Gregory sighed as the chat in Chaos Blade spiraled into chaos, all over Flame Mage’s passive. He hovered over the screen, trying to keep up with the flood of messages.
Space Bar: @Iknoweverything You know everything besides how to use the space bar and his actual passive.
Iknoweverything: Calm down, calm down! I can just show you the passive.
Karlos tapped the Flame Mage’s icon on his screen and held down, triggering the tooltip.
Passive: Uncontained Reservoir
At the start of battle, Karlos gains a Mana Overflow effect, decreasing his attack by 10% for turns for each time he uses a skill. Each time Karlos uses an attack skill, he ignites for 4 turns on the enemy he damaged. Increases allies’ attack stat by 4% for each ignite effect (max 3).
Iknoweverything: @Space Bar I knew that.
Horny&Honest: @Space Bar, @Iknoweverything, @IDK Nothing I sense some tension here. Is there a story? Did Space Bar get cheated on by Iknoweverything with IDK Nothing? A love affair, perhaps? Mortal enemies now? Spill the tea. 🍵
User123: Spill 🍵🍵🍵
Ihave####: Spill 🍵
The chat was quickly overrun with “spill” emojis. Greg leaned back, cringing at how fast this had gotten out of control. Meanwhile, on his screen, the Flame Mage stood dwarfed by the towering demon he was currently grappling with.
Onscreen
[Demon Prince of the South Army]
Level: ??
Characteristics: [Silver]
Greg shook his head. “It’s a story battle,” he muttered to himself. The distinct lack of a proper passive was disappointing. He’d been hoping this would hint at a new character release, but it seemed like no such luck today. His attempt to divert attention away from the chat drama had failed miserably.
Back in the Chat
While the Demon Prince loomed over Flame Mage onscreen, a new trend was brewing in the chat.
Iknoweverything: Please ban Horny&Honest. @Orion
Space Bar: Seconded. Please ban Horny&Honest. @Orion
IDK Nothing: Yeah, ban Horny&Honest. @Orion. Wait, who’s Orion?
Space Bar: Orion’s a mod for Chaos Blade. Tag him.
Horny&Honest: Orion won’t ban me. He loves my tea-spilling energy. Right, @Orion?
Gregory smirked as the chat chaos finally took an amusing turn. Even while the Flame Mage was locked in an epic battle against the towering Demon Prince of the South Army, the absurd antics in the chat refused to let up. The mix of ridiculous predictions and Orion’s cryptic messages made the whole experience more entertaining than frustrating.
“Alright, chat,” Greg said, his voice calm but laced with anticipation. “Let’s see if Flame Mage can pull off a miracle.”
He queued up Rank 3: Single Target and Rank 2: AoE abilities, focusing on the mechanics onscreen. His mouse hovered briefly before confirming the attacks, a satisfying burst of animations lighting up his screen.
Rank 3: Inflicts 120% of Attack as damage on one enemy and 25% of Attack as splash damage on all other enemies.
Chat, naturally, had its own wild expectations for the results.
I Love Big Numbers: We’re expecting two hundred thousand. No, wait—two million! Make it big!
I Love Small Numbers: Nah, it’s gotta be a clean 2.
I Only Know Negative Numbers: -2.3. What? You think I’m joking?
Greg let out a laugh. “Negative damage? Alright, I see we’ve got a math genius here.”
Gregory’s smirk faltered as the Flame Mage’s attack landed. The grand explosion of flames engulfed the Demon Prince, accompanied by animations so dramatic they could make a final boss weep. The numbers floated onscreen, promising glory.
And then reality hit.
1.
Yes, a single digit. Just the number “1” hovered above the Demon Prince’s hulking form, mocking Greg’s every expectation.
The chat, predictably, went wild.
I Love Big Numbers: LMAO, ONE. ABSOLUTE MAD LAD FLAME MAGE!
I Love Small Numbers: Called it. I told you. 2 would’ve been generous.
I Only Know Negative Numbers: See? I was close.
User123: ONE??? We waited for THAT? The animations alone were worth more damage!

Gregory buried his face in his hands, groaning in disbelief. “One. ONE. All of that buildup for ONE damage?” He peeked through his fingers at the screen, where the Demon Prince remained completely unfazed, towering over the Flame Mage like an insurmountable wall.
“Chat,” he said, voice dripping with mock despair. “You were right. This is why I don’t trust gacha characters. They always find a way to disappoint me.”
Space Bar: It’s a damage cap. It’s a stays in the story battle boss screen, genius.
I Love Big Numbers: I REFUSE to believe this is intentional. Give me my damage back!
User123: Greg, say it’s a bug. PLEASE.
Greg laughed helplessly, shaking his head. “Nope, no bug. This is a damage cap, folks. Welcome to Chaos Blade’s way of saying ‘you’re not supposed to win.’”
The Demon Prince’s health bar, while barely scratched, suddenly began to glow. The towering demon leaned forward, his massive claw raised to strike down the Flame Mage in a single blow.
The battle cut out and then a animation started playing.
The Demon Prince’s booming laughter echoed, and the claw crept closer to the flame mage his normal skill looking like an ultimate . The Flame Mage was seconds away from obliteration. Greg clenched his fists, cursing the game’s story mechanics.
Then it happened.
The screen flickered as an enormous shadow fell across the battlefield. A deep, commanding voice rang out, shaking the very fabric of the game world:
“Enough, whelp. You will not claim him.”
Then a red-hot arrow of fire smashed against the demon's claw pushing the whole demon back stumbling.
The camera panned dramatically as the Flame Mage’s father appeared. A massive figure wreathed in flames, his aura alone caused the Demon Prince to hesitate.
The chat exploded again.
I Love Big Numbers: DAD IS HERE. SAVE US, FLAME DADDY!
Space Bar: @Iknoweverything Care to explain THIS mechanic?
Iknoweverything: …No comment.
Horny&Honest (Ban Evade): Flame Daddy supremacy.
Greg chuckled as the Flame Mage’s father strode onto the battlefield, his mere presence pushing back the Demon Prince’s aura. The father extended his hand, flames coalescing into a wooden bow that dwarfed anything the Flame Mage could conjure.
“Chat,” Greg said, “I’m officially renaming this character Flame Daddy.”
I Love Big Numbers: ALL HAIL FLAME DADDY.
With the battle now in his father’s hands, the Flame Mage was suddenly shielded by a dome of fire. Flames danced like a protective barrier as the Demon Prince roared in frustration. Gregory watched in awe as the father launched into action, pulling back the red string of his fiery bow sending a large arrow made of flames into the Demon Prince, causing the Demon to be blown away.
“This,” Greg declared, leaning forward, “is how you do big damage. Take notes, Flame Mage.”
The Demon Prince staggered back, snarling, but it was clear the real fight had just begun. “Alright, chat,” Greg said, his voice full of renewed energy. “Let’s see if Flame Daddy can carry this one home.”
The animation ended returning to the battle. A new character appearing

Greg leaned back in his chair, unable to contain his grin as the chat devolved into absolute pandemonium. The release of Emberis, Herald of Eternal Flame had just turned what started as an underwhelming story battle into one of the most hyped moments he’d seen in Chaos Blade history.
Back in the chat, the reactions were as fiery as Emberis himself.
“I Love Big Numbers: 900% DAMAGE? And doubles damage? That's 1800% percent of damage! This guy doesn’t hit—he obliterates”!
“Horny&Honest (Ban Evade): Emberis can burn me anytime.”
“Space Bar: Ban this guy AGAIN.”
“User123: FLAME DADDY IS THE ONLY DADDY. #Blessed”
“Horny$Honest: @ Karlos Can I steal your daddy?”
