Rainbow Empire

At the royal palace, a heavy sense of dread can be feel.

It has been 3 months since their most important mine has gone silence

In the first month the kingdom sent nonstop scouts, ambassadors, royal messengers to figure out what happened. No one returned.

in the second month ago they finally assemble a subjugation force and sent it to deal with the problem.

But when his subjugation force saw them… a monstrosity flying with 4 arms and a tail with a bastard-sword on its back fighting with one of their priest yell… Agnis… they demoralized on the spot.

The commander of that expedition issued a retreat order.

That monstrosity fought to a stalemate against Agnis… in other words it was a godlike existence as well until it decided to fly deep into the sky… they thought that it retreated… after all Agnis was one of the strongest deities of the ancient era…

But in less than a wink a big black sphere appeared out of nowhere and absorb him, Agnis didn’t have a chance to defend himself… not even curse at it. That black sphere last for 6 seconds and it fade away, the side effects of that battle was a big crater on the land… after that the third month has passed… the empire assemble as quickly as possible its biggest army to confront that abomination. Waiting for its attack to the Rainbow Empire.

But nothing happened.

“This war council has been made because of the reason you have been informed.”

The Rainbow Empire is divided in various states, each of the most important states of the empire are manage by people completely loyal to the emperor.

Each of these persons has the might of a small kingdom there are 20 of them and 19 are in the war council.

“Your highness… what you are saying, is it true? How could exist people that pray for Agnis? And how could there be a god stronger than him?”

Those 19 people aren’t visible, they are just shadows; the reason is because they are not present, as a precaution they all have the same voice and form, caution against what, they are not sure either. But it was an order or their Emperor so they just follow it.

Agnis in the old lore was the strongest god ever… but as less people lost faith in the ancient gods, they slowly have been forgotten.

“Cardinal Hope was a member of that expedition… he was the one that notice it was Agnis… but it was the first time he ever saw an abomination as the other one…” the Emperor said.

“They inform me it was a golem made of metal, is that right?” One of them said.

This man was rather rude with the Emperor but right now this is a major issue, amiability can be left for another day the Emperor thought.

“Yes it has a tail… and some scouts saw a female cat-tribe in the area.” One of them said it.

“Impossible cat-tribe people can’t use magic… almost all of the demi-human race can’t do it…”

“Indeed that the female cat-tribe is the one that summon that golem is just a conjecture.” The king said.

Too many question so little information…

“Did your highness sent spies?”

“I tried, but there are odd spheres all around the mine, the first group of scout saw a big group of gnomes and dwarves go into the mine without issue, one of the spies tried to get closer… I have yet to receive an answer from him.” The king said.

That means death.

“Spheres?”

“Yes spheres as big as a big ball also the second group of spies saw a massive migration of cat-people to the mines… so far we haven’t saw them going out the mine…”

“This mine was under the supervision of the Aikens family right?” They are the last member of this 20 powerful nobles.

“Yes two months ago I sent a punitive force to all their houses either branches or main house… It was too late, every one of them are dead…”

That is unpleasant, the might of the Empire has been jeopardized, it felt like a message to some of them, to the others it means they are prepared to fight to the death.

“? How so?”

“I think they were related with the summoning of Agnis the oracle informed us that someone was trying to summon Agnis… never would I have thought it would be inside my empire…”

“No one would have thought someone thought about to summon Agnis… even less it was possible… there is nothing wrong with it your highness.”

For once all the people inside the council nod in agreement with what the old lady said.

Indeed no one would have thought that there was such a madman inside their council…

“So we don’t know for what and we are not sure who summoned Agnis… but it was destroyed by something else right?”

“Indeed… we are preparing countermeasures against that thing. It seems this topic is related as well so I have to inform it. We can’t find those ‘seven dealers’…”

Seven dealers is the name of an association so far the empire found their work are slavery and terrorism but their true purpose, faces they all remain unclear… the most disgusting kind for an association… they kidnap people of the finest pedigree and sold them… this brings heavy damage… this time the damage is unprecedented.

“Don’t worry your highness we are searching everywhere as well… every one of us has suffer under them…”

One of those 19 people stood up and the shadow under him was removed… he has red eyes, and half of his hair is white while the other remains blond, he has lost his wife against them… since then he fought a campaign against them sadly no achievement could be seem since then.

“Yes… I don’t know but I have the feeling ‘seven dealers’ and Agnis are related one way or another…so we have to be prepared.

The Goodwin family will be the commanders for this expedition against the abomination ok? If we are lucky we may found if my hunch is on the spot or not…”

The man with red eyes stood firmly and press his right hand to his chest.

“Yes your highness. Give me your orders.”

“You will receive 800 000 strong men. You have to reclaim our mine… if you see the abomination… stay low and inform me.”

“Yes!! Don’t worry your highness… I know that princess Kelly is alright. We will find her I promise.”

The frozen land

After traveling for 3 months she finally arrived to her home… it was a place completely frozen by ice and silence… nevertheless it is the home she missed the most…

“No this is not the time to feel melancholy.”

So much happened happiness to come back, fear of what could have happened to her, hatred against those humans and more

“Is there something wrong Miss Miyuki?”

They were Miyuki and her escort. They finally arrived to her lands, but it will take 1 more week before arriving the place she wanted to go.

“Yes. We are really close continue forward.”

“Yes I hope we arrive soon… rations are almost over.”

Her escort is a female gnome… the freeze may kill her at night…

Thankfully they arrived without problem… when her sister saw her she run and embrace her with all her strength.

“MIYUKI!!!! THANK TO THE GODDES YOU ARE SAFE!!! I THOUGHT… I THOUGHT I THOUGHT…”

She couldn’t finish her sentence.

“Yes sister I am alright.”

Miyuki hugged her with all her strength as well.

She was her twin sister, her name is Yuki… everything was the same between each other, voice hair, skin… the only difference is the garment… that is because the slavers force her and the other VIP women use those clothes… it was a form of abuse and mockery but above all a custom that only the costumer could see her completely, Yuki has a short skirt somewhat transparent blue that reveal her long alluring thighs and a shirt that hide completely the top of her body.

They talk for some time, her sister had tons of questions… like how she had been captured… and more…

Finally they arrived at the subject Miyuki wanted to talk about.

“Sister… how did you escape?”

“A valorous hero rescue me, dear sister.”

When she said that, there was a special gaze that she never did before… her sister knew immediately what it was about.

But after that her gaze was a mix between fear and doubt…

“Sister those that kidnap me and those that sold me were completely different… those that kidnap me said they were working for a dealer… but the slave dealer that dealt with my sell was a normal slave dealer… the other women I told you were the same… all kidnapped by the a dealer… they all send us to that mine… in that mine… Agnis was summoned…”

“WHAT?!!! AGNIS??!!”

Although the issue with ‘dealer’ sound serious it is vague and they know nothing about him or her… it could be a mercenary group that deals with kidnapping… but Agnis is another different matter… he is an ancient god… the god of flame… been able to summon him, it is like a tales to scare children at night.

“But my valorous hero defeat him. I am not sure how, he said something like a black hole? I didn’t understand what it means…”

A power to defeat Agnis… that is something more terrifying…

“Did he release you?”

“Exactly not… he ask help from the dwarf and gnomes, they remove the collars and after that we were freed… he also said about making a colony around the mine… sister I think we should move with him… we are few in number and we slowly are dying here… it is about time that either the humans slave us, demons kill us or we just vanish…”

They are less than two thousand… the place where they lived doesn’t have vegetables and it is hard to raise animals… hunting is becoming harder as well, more now with the humans lurking so close of their villages.

Miyuki is lucky because Yuki trust her but making the others believe her will be a big problem… even if her twin sister is the actual leader of the ice elves.

“Can we trust him, sister?”

Yuki could see in the eyes of her sister, she is entranced by him… what could have happen to make her fall in that way was not that hard to understand perhaps with time she will come back with her sense.

“Yes sister, if our people doesn’t want to come with us… at least I hope you can come with me. I will try my best to at least make a friendly relationship between our race and his colony… he said he wanted to make a colony out of demi-humans.”

“? Why would he do that? Isn’t he human?”

“When we were waiting for the dwarves he told us he isn’t from this world… his… golem is so powerful that makes me believe him.”

He told her it was a mechanical unit for warfare, she doesn’t understand completely what mechanical unit means but understood instantly warfare, it means it is not only one dozens, perhaps hundreds of the same goliah will be flying in the skies in the future but she felt that if she mentioned it like that Yuki will not agree with it…

“…That makes things more complicated sister… although I rule over our people… it is not like they obey every single word either…”

An otherworld human… it doesn’t mean good news for her people… even if he stay true with his words… after he dies... what will happen? Most of the time humanity forget its words… either because of age, greed or lust…

“I will try my best sister… but I will return in 2 months at most.”

“…Ok sister I doubt we will move to his colony but making friendly terms is acceptable… now tell me what did he do to you??? You are really captivate~d.”

Yue is a black elf… but compared with the ice elves the black elves are more… ‘Independent’. Although it seems with the title having someone to see the future is a common occurrence with the black elves the true is not like that, every 10 generations only 1 at most 2 are able to see the future, still the rate is way higher than in any other race. This is the biggest secret of the black elves, the reason why they are so independent from each other and distant to other races.

“Yue… did you met a big golem with 4 arms and a tail?”

Well she can see the past that is for certain she thought.

“Yes its name is Goliah.”

She knew it isn’t alive, Leo explained it to them.

“And the owner he was in an armor colored with white and gold?”

“…Yes. How do you know?”

She ignored mother.

“Child… did that man said something? Anything is ok.”

Grandma walked close to her and grab her hands, not even once she broke eye contact with yue.

“…Yes he mentioned that he is making a colony and we are allowed to move in. with that I will go back.”

That is the reason she came back, she knew she could mess around for a couple of months close to the mine and came back, but for some unknown reasons she couldn’t do that.

Now that she did what Leo asked her for she choose to go back.

Grandma did things easier making the damn right questions, sadly grandma’s guard didn’t make things easier for her.

Yes this bitch is planning to use me as a token… well if he agree to be with me… not gonna happen either way… that miyuki bitch is all he saw of the four of us… well he kept that crazy cat at his sight as well… hmm perhaps I do have a chance… she thought

“Ok grandma. It will be my pleasure to bring you back with me, but we have to go now… it is a long travel and it is about to be winter here…”

Unlike the ice elf the other elves are weak against winter… much more than any other race.

“If you say so my dear, I have prepared everything here. We only need 2 days to accommodate everyone and leave.”

“He is right my friend… not even us expected so many issues could have happened… Agnis right? Summoning should be impossible… Alfarin would have ceased to exist long ago if we, mortals, could summon deities to our liking…”

He is the gnome king, he is on top of a big silver hammer.

He is the current king of the gnomes Piero Adinolfi III, father of Amelie Adinolfi. Like his daughter he has pink hair, and even though he has 40 years old, if a woman of the olden world could see him, they would think of otome mangas. Alfarin is the name of the new world, something that leo would never know. Unlike joseph,

“My daughter can you tell me what you felt when you saw goliah?” the gnome king asked.

“…I want it…” Amelie said it.

“Well it is my fault to ask her that question.”

Each time she remember goliah… she remember him kneeling down in front of her… with its might in that empty and white space.

“Do you think that is feasible my lovely daughter?”

Her gaze to the nothingness, descend to earth once again.

“No father it will not be possible… while I was investigating I saw at least 30 spheres… not visible to normal eyes though… not even with conventional magic.”

She has a special ability to see everything like aura, killing intent and more in this case it was able to see the invisibility hardware of those drones.

“Jackeline Watson should know more about them right?”

That is the biggest secret of the gnome kingdom, the information is shared with the dwarves as well. He wasn’t the last line of defense he was pretty much a self-destruction card to destroy everyone else… it is like this because they don’t like their artifacts, guns and other equipment be stolen by the humans.

“yes my daughter but I don’t know if it could work now that he is dead.”

“it is not about that, I am interested to see the summoning circle, they shared with me the summoning circle they have it there, but they call it transmutation circle…”

That is an odd term indeed… that is generally use in alchemy not on summoning.

“yes, but I believe they are mistaken. To begin with they don’t seem to be proficient with mana… no on leo I didn’t feel mana at all, and on goliah I felt energy inside him but it was not magic…”

Amelie said that while in deep thought… she asked a lot of questions, but only a few were answered… it seems she was not trusted enough that time.

“I think both summoning circles may be the same.”

Both kings couldn’t take that hypothesis…

“I am not sure… but I need to keep investigating… as I said I think it is, but I need more information to have a solid conclusion.”

“you are right the tiny… if he has so much military might he will be a  threat… should we sent our forces to his location?”

“no father lets wait for now. He said he is building a colony out of demi-humans, we can profit from this… some of us can go to his future colony and live there… if lucky those people maybe able to learn how goliah was created… also 1 month has passed already, Rainbow Empire should start something big by now…”

She is too crafty. Piero is really happy to have a daughter like her, and joseph is happy he is not their enemy.

“if that is the case I wish to be appointed as one… I really want to see him again…”

Her gaze turn ardent once again… neither of those two kings were sure if she was talking about goliah or leo.

“Ok princess Amelie Adinolfi, we nominate you as ambassador representing both of our kingdoms, think always first of our kingdoms benefit, remember it.”

She knelt on the spot, she knew this is her only chance to go back and stay for an indefinite time, she felt lucky that the flow of conversation reach this point.

“yes your highness. I will do my upmost to bring profit for all of us.

“we will prepare enough supplies for your travel, also  we will prepare people to help him build his colony, as well as other gifts, in 2 months you will return to that mine.”

“Yes father. I thank you for your consideration.”

“You can go back and rest as well my daughter.”

“Yes father. Your highness joseph it was a pleasure to meet you.”

She bow to them and left afterwards.

“It seems that if she goes, she won’t come back, are you alright with that?”

“hohoho it is time for her to marry… only I fear that she will pick the golem rather than the summoner…”

“…yes I feel the same as well. Hahahaha”

Lazarus Pit  

After the success of Lazarus pit operation, Leo decided to call the mine like that, one month has passed since most of the slaves returned to their home. Things were moving according to schedule. Some menial problems appeared here and there too but it wasn’t something to be worry about Leo thought.

Not all slaves decided to return to their homes either because they don’t know where it is, there is no more home or they were sold by their loved ones.

“Topophobia isn’t it?”

“Anyway Topophobia can you tell me why we need another mine? I just looked at our storage… we have plenty to build 2 more A.I. rooms basic infrastructure and defensive system at least that is the summary from Goliah first evaluation.”

At goliah first evaluation, they could only build one A.I. room but the purity of the materials and its efficiency reduce the need of high amount of resources allowing them to save a lot and allowing them more stuff to build.

[table=black] Indeed. If we only need to build infrastructure for those it will be barely enough but we need to establish a solid defensive network.

Goliah’s sensors and data gathering is limited to around 100 Km, for this main problem we will initiate project: the eye.   [/table]  

“The eye?”

The sixth floor is literally a place out of this world, it is well protected by 15 drones all 24/7 and the unique entrance is guarded by another 5. It left too little drones to gather data, protect the mine and entrances.

In this sixth floor Topophobia has complete control over the hardware and software, except of goliah of course. It is staying in the sixth floor just for the meantime, in a few days, Goliah will move out of the mine and recharge. A source of alternative energy is needed to keep Lazarus pit independent from goliah energy cells.

[table=black] 48 satellites orbiting around the new world, collecting data of its people, resources, flora and fauna in a more efficient way.

It will be used as a real time communication system between the colony and friendly factions.

And finally it will work as a network like the conglomerate.

At the moment we only have material to build 10 of them, 5 are already build read to launch. [/table]  

“…more than an eye it should be eyes…”

[table=black]In time of peace its protocols are just for data gathering but in time of war its protocols change to “the tempest”.

It is defensive system for the world against owls.  [/table]
