[Congratulations! You have created a Rune: Endless Carnage]
[Rune of Endless Carnage:
+ 5 Vitality
+ 3 Strength
+ 3 Agility
+ 2% Lifesteal]
Melvin's eyes quickly trailed over the interface, before he victoriously shouted in his mind, 'Yess!'
The result of this rune was beyond satisfactory, and he couldn't help but marvel, 'That good?!'
One had to know that in his previous big rune Cunning Venom, he wrote about dying, seeing the afterlife, fighting with gods, and waking up in a new world, among other things. Yet, the total of stats it gave him was but a 21 and 20% Basic poison resistance.
This story, on the other hand, was just about something that happened this morning. Admittedly, he did go through something that fundamentally changed him, it was incomparable to the former.
'But', He thought with a smile, 'The writing in this way is better, and there were a lot of details. Most importantly I used 56 of Mental Energy, instead of just around 19'
Looking at the rune with the blood and corpses drawn inside as it glowed with a faint red light, he thought for a moment before he went by the bed to grab his dagger, and along the way, the floating rune dutifully followed.
When he held the dagger with his right hand, his palm slightly glowed and before long, a stream of energy emerged out of it and seeped into the dagger before it disappeared. He successfully transferred the Brutal Strength Rune from his body to the dagger.
Using his left hand, he touched the floating Endless Carnage rune and it instantly fused with his body.
Summoning the interface, he studied his new stats.

Now he was using a total of four runes, three on his body, and one in his dagger. Needless to say, he felt unimaginably powerful.
"It's not enough," Melvin mumbled under his breath. He had learned that even Guard Captains were at the Novice Tier, and he was certain that someone of that level would be able to easily crush him.
If what George said turned out to be correct, then not even mentioning a captain, even the military or the guilds might be involved.
'I need to reach Rank 5 to get a new skill. Then I need to get money and find a way to buy a Class stone to get a new class, and finally, I need to try my other Title Skill.' He deeply pondered, and realizing that both his first and last goals were interconnected, he decided to start there.
Putting his trusty dagger in his waistband, he went by the bed threw his black hooded cloak over himself, and walked out of the room.
After gently knocking on the boys' door, they opened. He noticed George by the window smoking, and the other three talking amongst themselves. Needless to say, the atmosphere was bleak among them as they had no idea what terrible direction this unexpected turn of their lives might lead to.
He informed the group that he was going to run some errands, and after seeing them nod he left.
His destination was none other than the dome-shaped church at the royal plaza. He had heard from people's discussions that it's the church of the God of Wisdom, Hatys.
If he wanted to get an extra skill that would increase his survivability in the world even further, then he had to go for the religious people with the most amount of faith.
Along the way, he made sure to "accidentally" look in a different direction whenever a group of guards walked by. He had noticed that they had the terrible habit of looking deeply into people who wore cloaks just like him, much to his frustration.

The festivities seemed to be still happening, just to a much lesser degree than yesterday.
It took him around an hour of walking at a normal pace to reach the royal plaza that was situated at the very heart of the city, a testament to the city's size.
Walking down from the direction of the main western road, he briskly made his way towards the center of the plaza where long stone benches provided seating. He settled onto one, joining the others gathered there.
The previously thick clouds had already lessened to a big degree, allowing the sun to pass through. Sitting there, his eyes randomly darted from one place to the next as he watched people coming and going, but most of his attention was on the main wide luxurious entrance of the church.
He thought of walking in to take a look, but seeing how the various guards at its entrance were inspecting everyone thoroughly made him change his mind.
He had a simple goal in coming here, he wanted to find a priest and follow him. That's as far as his plans were, as for the ethics of the matter or what he would do once he followed them, he hadn't given it much thought.
As he was busy paying attention to everything in his surroundings, he noticed a girl around his new body's age walking in his direction. Following her was a big black tiger with white stripes.
The moment he noticed that this girl was indeed heeding his way, his face fell. However, he knew that this was the reality of this world from now on, he had to get over his fear of big animals, and so thinking of that, his body which was gradually standing up, paused and sat down.
'This is a good opportunity,' He thought with determination, 'I need to get used to them. I am strong now too...'
The girl was wearing grey pants, and a green crop top with her hair tied into a ponytail. Her face seemed cheerful and happy as she strode with graceful steps with a big beast following after her. Noticing the empty place beside Melvin she sat down, enjoying the warm sun rays.
Melvin's sight was quickly dominated by the huge cat as it passed in front of him and it sat in front of her. Feeling himself in such close proximity to the tiger, his body couldn't help but stiffen as his heart loudly thumped in his chest.
In his fear, he would steal quick glances at the big tiger to his left, afraid it might do something unexpected. And, just like with the bear, the same story repeated itself.
The tiger quickly noticed that something was amiss with the human, he seemed both tense and kept looking at it. Thus, it stood up to make sure!
Noticing the incoming tiger, Melvin stood up, 'Maybe it just wants to smell me like a dog', He thought trying to comfort himself. And when he saw that the girl saw its action and wasn't alarmed, he was sure that everything would go smoothly, and so he didn't run away.
But when the tiger got so close to his body that his breath fluttered his cloak, and when he noticed how impressively big the tiger was from such a close distance, and especially how viciously long and sharp its fangs were, he was petrified.
The tiger began to emit a low growl, as it sniffed him, and then...
"Roaar"
The tiger roared and lunged at him, with a predatory glint in its eyes.
Melvin who was already laser-focused on its every movement retreated one step before he kicked it squarely in the head using his right leg, with everything that he got.
His 20 Strength proved to be sufficient as the force behind his kick sent the tiger falling down on top of his owner, and it didn't stand up once again.
This turn of events attracted the attention of everyone, the nearby people who were coming and going along the plaza, those who were sitting there, and especially the girl who was crushed under his weight.
"Help," She yelled with a stifled voice. However, Melvin was still too scared as adrenaline coursed through his body to approach this big tiger once again.
His almost three-decade-long condition on Earth proved to be pervasive even in the face of the newfound strength he had acquired. When he saw a big tiger lunging at him, a very biological fear kicked into overdrive inside of his mind and attacked it.
The nearby people soon came to the girl's rescue, more specifically one short-haired woman and two tall guys.
"Are you crazy, why did you hit it? And why aren't you helping her?" They yelled as they moved the body of the unconscious tiger from the girl.
When the three people had a clearer vision of the girl underneath, a strange glint flashed through their eyes.
Melvin didn't say anything and just turned around to leave, however, the girl who had already stood up right now had different plans in mind.
A scarlet fireball with intense heat that was the size of a basketball appeared above her palm before she hurled it toward him.
Melvin was still paying attention behind him, afraid that the three people might follow after him, and thus the moment he heard the nearby people's gasps of shock and felt the intense heat behind him, he immediately jumped to the left, falling in the process.
A big ball of flames passed through where he just was a split second ago, shocking him to his core. He instantly stood up turned around, and saw the girl chasing him with a furious expression.
His eyebrows furrowed and a cold look took over his eyes, all of his previous fears found the perfect channel to course through as he became even more furious than her, 'What is wrong with this bitch?' He thought, walking towards her just the same.
"What's your problem?" He yelled once the distance between the two closed, "Why did you attack me with that spell? You could have killed me."
Clenching her fists the girl yelled back, seemingly even more angry, "You killed my beast, I am going to kill you."
Melvin knew that the beast wasn't dead, but there was no way in hell he would take this lying down and start comforting with an explanation when she was the one responsible for all of that, "It's your fault, you saw that fucking monster coming at me and you didn't do anything? What did you expect me to do? Let him bite me?"
By then a big crowd had already surrounded the two, all of the previously bored people who were hanging around the plaza seemed to find the perfect opportunity for some mild entertainment.
"Hey, you." One of the men who had helped her remove the tiger had short black hair and wore deep blue clothes with a sword by his side approached Melvin and put his rough hands on his shoulder, warning, "Stop yelling like a madman at the young lady."
Vexed by such a display, Melvin squeezed the man's hand hard before he pushed it using all of his force, "Fuck off."
The man's face contorted with pain, he then quickly stabilized himself from the force Melvin used to push him aside. His eyes quickly glanced over at the nearby crowd and witnessed several familiar faces, which only increased his humiliation by being thrown around by such a small kid.
He threw his friends a brief glance and unsheathed the sword to his side, and they both followed after as they encircled Melvin.
The tiger's owner felt even more vindicated and did the same thing to help the other avenge the killer of her beast.
