ok people im going to start over on this ff because as you saw it was ruff and had many different problems to it if possible im going to try and fix it and give you all a better story overall and just so you know im not the best at beginnings so stay with me i have also lost my proofreader so sorry. and one more thing some of my ideas i got from books ive read and not from the ff of others but i might use some of there ideas. so there ideas are there own not mine So unless your a Burrito please comment. the main character will talk about him self

Prologue:Past and Future

[p=center]10 YEARS AGO[/p]
10 years ago I was pretty much a good for nothing rotting bully of a kid. I picked fights with everyone i was failing my classes and came close to getting kicked out of school. In fact there where 3 reasons why i wasn't. 1st was though I was rude and picked fights with all the other kids, i actually never hurt them any worse than a small bruise or a nice nap for and an hour or 2. 2nd was while i was a bully and was failing the teachers and principals loved me because while i myself was failing, i actually kept other bully's away from the school and down in school from grades 1st to 7th. And 3rd was my 1 friend Alisa Joy Sanford who was also my first crush and the one with the best grades in the class. now i know what you're thinking a little cliched right but its true she was my first crush and one day she came up to me and told me.
“Earl listen to me you gotta stop all this fighting. If you don't your either going to fail this year or get kicked out of the school. Didn't you promise to protect me from everything you could?” She said
As she spoke i stopped what i was doing and thought about what she was saying. she was right if i didn't stop with this lifestlye i would indeed end up failing and i did promise to protect her from everything a human could protect her from which with modern day weaponry and technology included everything but death and nuclear warheads as i thought about that i realized something. ‘Wait a second if she keeps raising her grades at the rate she is then forget me failing in 1 or 2 years she will skip a grade or 2’ as i finished thinking about what she had said i made my decision “Alright, i will stop with all the fighting and actually apply myself to class Alisa and I promise you this i will NEVER break that promise of ours.” I said as we walked back to class. and i kept my promise.
(Authors Note: for all of y'all thinking rip off artist or cliche user or something like that im basing this part on my own life partly so no commenting on it if you're just going to make fun of it and for those who are wondering about there speech patterns there in the deep south not quite as deep as the tip of Florida but pretty deep)

After that day i stopped fighting and apologized to everyone i hurt and then i applied myself to my classes quickly rising to 2nd best grades in the class. i had never actually applied myself to my studies so everyone had just thought i had below average intelligence when in reality i had just not paid attention so when my grades skyrocketed. Most thought i was cheating so they changed my sheets into different ones from the others, but when my grades didn't go down they finally had to accept it. i was smart. Well anyways after that i had to figure out a way to get rid of my anger problems and excessive strength and according my mom and dad i should go with football and reading. But while i agreed on the reading i didn't really enjoy football that was when my dad had an epiphany.
“Then if not Football son how about martial arts? your Grandfathers 2nd brothers 3rd sons wife's uncle is an
ex-SEAL Command Master Chief who was stationed for a time in china where he got along great with nearby shoalin temple who taught him a lot after he embraced many of there teachings after which he was shipped home after destroying a international terrorist group. He plans on opening a martial arts dojo based around styles he learned in china but before he does he needs at least 2 students. so how about you and Alisa join?” was what he said and so i did.
So for the last 5 years ive studies harder at school, and at my uncle millers dojo trained in 2 main styles of kung-fu the Hou Gun and Damour Jian styles and some of the barehanded styles alisa joined in to and learned several styles orbiting around knives and barehanded along with some Hou-Gun like me. as we walked home from school one day she told me about something that sounded amazing.
“Earl have you heard about that new game they are going to release in 5 years?” she asked me i just looked at her blankly and she said “as i thought after those years of you fighting all the time i thought you’de start playing games more often but instead nowadays all you do is read and practice martial-arts. oh well to explain it seems some company in Korea is going to release a VR game called Royal Road in 5 years. its the hot topic for the entire world right now they have been talking about it all week. it seems you will be able to play as anyone or anything you want.”

as she finished speaking, again thought about what she said and what i thought was ‘Dega-vu? it does sound pretty awesome but wouldn't we have graduated from college by then? after all thanks to skipping grades me and her are in 12th grade now.’ ”but wont we have graduated from college by then?” i asked as we walked by the mall.
“Yes more than likely. Thats why i think its really cool because even if we arnt living near each other we can still see each other through the game wont you please buy it?” she asked as i looked i knew i couldnt say no
“Sure. I will buy it when it comes out. Why i will even be the first to enter it.” i promised she smiled at me with delight. while we walked home i better find out something about games i only ever played Mario!
[p=center]PRESENT DAY[/p]
After that a few months later we graduated. we had huge party and went home over the summer we both applied for the same college and where accepted during beach day in the summer we were attacked by some guys who wanted to `Hang Out` with alisa before they could do anything i attacked them while alisa ran to call the cops a few feet away at a pay phone. i managed to beat the crap out of them but one of them managed to get me good in the leg with a knife. After the cops arrived and got me to the hospital the doctors told me my leg was damn near shot. I would be able to walk but i would walk with a limp unless i could get someone to massage my muscles ever morning. I told them i would be fine Alisa came walking in talking about how its all her fault and crying all over the place. I Told her to shut it and listen. It wasn't her fault it was mine i was the one who attacked it was me that promised to protect and it was me who didn't see that guys knife so stop with the water works. After that i left the hospital with permission and to prove to her i was just fine i went bought myself and herself 2 lottery tickets and when we scratched them to see if we won. And we actually did we both won the $5000 for 20 years per week lottery!!! We where surprised of course. After that day we ended up in the college we wanted to go to and went on to live the lives we always dreamed of but she ended up moving away. it wasn't far but nowadays we rarely see each other but i never forgot our promise. 1 Year after we graduated i the capsules i pre-ordered for us and took one to her house and set it up while she was at a friends house. I left a note the door of her house Saying

We had decided to start in different cities than each other and choose different races than each other that are also related. As i drove home after setting it up i called her and told he “Alisa its set up im going to beat you into the game ahahhahahah” i laughed as she Yelled “YOU SNEAKY GIANT BASTARD!!! I WILL GET YOU” and i heard a car speeding off as she hung up. as soon as i got home i climbed into the capsule and waited for the timer to finish and looked at the tiny screen that had Alisa huffing and puffing in it as she finally got in her capsule and again laughed as she Yelled “EARL I KNOW YOUR WATCHING THIS IM SO GOING TO KICK YOUR ASS!!!” i turned off the small tv and watched the count down start.
