Chapter 1: Prologue

Jin Reshiro wakes up in the morning, getting ready for school. He does his usual walk, stopping by at the shop, getting some grub then go to the school. His school starts and as usual, just does his assignments. Typical school life.

The bell rings and by now, it was lunchtime. Jin gets his lunch that he prepared himself and eats, but for some reason, Jin gets a headache and his vision was blurry, but it's showing him, a silhouette of a young girl. Then he gets snapped back to reality.

"That was weird." He thought.

The bell rings and now lunchtime is over and Jin is going back to his class. The day passes by and School was now over. On the way home, Jin walks. However, during walking. A strange, bright light appeared in Jin's eyes. As he blinked, he saw himself in an unknown world.

"Huh? Where am I?' He said.

He walks around this unknown city in an unknown world, exploring the areas.

"No way! Did I get," Jin realized.

"I got transported to another world!" Jin said.

He seemed happy with the fact that he got transported to another world,

"Finally! No more boring life" Jin said to himself.

He starts to question himself though if he's in some sort of lucid dream so he pinched himself to see, he didn't get snapped back to reality.

"So I really did get transported to another world." Jin thought to himself.

"Although I feel like I'm useless without other skills" Jin continued.

So Jin tries to buy gear in the shopping area, although due to the fact, this unknown world uses a different type of currency so Jin doesn't think the Japanese currency would work in this world.

"What's up with this currency?" The blacksmith asked Jin.

"Ah, that's the Japanese yen," Jin answered.

"Never saw a currency like this." The blacksmith said

"Can you please do me a favor and just take it please?" Jin begged.

"Fine, kid. But don't tell anyone that I did this." The blacksmith said.

"I'll never tell a thing," Jin replied.

So Jin begged the Blacksmith to make him a weapon that he can use just in case, danger comes. Jin requested a simple metal sword from the Blacksmith, a simple yet elegant, refined sword. The blacksmith has finished making his metal sword. He took it but it was heavy, like REALLY heavy.

"Oh, Jesus. This sword is very fucking heavy." Jin thought to himself.

"I might need to get used to this" Jin thought again

There was a training field nearby so Jin went there and practiced swinging his new metal sword.

"Take this!" Jin yells while he swings his sword.

"Well, I think doing those weights back in my world, helped a little bit," Jin said to himself.

He trains with his sword to get used to the weight that the sword has. Although right now, it's night time and he doesn't have any place to stay.

"Oh, god. I don't have anywhere to stay." Jin said to himself.

"Maybe they also have those motel things in this world?" Jin thought

So Jin tried to find a "motel" around but failed, so he just decided to sleep on the streets.

"So, no shelter, no money because I've used it all on a weapon, no food" Jin said to himself.

"Well, I might need to accept a quest to get money." Jin thought.

Jin thought he was transported into a game world where it has quests and stuff but he was wrong, this world functions like the real world, so that means no quest, which also means he has to get a job.

The next day, Jin wakes up, feeling uncomfortable because he just slept on the streets.

"Ok! Let's find a quest so I can get money" Jin thought to himself.

Little did he know, quests don't exist in this world, you have to get an actual job to get money. Jin explores the city again, searching for a quest board but found none.

Jin sighed.

"So I don't think there are quests in here." Jin thought to himself.

But Jin still didn't give up, he still tried to find one. Although, when he was searching around.

"Stay out of my way and you'll be spared," A girl said.

Jin notices that and heard it from an alley, so he sneaked in there unnoticed. There were 3 strangers and a girl. It looked like they were a gang.

"Oh, and what are you gonna do, missy?" One of the strangers said and grabbed her arm.

"Let go," the girl said.

"This is my chance!" Jin thought to himself.

"HEY!" Jin yelled at the strangers.

"Huh? Who are you?" One of the strangers asked.

"Remember this name for the rest of your life, Jin Reshiro," Jin replied.

After Jin said that, he rushed the strangers and unsheathed his sword.

"HAAAA!!!!!!!!" He yelled while he swung his sword. The gang of strangers had gear too so they took those out. Jin tried to hit one of them but the stranger blocked his attack, then Jin transitioned his attack to the other stranger, but no luck either, it got blocked.

"Hey! I can take them on, why try to help me?" The girl said.

"Maybe try to help then, would be a lot easier than just standing there," Jin replied.

"Good point, actually." The girl said.

Jin facepalmed himself but kept trying to attack the gang. The girl prepared a spell

The girl focused and aimed at the strangers.

"Keep them steady!" The girl said.

"Sure, I'll do that," Jin replied.

Jin held up one of the strangers by clashing his sword to the stranger's weapon.

A white magic circle appeared on the girl's palm.

"Raging Wind! HAA!" The girl yelled and a burst of strong pressure-wind shoots from her palm, hitting the immobilized person.

The stranger got hit and fell down to the ground.

"She's a magic-user?" The stranger said, looking surprised.

"RUN!" The other stranger yelled.

The gang of strangers ran with their unconscious friend.

"Nice job there," Jin said.

"You too, you immobilized the person and gave me an opening," The girl said.

"So, why are you in this area?' Jin asked

"I was searching for an item in this city but I ran into those people" The girl replied.

"What item exactly?" Jin asked again.

"Are you trying to get info from me?" The girl asked.

"Why do you suspect that?" Jin answered her question with another question.

"Yeah, you are." The girl said.

"No, I'm not," Jin said.

"Ok, I'm gonna keep it short and simple here, Jin Reshiro-san"

"Oh, you know my name?" Jin said.

"Of course, you literally said your name when you confronted those guys." The girl said

"Idiot." She continued.

"Hey! I heard that." Jin said.

"Anyways, I'm gonna be serious now." The girl said.

"Whom are you working for?" The girl asked.

"I don't work for anyone" Jin replied.

"Lies, empty your pockets," The girl said.

"Can we do a deal?" Jin asked.

"Tell me the deal first." The girl said.

"I'll empty everything that I have for the exchange of.."  Jin said

"Of what?" The girl said

"Your name," Jin said.

"Pfft, I was worried for nothing," The girl said.

"So, your answer?" Jin asked.

"Sure, I'll accept it." The girl answered.

"I'll go first." The girl said.

"My name is Mizuki. Shinohara Mizuki. A pleasure to meet you" Mizuki said.

"Beautiful name, Mizuki as in the beautiful moon," Jin said.

Mizuki blushed lightly.

"Stop trying to change the subject, Jin."

"Ah I see, already on a first name basis, huh?" Jin said.

"Huh?"

Mizuki was confused about what Jin said.

"Ah, I forgot, this world has different rules," Jin mumbled quietly to himself.

"Nevermind, sorry, Mizuki-chan"

"Chan? What does that mean?" Mizuki asked.

"Don't worry about it, it's nothing" Jin replied.

"Now your turn, Jin," Mizuki said.

"Empty your pockets."

"Sure," Jin said.

Jin emptied his pockets and there was nothing.

"See, I told you. I don't work for anyone." Jin said.

"Lies," Mizuki said.

"Then what do you want me to do? Take off my clothes and dump it down to see if I'm lying or not?" Jin said.

"Don't do that, Don't ever take off your clothes" Mizuki replied quickly.

Jin sighed. A light flickers in Mizuki's pocket.

"Hm? What's that?" Jin asked.

Mizuki noticed and she checked. It was a device that alerts people if they're in a danger zone.

"Crap," Mizuki said.

*crack* Monsters appeared from the ground.

"Get ready!" Mizuki yelled while she readies up her spells.

Jin unsheathes his sword, doing a stance, ready to fight.

"Careful! These are Terra Golems," Mizuki said.

Jin nods as an affirmative and rushes in at the golem, he swings his sword. All he heard, was a tinking noise. The golem attacks him but he backflips away from the golem.

"Roaring Wind!" Mizuki yells and she shoots 3 bursts of wind slashes, hitting the golems, slicing the golems in half.

"How's on your side, Jin?" Mizuki said.

"As you can see, can't even make a dent," Jin says while huffing because he keeps dodging the golem's attack and swinging his heavy metal sword.

"Use a magic skill, physical attacks don't work on terra golems," Mizuki said while shooting magic bolts at the golems.

"I don't have one," Jin said.

"You don't have one?!" Mizuki said while looking surprised.

"I can try though," Jin said while he moves around to dodge the attacks.

Jin tries to perform a magic spell, but it wouldn't work and Mizuki is running out of mana.

"I'm getting tired here," Jin said.

"Same here, I'm losing mana."

"There's just too many of them."

"Plus, you're useless in this battle"

"Ouch, okay that hurts me in the feels"

It was a hopeless battle for Jin, he can't even dent the golem, but he still kept trying.

Jin dodged and dodged, every single one of the golem's attacks and tried to attack but no effect until,

*crackling noise*

An aura formed in Jin, it was a purple aura and there were sparks of lightning appearing in that aura. Mizuki turned around and saw Jin.

"Woah, that's the element, lightning," Mizuki said.

Jin didn't talk, he kept walking forward to the golem, when the golem was about to hit him, he teleports behind the golem and kicks it's back. The golem was shocked and turned into only small rocks. Then, he walks forward to the other golems Mizuki was fighting and held his fist down, forcing a giant lightning strike on the group of golems. After that, the aura disappeared and Jin fell down to the ground, exhausted. The only thing he heard was,

"Jin!"
