Chapter 1: A God's Sorrow

Chapter 1: A God's Sorrow

(Goddess of Darkness and Death’s POV)]

I watched the world called Earth. I saw the children that will be summoned to my world against their will. But I can't do anything about it, because it was the actions that the humans had taken, and as a god, I can't interfere. It's not because I don't care, but because it's the law among us gods. To interfere we must accomplish several conditions to save those children, but I can't.

So young, all of them... what a shame. Although one of my authorities is death, I care about life. To celebrate death, you must have a fulfilling life. All that I can do is give those children powers to survive in that world, which is extremely cruel and dangerous… That is, it's what I would like to do, but it won't be me who will "welcome" them to this world. It will be my stupid and egotistical sister, who is the main divinity of this world.

She will bless those children, and only she can interfere with them. Well, I'm not that worried about those children which she will be blessing; my worries befall on the one who isn't "perfect", the one whose eyes can't see. My sister hates those which aren't perfect and beautiful. Because of her foolishness and of the humans which follow her, every other race in our world despises the human race.

Instead, most of them believe and pray to me, which makes the humans and my sister hate me. We aren't the only gods of this world, but we are the greatest. Me, Nix, the Goddess of Darkness, Future and Death, and my sister, Lumina, Goddess of Light and War.

I watch as light envelopes the children of man; a total of thirty of them were in the same room. Oh, it seems that there's one adult woman among them. Also, the one whose eyes can't see is there too. How cruel. I watch as my sister, with one of the humans, a boy who my sister must be considering perfect, mock him.

Arrogant, with blue eyes and blonde hair, together with a handsome face, he's narcissistic, and cruel to the blind boy. My sister uses magic to keep the other children from raising their voices, forcing them to watch.

(Lumina): "I will not allow you, vile creature, to taint my pure humans. I will banish you to a place where you will die the way you deserve, and no matter what, you will never be able to meet the others again.”

She then gives the power that she had prepared for the blind one to her chosen one. Really, how did she turn this cruel…

Wait, is she…

She's sending him to the past! This is my chance! I will not allow this child to die like this! Maybe I can't do much, but there are some things that I can do! Because of my authority as a goddess of the future, by using magic, I can travel through time! I will follow this child and help him!

(1.800 years ago, in an unknown continent, Akatsuki's POV)

I fell on the sand. At least I think that's sand. I touch the ground around me, in search for my cane. I soon find it. Thank god that it hasn't fallen far away from me. I get up. I can smell the sea behind me and hear the sound of the waves. Where the hell am I…

This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.

(Akatsuki): "Kkh!"

Suddenly, an enormous pain runs through my whole body. Something comes up to my throat and I vomit it out. This taste... it's blood. I can feel my skin being torn apart... it hurts, so much.

I fall onto the sand, and then I pass out.

(Nix's POV)

I knew it. His body is rejecting the mana around him. I look at him as he dies slowly. Excellent, this is my chance. I materialize in my human body and kneel by his side, waiting. There! His soul was about to leave his body, but I grab it and push it back into his body, which is still being destroyed by the mana in the air.

Now, let's begin. Using magic now will be a bad idea, so I’ll use my divine power to make some changes here. I can't bless a living human that's still “pure," but I still have a trick under my sleeve, something that I have that almost no other god has. Spirit Energy. Almost every god is made of mana and divine power, which can create things from nothing.

This effect is reflected on magic, where you can create earth, fire, water, and wind. In essence, magic is almost the same thing as the power from a god. Although the difference is that we gods generate magic. Divine power is what allows us to travel between worlds, gain power through the faith of other people, bless people, and other things.

Spiritual energy... has a similar effect, but different foundations. Spiritual energy is everywhere, hidden from the eyes of the living. In this world, the spiritual energy travels through the land, in what we call Ley Lines, similar to those in the native world of this kid. The trees, the stones, the sea, the air, etc. Everything is made of spiritual energy.

Spiritual energy is more about controlling everything around you. Also, if you have a great amount of Spiritual Energy, you can see things that the eyes of normal people can't see, sense everything around you in great detail, manipulate nature, have a natural affinity with animals, etc.

Well, you can also use Spiritual Energy to make your body stronger, like mana. Anyway, I use a huge amount of energy in what was the body of this boy. I make a "shell" around the bloody mess and keep injecting spiritual energy into it. One of the greatest uses for spiritual energy is healing. When your body heals naturally, you eventually "tire" out your cells, and they eventually sloppily regenerate, leaving behind scars.

That's why it's good that I’m using spiritual energy to heal him.

(Three days later)

I got bored as I healed him, so I decided to take a peek at his memories. Dammit, this kid... no matter what I won't be able to heal his eyes. The "accident" that he suffered...

No, his blindness won't be a problem for him; seeing his life, I know that he'll be able to adapt to this world.

I finally end the reconstruction of his body. Now, let's see the results. I punch the shell, making it break. A large amount of blood comes out from it. I wait for the blood to flow out and put my hand inside the shell, grabbing him and taking him out. His appearance didn't change too much. He's a bit more handsome: his skin is a bit paler and smoother.

Also, his hair grew a bit, now almost reaching the middle of his back. There's a faint, dark purple hue to his hair now. Well, the prettier, the merrier.

*rumble*

Dammit, my time in the mortal realm is almost over. Just a bit more, just until he wakes up…
