The body language of the five captains also consciously or unconsciously reflected his, and they seemed both unguarded and lost in thoughts.
"Perfect," he thought, pressing down with the heel of his foot while raising the front part, creating a deliberate thud to send a signal.
The moment his feet touched the ground, everything changed!
Firrol violently hissed in a high-pitched grating noise that seemed to throw everyone for a loop and lunged at the guard in front of him. The place he chose to attack wasn't just random, but taking advantage of his relatively short height, he pounced at the man's crotch.
Melvin was already expecting all of this, instantly charged at the now wide eyes horrified man, his hands still gripping tightly into that dagger, and he punched him with everything he had, tossing him away to the side.
With the hallway leading out now unobstructed, and the guards still processing everything that had happened, Melvin raced through it. Along the way, he stretched out his right hand, and Firrol jumped on it before he latched into his shoulders, and the two of them fled from the still-opened door.
"Jacoob!!" The bald captain loudly yelled behind them before the four of them immediately began chasing after him. However, by then, Melvin was already displaying what it meant to have 41 Agility.
In fact, that was precisely what was going on in his mind when he got out of the door and ran to the left, deep into the eastern part of the city, 'I need to go somewhere Dark to trigger the 20% Agility effect.'
At the same time, his decision to go left wasn't random either, he had to distance himself from areas where other guards might be because he was sure the moment they saw him fleeing they would start chasing as well. Thus going right would have led him to the main roads, which were always filled with guards.
Amidst his fast run through the streets, he turned around to look, and as expected, the guards were still following closely behind, but with every second he was putting more and more distance between them.
Reaching an intersection, Melvin without thinking about it too much ran to the left, and along the way wherever he passed people's eyes would follow after him, intrigued as to why such a person with a big cat on his shoulders might escape in such a fast and violent manner.
However, when they would see the guards after him, they would understand that it's a criminal running from justice. Needless to say, just from the agility displayed by both parties, they knew better than to get involved in such an affair, and so they just watched for the time their eyes were able to catch the figures before they continued with their lives, still ruminating about the events.
Street after street, Melvin ran, and fortunately he had a guide who seemed very well versed in the sinuous paths of Southern East Nightmond, otherwise he would have run into a closed alley in his frantic escape.
After noticing that he had finally managed to escape the five guard's eyes after all of the lefts and turns that he did, he gradually stopped running as it attracted too much attention and continued speedily marching along the sidewalk with the hood of his white cloak over his face.
His eyes quickly caught sight of a clothing shop, and that was when he remembered that he had left his bag in Karl's house, 'Fuck!' He cursed.
There was almost everything he owned in that bag, materials to create ink, parchments, his remaining money, his dagger that had 1 Wisdom, and some flying daggers.
The only thing he had at that moment were the two long daggers, and his Firecaster ring that he always kept in his pocket. Gritting his teeth, he slowly veered to his left, climbed the small steps above the shop, and stepped foot beyond the green arched door.
There were several windows giving plenty of light inside the shop, further emphasizing the myriad of clothes with a variety of colors lining up the walls inside. There were also several rows at the center where he could see some people walking, and slowly browsing through the array of options.
"Sir," The attendant, a young woman with curly brown hair in a sky blue robe followed after him, "We don't allow pets here, please."
Without looking at her, he just nodded and crouched down. Firrol getting his cue, and of course, understanding the attendant, gracefully walked toward the entrance of the shop and stood there.
Witnessing all of this, the attendant's eyebrows lifted in surprise at such a display. Her face morphing into one of respect realizing that the person in front of her was without a shadow of a doubt, a druid.

Unaware of that, Melvin just feigned browsing through the clothes, but his ears were pushed to the limit, waiting for all of the current customers to leave.
Initially, his purpose was to just rob some clothes, but when he entered inside, a better plan formed in his mind.
After a few minutes, the last customer finally walked out, and the only remaining creatures inside were the young attendant, Melvin, and the pitch-black cat with a tail swaying from one side to the next in the entrance.
Quickening his pace, Melvin approached the attendant, and just as she was about to say something her customary smile froze. Both eyes and mouth widened in sheer terror as she looked at the man's face after he removed his hood, and with a quivering voice she said, "Al.. al-tar.. butcher..."
Just as she was about to release a wretched scream, Melvin lunged at her and closed her mouth shut, "Shuuuush," He said, and he softly spoke, "Just relax. I won't do anything to you."
Without looking back, he waved his hand, and Firrol getting his cue, began closing the big doors of the shop.
Hearing the creaking of the doors, the young woman began to struggle even more, and a barrage of punches was sent to Melvin's face.
"Fuck!" He cursed, feeling both annoyed and hurt by everything, "Just stop it, I am not going to do anything to you."
"AHH HELPP!" The woman screamed after she bit his fingers.
Clicking his tongue in frustration, Melvin gave her a small punch to the stomach, and that proved enough to shut her up as she groaned in pain, struggling to breathe with bulging eyes.
"Shit, sorry, I might have used too much force." Melvin apologized.
Taking advantage of her momentary weakness and pause, he started taking all of his clothes off.
When the young woman saw this, her eyes flashed with terror, and so against the torrent of pain, she willed herself to stand up quietly and walked toward the door behind his back.
However, the cat that she thought was the epitome of cuteness before now stood before her with a dangerous gleam in its feline eyes before a loud vicious yowl echoed from it, scaring her out of her wits.
Turning around, Melvin dashed in the woman's direction, naked. He screamed, "Come here!"
Seeing that, the woman's already terribly shivering knees finally gave out, and she fell tears streaming down her rosy cheeks, "Please, don't do anything. I will soon be married, please don't do anything to me, I beg of you."
When Melvin witnessed such a display, it finally dawned on him that he was known as a rapist, and so he hurriedly apologized, "I am not doing anything, just sit here nice and quiet, and after a while, I will leave..."
However, the woman was so out of it due to sheer fear that she was unable to register what he said, and so she continued her pleading with a quivering voice with even more tears dripping down, "Pleassee, I have a small sister, and we're orphans. She wouldn't be able to survive without me. This isn't even my shop, I am just working here, please don't do anything."
Melvin turned to Firrol and said smiling, "Damn, she's really having a bad day."
Firrol for the very first time, spoke in front of another human with a chuckle, "Of course, who wouldn't if they met you."
Melvin's smile froze in his mind, "Was that necessary?" He protested, but that's all he could say because he agreed with him.
Hearing the cat talk, the young woman was even more terrified and she crawled back into a corner of the shop and hid there, shivering.
Melvin finally heaved a sigh of relief and began looking for new clothes, "What do you think I should wear?" He asked the feline, "I need something that will make me slightly unnoticeable."
In the end, the duo could only find something simple, and most importantly there wasn't really any set of clothing that could change your face but merely hide it. Thus, they went with the trusty cloak.
This time Melvin chose a red one filled with mysterious and beautiful light golden engravings, and then finally a white shirt inside and black pants. He also changed his sandals to more sporty boots as they had annoyed him in the previous escape.
Once that was done, he steadily approached the attendant, who the moment she noticed his approach became deathly quiet. Her cries and incessant sniffing immediately stopped.
She was hiding in the very corner of the shop, behind two tall and circular baskets that had some undergarments.
"Cough, cough," Melvin awkwardly coughed as he stood before the baskets, "What is your name?" He asked, trying to kill some time.
"Laura..." The voice spoke after a while, she sounded so sad and terrified at the same time that those words escaped her lips with tremendous difficulty.
Empathizing with her struggles, Melvin sighed and said, "I am sorry Laura, but..." As he paused there, trying to think of what to say next, how to truly express his apology, and how her safety was absolutely guaranteed, the young attendant took his words to mean something else, something a crazy killer might say before killing their victim.
She swiftly stood up from her hiding, pushing the baskets away as they fell, and subsequently all of the undergarments inside were dropped on the ground. With a maddened look she gazed at Melvin and shouted, "You fucking scum, you want to rape me, here come, show me what your little penis can do."
Melvin's mouth hung open with shock, astonishment, confusion, and everything in between. However, his amazement was soon shattered by a swift leg that hit him right in the testicles, widening his mouth even further, except this time because of pain.
Clutching his pearls with one hand as he laboriously breathed, he used the other to defend against the woman's terror-driven furious assault.
"You monster," She yelled, sending another punch to his shoulder, "Let go of me!"
"Hey, just stop..." Melvin complained whilst fighting the feisty woman off, "I will punch you again," He threatened waving his clenched fists in front of her face.
*Bang!*
A sudden loud bang echoed from behind him, drawing all of his attention. Turning around, he saw that the five guards he had just escaped from had destroyed the door and barged in.
Before his mind could even process this unexpected turn of events, the attendant took advantage of his momentary pause and sent another kick to his crotch.
"You!" He groaned in both pain and agitation at this brazen woman. Quickly turning around he held her arms that were aiming for another punch and squeezed them tight. Seeing her grimacing in pain, he clicked his tongue and waved her away saying, "I wasn't going to do anything you mad woman." And without even looking back, he lunged straight at the tall window looking outside.
