of water. What would happen if the private died after retiring to this quaint little town? Did he have any friends in the military? They were weak all it would take is a few low-level cultivators to wipe them out. The private living wasn’t much better, they had spent so much time watching and not doing anything. Who’s to say private Wen wouldn’t just kill them right then and there upon learning that? A nude man with fiery red hair and green eyes screaming with feral killing intent. Walked out the front door of the shack. Passing through the flames as if they weren’t even there. He looked at the crowd with a sickly smile. “I!” He thumped his fist into his chest a snarl of pride on his face. “AM!” He stomped his foot into the ground creating a shock wave that collapsed the shack behind him.

“Fred Fredericksoooooooooooon!” He bellowed squatting down and screaming to the heavens. His hand tightening around his sword

“That’s private Wen’s sword!” Pointed out a member of the crowd. Fred surged through the crowd. A series of thunks resounding behind him as bodies fell to the ground.

Fred’s eyes darted to the message before glancing back to his surroundings. From either side of the dirt road he was on there were guards running towards him, blades drawn. He jumped into the air, throwing his sword in a perfect spinning motion towards the left group of guards.

He turned towards the other group of guards. They were fleeing in the opposite direction, their weapons abandoned on the mud. A hail of swords struck them with pinpoint accuracy.

“NONE CAN STAND BEFORE THE FRED!” Bellowed Fred. He darted over to the burning wreck of a shack, grabbing a flaming stick of wood from the rubble. He grinned looking at the row of thatched roofs. Burn. He jogged along the road lighting all of the rooves on his right side on fire as he moved, leaving a trail of smoking rubble behind him. After a few minutes of this he slowed to a walk a bored frown on his face. If I go too fast I’m just going to put the fire out. They should have torches here right. Those will allow for more fun times. Fred jumped fifty feet into the air no doubt giving many village members a grade A view of his snake. His eyes quickly darted around the town. To the left. He landed, running at a breakneck speed to the left. Crashing through houses as he moved. He skidded to a stop landing Infront of a man whimpering while curled up into a ball. “Hey you! Where are all the torches.” The man glanced up, catching a glimpse of Fred’s nude splendor, His whimpering increased.

“Please don’t kill me. Their probably in the guard tower. The tallest tower on the walls.” Fred nodded.

“Thank you. I’ll let you live because of that. Leave this village quickly. And hope that you never see me again. I don’t show mercy.” Said Fred. He jumped even higher into the air. Scanning the walls of the town. That way. Again, he ran, catching glimpses of surprised faces and people covering their eyes as he barreled headfirst through their homes. Unclothed. Finally, he arrived at a very large tower. He punched the door. His hand grew red, and he wobbled on his feet for a moment. It’s a steel door I can’t punch through. No matter. His fist flew through the stone to the side of the door, creating a big enough hole for him to step through. He stepped through the hole, smiling at a man sitting at a round wooden table. He was wearing full plate armor covering everything but his head. And held a mug in his hand. He looked at Fred frozen by the sudden appearance. “Do you know where the torches are? I want to burn this place to the ground.” The man threw his mug to the ground beer spilling on the stones, he pulled a large broadsword out from under the table.

“HA! The torches are in the middle floor of the tower. Not like you need to know that though. Because-“ Fred jumped forward his fist tearing towards the man.

“Let’s fight then!” Said Fred the man raised his broad sword just in time to block the strike. He looked at Fred and smiled with joy.

“No aura yet so strong! This will be fun!” His sword vanished along with the man. I have long overcame invisibility spells. Fool! Fred focused on his hearing ignoring the other senses. Step, step, stepThe footsteps echoed as though they could have come from anywhere. Shit! I can’t find him. Something sharp pierced his lower back. A voice whispered into his ear.

“I hate to break it to you. But this is where it ends” idiot! You don’t stab someone with a strength stat of fifty no matter how sharp your blade may be. Fred tensed his muscles; He felt a tug on the blade. He held it still. Another tug. Didn’t move an inch.

“Pretty nice sword you got there.” Fred grinned as he tensed even more drawing the sword into his body.

“But. That’ll kill you!” Fred’s grin grew wider.

“It could. If I lack the muscle control, then I probably won’t be able to pull this off. But I have that. I may be stupid but that doesn’t mean I’m not good at anything.” He wiggled around a bit to fit the guard through tuning it to a very specific angle to slip it through the intestines. If he had not been stabbed near the intestines this wouldn’t be possible. The guard came out the other side, Fred pulling it the rest of the way. He held the sword in a two-handed grip. And began to swing it in circles, sporadically changing in height to strike the man down. In just a moment, the man reappeared. Laying on the ground, bisected.

Not paying his death throes any mind Fred walked towards the stair well, a slot cut into his lower back. “The system really has changed. I’m surprised it even grants skills like that. That skill was not balanced.” He walked up the stairs. Still nude.

Fred reached the middle of the stair well. He saw a doorway in the wall that surrounded him, he broke the wall and walked through. After a few minutes of searching he got his hands on a torch. He immediately kicked a hole through the wall of the stone tower and jumped over to where the row of burned down houses were. Sword in his right-hand torch in his left hand. Gathered around the wrecks were crowds of people, watching the flaming wrecks with listless gazes. Fred landed in the middle of the crowd crushing someone under his foot. People recoiled upon seeing him, standing on the paste of another person’s body, wearing nothing but his birthday suit. “Gotta get my levels back.” He said with a grin. He dropped the torch and dashed through the crowd his sword swinging above his head in refined pattern. Dropping the towns folk to the ground.

He darted in the other direction, those civilians too falling to the ground. Dead

There we go. All dead. He walked back over to his torch. Lighting it on one the flaming wrecks. He ran by the buildings lighting there rooves on fire then forgetting about them. He would decapitate any people he saw, ignoring them Pretty soon the village was a burning wreck, covered in corpses. Though whenever Fred encountered a child he would jettison them to safety. Outside the town, which was surrounded by a lush forest. That was his code after all. After the children were brought out of the town he stood atop the walls smiling at the sight before him. Such a great thing to watch.

Yes! Fred looked up at the sky. Wonder how long this place will last. Then they’ll all be gone…. The air turned somber.
