The Surveillance Van, Manhattan, NYC
Rocky explained to the group (and Commander Cassandra Cole via video chat) that he somehow how found Agent Timothy Penders who was presumed to be dead after communication was lost with him. However, he relayed the information to Rocky at the cost of his life.
"I can't believe Agent Penders was somehow still alive," the Commander sadly stated. Her eyes look downtrodden for a split second. "We should trying tracking down the facility via phone calls in Hell's Kitchen."
"I'll see what I can do, Commander." said Milo.
"Agent Sutton, Cruz, and Crawfish, you head for Hudson Yards late tonight. Don't let me down."
"Yes ma'am."
"Yes ma'am."
"Alright."
"Good, best of luck Team Black Pumas." The commander says as she ends the call.
"You should take a break for a bit, Crawfish. You look uneven."
"Whatttt? Pssshhh-Don't even worry about Vic, I'm fine."
Victoria was taking taken a bit back from the nickname. "Vic?!"
"Shoot, I should've know not to say that. Vicky's a way better nickname."
"Just roll with it, Victoria." Said Milo, "That's just how he views."
"Honestly, I would prefer him not to call me that." said Victoria.
"Gotcha, Victoria. If it makes you uncomfortable, I'll stop." said Rocky with a wide-eyed grin which quick changed into a frown. "To tell you the truth though, I am a little uneven right now. Agent Penders....I wonder what he was thinking during his last moments."
"Was he thinking of his family? Friends? Fellow Agent Colleagues? The fact he couldn't complete his mission? That he was going to die alone? It makes me think how I'm fated to die one day. It's a little scary..."
Danielle decided to pat Rocky on his shoulder to slightly comfort him. She wanted to show him that he was around people who would want his safety as much as him. "Rocky...."
"At the same time though, I would want my last moments to have an impact as well. The USB Drive might literally be one of the last remaining things of him. Proof that he existed. On his file, he had no living relations or spouse or children. This agency was all he had and he gave his life for it. So like hell I'm gonna waste this opportunity and die against these thugs!"
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
The space, as small as it was, felt reinvigorated. Their mind back on the bigger picture, to take down The Reapers. Everyone glanced and nodded as each other.
"Well said, Rookie." said Victoria as she had a little smirk built up.
"Thanks, Victoria."
"Alright team, let's get everything set up for tonight. Briggs, get that everything into the usb into the database. We always need a backup." Victoria just entered into leader mode. "Cruz, we're gonna need some intel, even if they means heading into the underbelly part of town, and Crawfish...."
"Yeeee?"
"Take a break. It's our fault we almost lost you today. We'll recon with you later, tonight."
"Okay, I'll just head to the subway and bother some people."
"Great, at least he's not heading into the Hudso- WAIT WHAT?!"
"Victoria, he already left." said Danielle.
"You know I deal with a lot of hardheaded agents. This takes the cake!" Victoria mentally face-palming herself.
THE SUBWAY, TIMES SQUARE-42ND STREET, NYC
"I paid 2.90 to get into this subway, this better be worth it."
Rocky Crawfish in his lifetime had done of lot of stupid things. He disrupted a royal Baistan wedding and cause an uproar into a full blown country war. He unknowingly sold black arms to civilians in France causing a bigger revolution than the one that beheaded several royal people including the one that started that said revolution. Almost lost a big toe to a pet crocodile. You know, the usual dumb stuff youth adults do.
Now he wants to test if he jump over from one section of subway to other side right before the train could potentially meet him in the middle and sent him back to the "lobby".
More stupidly, there was an unprecedented amount of birds in the subway. Definitely not the most boring day in New York's history.
Rocky could hear the subway train rolling come this way. He prepared himself. Knees, buckled. Glutes, tighted. Obituary, never gonna be finished.
He sprinted toward the tracks and he jumped. In the split second he was jumping across, he came into the eye contact with the conductor. He gave a smile and wave.
Oh great another daredevil, the conductor thought.
As the train made its stop for others passengers, Rocky stood still on the floor of the side of the station. Not exactly the most sanitary or most exact, I would want to lay after a playful attempt on risking your life but you do, Rocky. You do you.
Among the pidgeon and doves surrounding the man came a crow, it was clear the crow was different amount the others and not because it was different color wise. It was an outsider thing.
Rocky pulled his upper body and sat crisscross applesauce among the birds. He looked at the crow and felt something deep in his soul when coming into contact with this corvid.
"You're a lot like me aren't you pal? A little strange too I take it." The crow turned its head in interest. Rocky took his finger and gently patted the crow.
"How about we go on a little journey together?" Rocky extended his hand and the crow slowly climbed up his shoulder.
While they had that other conversation, another subway car pulled up and they decided to take it. Another people and passengers walking by looking at the pair. Then quickly turned their attention back to themselves.
This is the most likely New York to happen. These people were not fazed.
As the subway moved to its destination, Rocky's eyes told the look of a man on a mission. Cause he was, but that's besides the point.
"Watch on from below, Mister Penders. Your death will not be in vain."
