Chapter 63: Monster Graveyard

Isaac looked up at the heavens. In the distance, the basilisk coursed through the air like a meteor.

Flexing his knees to tense his muscles, Isaac jumped. His body crunched the ground, catapulting him toward the beast.

While Isaac was in the air, he raised his Qi. A red and black aura formed around him. Magma filled his muscles, giving him once-forgotten strength.

To ensure that no one would be hurt, Isaac called out his Oversoul. The monster promptly answered.

His right hand liquidized, human flesh giving way to glowing liquid, as if it existed on the real and spiritual plane at the same time.

Along with the increase in power came an unbearable pain. It seemed as if that was the limit of binding if Isaac. Zay had worked hard on the seal.

Isaac's technique collided with the monster, causing a tremendous explosion that leveled the air. The cultivator held his technique in such a way that it shattered the monster from the inside. He went through the monster's body, coming out from the other side.

From the sky, viscera and blood rained down. The monster's poison was the sentence of its own kind, bringing death and destruction to the B-Class.

"Bravo." The voice echoed across the battlefield.

Isaac turned quickly, identifying his new enemy.

"Looks like the rumors were true. That dragon really brought a guard dog along. And to think he would come running like the dog he is," the man said.

Isaac recognized the cultivator without difficulty. The leader of the Draco, Xiamei.

Isaac had not been in this world for very long. However, it was easy to know the order of power.

Some clans dominated cultivation there. Among them, the Draco clan stood out as being ruthless. They did not yet have membership in the higher realms, so this had to be an attempt to ascend.

Isaac looked at the cultivator. "And to think you people have the audacity to show up at my school? Don't you know who I am, insolent? Or are you people stupid enough to even think about respecting the hierarchy here."

The man drew a dagger from his robes. Isaac got into battle pose, preparing for combat.

By the time he realized it, it was too late. The cultivator's target was not Isaac. Deftly, Xiamei took the dagger and shoved it into his stomach.

At the same moment, an explosion of Qi leveled the region. Even Isaac stuck his feet into the ground with magma to keep himself stable.

The explosion was only the beginning. Soon, a poisonous Qi, which corrupted everything it touched, proliferated.

"Are you still going to bark? Do you think I didn't know that I am no match for you?" the man shouted. "My sacrifice is nothing close to what will happen to my family."

When the corrupt aura stopped, the surroundings were destroyed, rotten. Quickly, a transformation began. In the place of the human, a humanoid figure surrounded by corruption was born. It was as if human and monster were united into one degenerated form.

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

Isaac swallowed hard. Certain memories were unforgettable. The first time a cultivator witnessed a Monsterization was without a doubt one of them.

This time, however, he ready.

Isaac prepared himself for combat. With his limited power, this would be a tough fight. His enemy now had to be on the same power level as a monster in the middle of Class A. In any case, there was no point in talking anymore. The monster's grotesque form proved any lack of humanity.

This time, the enemy made the first move. The monster launched itself into the air with its teeth showing, like a shark attracted by blood.

Isaac adopted a defensive position, meeting the enemy with his fists charged with Qi. His body, unaccustomed to fighting at this level since long ago, had difficulty keeping up with the monster's movements.

Isaac internalized his senses to feel his core. He had enough Qi, but the problem would be to dose his energy. Any slip could kill everyone there.

Draco's fighting style was fierce. The attacks were animal, with no pattern, all aiming at Isaac's vital points. From the poison built up in the monster's paws, any attack would be dangerous.

Isaac took a deep breath. The thing in front of him was no longer a cultivator. It was a monster. That meant it was time for Slay.

Isaac, once a destroyer, would need to fight outside his comfort zone. He expanded his aura enough to repel the monster, at least for the moment.

He let his aura condense until it became a thin layer of magma. Isaac covered his entire body with the substance. His Qi detection was enough to track the enemy's movements.

Isaac created new layers of magma, one after another. It didn't take long for the substance to isolate even sound to no longer pass through the hot walls.

Now came the hard part. With an uncompromising effort, the cultivator ordered his Qi to turn the entire rock liquid, so that Isaac was now inside an immense ball of magma.

The monster, driven by primordial instincts, attacked Isaac in desperation. Isaac prepared himself. He was about to taste his own poison.

When he felt the monster's claws tear at his flesh, he remembered everything he had done to Dante. Sure, it was for his own good, but the pain was still there. Isaac had not told his disciple, but there was a reason this was not a common method. If Dante hadn't had such enormous willpower, it wouldn't have worked.

After the claws penetrated Isaac enough, he grabbed the monster. He turned to the creature, giving a long smile.

"Now!" he shouted to his Monster Core. If he could freely use his Oversoul, or had enough Qi, he wouldn't need help.

But the chance didn't matter. Under the current conditions, Isaac needed an old friend. All the magma covering Isaac and the monster moved at once. Like a tornado, the energy engulfed them both as Isaac held the creature.

When he felt the monster weaken, Isaac asked his companion to change the consistency of the magma again.

This time, the change was immediate. Before he was caught in his own trap, Isaac jumped. In his place, only a small hollow space remained in the volcanic stone fortress.

As the structure cracked from the monster's efforts, Isaac channeled all his Qi into place, unleashing a continuous stream of magma.

The structure acted as an incubator, trapping the monster in there while Isaac cooked it with Qi-enforced magma.

The black rock bubbled with the pressure of Isaac's Qi and the monster's. After a short time, the movements ceased. Isaac quickly sealed the hole in the rock. If he didn't, that technique would cause a real natural disaster on the entire continent, not just the region.

When he had finished, he took a deep breath and looked inside himself.

His inner world was a region of black rock. Along it, he spotted the shape of an immense dog. He could not make direct contact with Goliath. Not yet. Not with that veil getting in the way.

But he knew Zay was right. If Isaac was exposed, it might attract unnecessary attention to the sect.

All around him, hundreds of monster bodies had been buried in the battle. Meanwhile, in the distance, the attack still continued, with monsters facing Slayers. There was still the other A-Class, after all.

After checking that everything was right, Isaac decided to go straight to the castle.

Something smelled bad. The elder's decision to sacrifice himself was causing the master to be suspicious.

On the way, he took a quick look at the situation of his pupils. Things were not good, too. He took a deep breath. Some battles needed to be fought on the edge. That was cultivation. He trusted each of them to excel.

As he was about to return to the castle, however, he saw something different approaching Hector and Rim. It was as if external monsters had found a breach in the sect Qi dome.

To make sure that everything was right, Isaac picked up the communicator and asked the help of an old friend. The Slayer promptly said he would take a look at the situation.

Now, it was time to return to headquarters and find out what was waiting for him.
