Captain's log -The indomitable - 1 of Sept
Finally the Gods favored us with good weather and contrary to the scant fishing we had achieved in recent days, which had caused the crew's spirits to drop, the nets were at long last filling up, fueling our expectations, as all our gazes were fixed on them.
This expedition, despite its success or failure, could not take any longer, our supplies were low, barely enough for a fast journey back, the artifact to keep the freshness of our cargo needs and urgent and frankly quite expensive recharge, so that was the last time our nets were programmed to be cast. Luckily our stores were now getting full, it felt like magic as the normally elusive fishes were constantly jumping to get inside the nets.
In the afternoon we began the return home to sell our overflowing cargo before the artifact collapsed and the weather ended up spoiling it and leaving us without even enough to recover the expenses of this outing. For reasons that are beyond my comprehension, each time we had to get further away from the coasts to find a school of fish and get the economic remuneration that makes our effort worthwhile.
We are barely 10 seamen in a small boat, 10 lives depending on one excursion and many others depending on the first ones. I feared that more than half of my "faithfull" crew would not return with me the next time if the nets had not catched anything on this trip.
Our happy grins were whipped out barely an hour before sunset as our lookout started screaming that there was a human body floating in the water. For a moment I thought my eyes were playing a bad joke on me, floating on a piece of wood, the silhouette of a person was drawn, before realizing, I was jumping into the water, as if my body was possessed by a force greater than me, my will yielded and my instinct for self-preservation became null, the only thing that crossed my mind at that moment was to quickly rescue that poor unfortunate soul, hoping that the sea had not proclaimed that life to itself.
Just a few minutes after my lookout saw that figure in the water, I had managed to get it on deck with the help of my crew, my clothes were soaked and my breathing began to shake when I realized that what I had rescued was a woman, the environment on the ship started to get weird as my men realized that the beautiful girl was completely naked. In hindsight the captain of a ship jumping into the water to rescue a stranger without hesitation whatsoever was as bad an idea as it could be.
"She's still breathing" I thought happily excitedly, as I began to inspect her and imagine what could have happened to her to end up in such a state in the middle of nowhere. From the features of her face one could not think that she was more than 14-15 years old, as there was still some baby fat on the otherwise fine and delicate lines. Her hands did not show the callous or the wear and tear of those who have known the happiness of a working day and job well done, framing her sweet face, she had long, abundant hazelnut-colored hair and skin that, despite her shipwrecked state: pockmarked by the sun and sea salt, was radiant and full of health, with a sun-kissed shade of what might have been fair skin. However, when observing her body, the perception of the girl changed, a perfect silhouette of a woman overshadowed her sweet angelic face, abundant, firm and round breasts, a narrow waist with wide hips, well-shaped thighs and long legs, her body was that of a person in the full enjoyment of adulthood and exuded and overwhelming apell.
"This one would be good for having children" was the tamest of the things my crew said while leering and ogling her sumptuous body but mindfully keeping their distance as all of them probably came to the same conclusion as me: She seemed to be some kind of noble as only they could breed this type of sheltered gal.

As soon as I regained consciousness of myself, instead of being mesmerized by the beauty in front of me, I took a blanket and covered the girl taking her to rest in my cabin, hoping that when she wakes the merciless sun, the immensity of the ocean and the movement of the waves would not had made her lose her sanity and she could tell us, perhaps a little to entertain and a little to satisfy my curiosity, what in the mistress's name happened to her to end up in that state. As her lips didn't seem as chapped as most of my crue on a bad day I didn't felt the need to force feed her water, instead leaving a fresh jar, or at least as fresh as it can be on this ship, on the table next to the bed.
As soon as I left that sleeping beauty in my quarters I went out on deck, the refreshing sea breeze had not begun to caress my face when my crew surrounded me vociferating questions and wishes for the luck of the girl.
- Did you see her body?! It's a sea witch! Oh, we have to return it to the waters before it steals our souls! - Bernardo, the second oldest of the crew, a man afraid of curses and a fervent believer of any rumor he heard - began to shout - Are you crazy? It's a poor shipwreck lost at sea! Have we rescued her from a horrible and slow death only to return her to the sea?- Javier answered while his jovial eyes and the tone of his voice made it clear that he did not want the well-being of the girl just out of altruism but for more mundane matters. - We should keep her on board, she can always be a good entertainment for the return trip and since selling fish isn't a that well paid, we can get some extra Zeny from her in a brothel, they would pay well for someone like her- Alfonso's calm and meticulous voice echoed in the minds of others and there was silence, that option seemed to be to the liking of the vast majority, what man in his right mind would pass up the opportunity to have that beautiful being in his clutches?
From the other end of the ship, the voice of Armando, the oldest crew member and with the one with most experience at sea, was heard, his presence radiated respect and admiration not only among the sailors but in every person who laid eyes on him or heard him speak, sometimes I envy him for it - The mistress is a capricious lover and having a woman on board can provoke her jealousy, however there is no better way to make a lover angry than to return one of the gifts that she gives us with love, since the indomitable and the ransom credit for this expedition are from our dear captain I believe this gift is only for him. If someone else lays a hand on the girl, they will receive the wrath of the sea and it will spread to the rest of us. What need do we have to attract more curses on this poor boat and our souls that work in it? In any case, the captain already has a witch on board, what does it matter to bring one more? -
-A witch on board- I saw as the thoughts and gazes of all those present focused on the precious hairy specimen that walked along the bow of the ship, curiously we had named him "sorcerer" because of his black fur and his beautiful and enormous green eyes, the mere sight of this animal evoked the typical image of what people call a familiar to witches and demons. The reason that allowed sorcerer to continue keeping his 9 lives intact was not only the affection he had earned from the entire crew for his playful and loving nature, but also his great ability to catch mice, rats, scorpions and any other vermin that came along and dared to set foot inside the indomitable.
Faced with Armando's argument, thankfully everyone was satisfied, some less than others, but the fate of the girl would be decided by me and what I wanted from the moment my eyes fell on that beautiful face and that perfect body devoid of the security and status of the vestments was to have her by my side, not as my servant, my slave or my lover, but in a way were no one else could snatch her from my arms or from my bed without condemning her soul to eternal fire, she should be my wife. I had gained her in legitimate salvage.
After the novelty wore off we all returned to our assigned tasks, but the mistress, the sea herself had seen our good deed and she never leaves a good deed unrewarded, it does not like to owe anything to anyone, so our blessings began to multiply after saving the fair maiden, as if the work of gods and demons one of our nets fell to the waters and entangled something so heavy that almost snapped while pulling it out.
A black chest with magic stones inside. We are rich.
