"Little Xinli, all the best," Xiang encouraged me with a thumbs-up.
"Why not, my lady," I replied warmly.
"Alright, alright, you two, stop it," Ling Fai interjected.
"Place your hand on it," Examiner Bingwen instructed, pointing towards the orb.
Without hesitation, I placed my hand on the orb, even though I already knew the outcome. I couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation.
The orb began to emit such a bright glow that even Cao Long couldn't match it, which left me baffled. I had to close my eyes for a few seconds like the others.
When the light finally faded away, everyone watching had their mouths agape and jaws dropped in shock, wondering what number would appear. To everyone's surprise, the number displayed was an 8, leaving everyone quite intrigued.
"Didn't Examiner Bingwen say that the brighter the light, the greater the potential? Then why did he have a lower qualification than Cao Long, who managed to produce a brighter light?" confusion filled the air, even among Tang Bingwen and Ling Fai.
Except for Xiang. "I knew you were interesting," Xiang muttered.
(Xinli's spiritual glow was brighter than Cao Long's because Xinli has a purer spiritual root than Cao Long, even though Xinli's spiritual level is lower. Such occurrences are rare, so only a few people know about this situation.)
"Tsk," Ling Fai's blood boiled upon seeing Xiang's obsessed gaze filled with interest and warmth...
"Tsk, tsk, can you believe this guy has a level 8 spiritual root?" Mo Gu exclaimed in disbelief, feeling a tinge of jealousy creeping in.
"Don't get upset over small issues. We have our connections to rely on, and we're still one step ahead of him. You must understand that advancing in higher cultivation requires resources," Mo Shi reassured Mo Gu.
"Hmm, whatever," Mo Gu muttered under his breath, clearly frustrated.
'This d*ckheaded ass,' Mo Shi thought, knowing he couldn't control Mo Gu with simple words.
"If you want to vent your anger, then wait for the right moment. Instructor Xiang seems to have taken an interest in him, so we can't afford to upset Instructor Xiang, or we'll be in trouble," Mo Shi warned.
"Hmm, okay," Mo Gu replied reluctantly.
'Do whatever you want, but don't drag me with you,' Mo Shi thought, feeling a sense of unease about his hotheaded brother.
…..
"Xinli, is that your name? Good seedling…. Please go and stand over there. You have passed," Tang Bingwen stated.
"Understood, sir," I responded to Examiner Bingwen.
'What an interesting lad,' Tang Bingwen thought.
Following Tang Bingwen's instructions, I proceeded toward the gathering of individuals who had qualified to join the Profound-Enmity Sect. There were at least 45 individuals present, each displaying various emotions on their faces.
As I approached the group, Yang Gang started to greet me, "Hey, brother Xi—"

But before he could finish, I caught sight of Mo Gu's face. Our eyes met, and without hesitation, he began hurling insults at me.
"What are you staring at? Do you want to die, you Bitch…. Just because you manage to have 8-level spiritual root… do not need to be proud of….. commoner will always be commoner," Mo Gu exclaimed.
I responded calmly, "Ohhh... Is that all you can do? Just yell like a little girl? That was quite embarrassing, to be honest. Or your parents never taught you how to talk to others? Sheesh, quite embarrassing for you and your family, too…. Go and cry on your mommy's lap"
My nonchalant reply only fueled Mo Gu's anger, and he started charging toward me like a psycho.
This unexpected turn of events left everyone bewildered.
"What the f***, why are they fighting for?" everyone exclaimed.
"I'm too late, damn it," Mo Shi muttered.
Mo Gu lunged at me with fury like an enraged bull.
"Finally….come at me", I thought to myself, "The moment I've been waiting for." I need to unleash my anger on this bastard for what he had done to me, even though it may have seemed insignificant.
A debt is a debt, and it must be repaid with interest in full. And I don't want to live with regret. My motto is: If I get punched, then I will return a hammer.
I stood there calmly, activating my forbidden pupil of the eye to analyze Mo Gu's every move. Despite being in the same realm, I could clearly see his actions. As Mo Gu launched his attack with one-step movement art, I swiftly countered, unfazed by the fact that this was my first fight.
He threw a heavy punch at my face, but I skillfully evaded it by bending slightly to the right. In one fluid motion, I retaliated with a powerful uppercut, putting all my strength behind it.
"Bitch… how is that? Did you feel it?"
My punch connected with Mo Gu's jaw, causing his movement to halt. Then, another right punch landed on his cheek, causing him to drop to the ground, like getting knocked out.
The crowd gasped in shock as Mo Gu hit the ground. A stunned silence followed,

"Wow!"
"Did he defeat Mo Gu that easily? Unbelievable!" everyone exclaimed.
Observing interestingly, Cao Long thought, 'Not just that, but he bent his body in a unique way and threw his punches with precision, countering Mo Gu's one-step movement art effortlessly. Interesting.'
Yang Gang, clearly impressed, muttered, 'Despite looking skinny, Brother Xinli has quite the power. Wonderful.'
Clutching his injured face, blood dripping from his mouth. A chorus of agonized screams erupted from Mo Gu's mouth, filled with pain and fury. "I will kill you, you motherfucker!" he shouted in a fit of rage.
Getting up, Mo Gu unsheathed his saber from his back and charged at me again.
However, his saber was abruptly caught by Tang Bingwen, who had appeared on the scene with other qualifiers. "What the hell are you two doing?" he demanded to know.
I calmly replied, "Sir, I was merely defending myself." Hoping someone would speak up in my defense, I added, "You can ask the witnesses here." However, no one spoke up.
'LOL,' I silently cursed myself. 'I forgot that this world is messed up.'
"Hmm, whatever. Let's see how this situation unfolds," I thought, resigned to whatever consequences may come.
"He…" Yang Gang yearned to aid me, yet the looming presence of the Mo Clan cast a dark cloud over his intentions. The weight of his family's safety silenced his voice.
Ling Fai stepped forward, aiming to make things difficult for me. "Do you understand the consequences of fighting here? You might get disqualified," he warned straightforwardly.
Before he could continue, Xiang interrupted, "What's all this chitter-chatter about? Just give him a low-tier healing pill, and he'll be fine in no time. Let's not waste time on such trivial matters."
"…"
"If that's settled, then let's pack our bags and head back to our sect," Xiang declared. It was clear she was trying to protect me. "Well, she's not that bad after all," I thought amusingly.
"Shit" Mo Gu gritted his teeth and clenched his fist, blood dripping from his grip. Mo Shi, clearly annoyed, thought, 'I just said to wait for the right moment, didn't I? You stupid fool.'
Mo Shi whispered in Mo Gu's ear, "If you want to get revenge, then think carefully. Don't use your muscles always; first check his background, where and who he is living with."
"You have a point, Brother Shi," Mo Gu smirked evilly as he understood what Mo Shi was trying to say.
"Okay, first, let's go back quickly and prepare ourselves. We have two hours left; we can use that time to investigate." With that, they left.
I was fully aware of their schemes and intentions, but why should I care? I am too weak right now to face the entire Mo Clan. Let them do as they please; I have nothing to lose anyway.
Once I attain strength, I shall return and reveal to them the depths of true destruction.
Cao Long observed the show with keen interest as he departed. All the others had left, leaving only me and the other instructor behind.
