The sound of chopping woods woke up the birds sleeping on the branch of an oak tree.A young man in his twenties was preparing firewood for the upcoming winter. The young village man woken up early in the morning to swing his axe while his mother prepare some breakfast.

“Evan!” shouted the mother.

“Yes mom!”the young man replied while readying a log to be chopped.

“Can you go to the market and fetch me some lamb meat?”his mother asked while peeking her head out of the door.

“The butcher stalls are not open yet this early.”answered Evan to his mother.

“Old man Langley said to get the lamb meat I ordered the week before this morning.”his mom shouted from the kitchen.

“Alright. Give me the money and I will fetch it from him then.” Evan wiped his sweats pouring from his forehead and looked up to the sky with a sigh.

Evan was walking down the unpaved road of a small village called Craya. The morning mist damped Evan’s coat and pants as he walked briskly to the butcher shop. He quickly entered a shop with a butchered meat picture sign hanging on top.

There, an old man with a bald head and grey beard was waiting at the counter.

“Up early aren’t ya Evan boy.”

“I always did and stop calling me a boy. I am a grown ass adult now with hair down there.” Evan remark as he put an empty rag on the counter.

“ ‘ere 10 kilo of lamb meat like ya mother ordered.”

Langley put a big chunk of wrapped lamb meat on the counter.

A pouch full of 50 copper and 3 silver coins was put on the counter by Evan. He then slowly stored the meat into his rag and fasten the rope closing it. He sling the rag on his shoulder like it was nothing.

“Say hi to ya mom fer me will ya.”old man Langley said as he picked up his butcher knife.

“I’ll do. Alright then. I hope you have nice day old man.”

Evan left Old Man Langley butcher shop as he wave his hand to the old man Langley.

As Evan about to run back, he heard someone shouting.

”Big news! Big news!”

Evan turned his head and saw a man carrying a piece of paper,a nail and a hammer was running towards the village news board. The man nailed the paper on the board, turned away from the board and began to shout as the village people started to gather.

“The Emperor has spoken.A vile and evil dragon has been spotted and a town has been grazed down to ashes by the dragon. To anywho that managed to kill,bring down, subdue or slay the dragon will be rewarded by His Majesty the Emperor with 1000 gold coins, fame and glory along with the title of ‘Dragon Slayer’.”
