Yue Lunaste is a monkey from the world of Pluas, or at least she was. Until her entire world was destroyed, and she was left alone, trapped in the in-between by an AI determined to keep her alive despite her best efforts. However, one day while sword dancing beneath a tree, she is kidnapped by a dead drunk Sun Wukong and taken to Flower-Fruit Mountain to be his wife. Now she has a whole new world to explore, monkeys to teach, and a Sun Wukong to deal with. This fiction is basically a rewrite of Journey to the West, except the main character ends up with Sun Wukong before he rampages in heaven, and she has to figure out all of the magic shenanigans by herself. No invisible gods, convenient lore dump mountain gods, or any help from heaven available. With better character development throughout the story, some funny explanations, and a few changes that I think fit better than in the original. Mostly, this story has fun with the original content, and isn't meant to disrespect the original story or the culture it comes from in any way. I highly recommend you check out the original Journey to the West, and even the Fangshen Yanyi is you have the time. They're two great works of Chinese literature that really inspired me when making the story. Enjoy!
