Chapter 20 Strange Feeling

Chapter 20 Strange Feeling

The next day Liam called Ellie and me along with Derek to his office to talk about our plan of action. We were supposed to do it yesterday, but our cook wouldn't let anyone leave the mess hall until it was cleaned. I heard this time was quite terrible and from the looks on the faces of the crew. I knew that I made a smart decision of leaving early!

"We are about to be close to Renhart it seems." Liam groaned as he held his stomach. The man was forced to consume the majority of the food last night and of course, he felt ill.

"The merchant city huh? I think there is a place not far from there where we can drop anchor. We could then send a small group to get supplies."Derek added as he leaned over against the wall. Even though he was the first mate, he would also take the role as an adviser to Liam.

"Hmm...but who to pick to enter that city?"Liam continued to groan as he laid his chin on the table.

The door suddenly opened, and Vivian strolled inside with a smile on her face. I couldn't help but be slightly frightened because of it.

"I, of course, have to go. I can't let anyone else choose my ingredients. That's fine right captain?" Vivian said with a smile.

"Y-yeah, that's fine!" Liam nodded his head furiously as he would shrink back. "Curse that woman! One day I'll take care of her!" He thought.

Although that the day will never come.

"That's one. Who else?"Derek asked.

"I'm going too." I raised my hand, "I love the ocean and all, but I kinda want to stretch my land legs."

"I'm also going with them!" Ellie quickly added on. If she could use her legs, she probably would have leaped into the air. She wasn't letting Ian out of her sight for one moment.

"Alright. Vivian, you are in charge. Make sure those two don't get into any sort of trouble. You know what happens in Renhart."Liam solemnly said as he tossed a small silver cube towards Vivian, and she would catch it with her left hand placing it into a pouch attached to the side of her hip.

"Of course I know. If any of those bastards try anything then...I'll just crush them! Simple as that."Vivian clenched her fist tightly as she smiled with confidence.

Suddenly a knock was heard on the door.

"Come in," Liam said.

A crew member opened the door and saluted Liam.

"We are now coming up on Felaasi Forest captain."

"Gahahaha! Alright!" Liam slammed his hands down onto the table, "Go, drop anchor a little far from the shore. You three go change into some different clothes. We don't need you exposing us in Renhart."

"Yes, Captain!" The crew member quickly disappeared.

"That's it! Let's go kiddo!"Vivian grabbed hold of Ellie's wheelchair and rapidly pushed her out of the office.

"W-wait! Waaah!"Ellie shrieked at how fast she was moving down the hall.

"H-hey!" I looked out of the cabin and saw that the two were already gone.

(What's the big rush?!)

I shrugged as I walked to my personal room to get a change of clothes.

Meanwhile back in the office----

"Sigh...Captain are you sure about just sending those three? I mean Vivian can be responsible, but we all know the reason why she is going to Renhart. We are limited on time."Derek rubbed the nape of his neck as he glanced at Liam.

"Gahahaha! Of course, I know why she wanted to go! I'm prepared. I won't let that woman have her way! Uzo!"Liam stood up from his chair suddenly as he focused his eyes in front of him.

"Yes, captain?"

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

A short white-haired man suddenly appeared in the office dressed in complete black clothing. He would keep his body straight as he gazed at Liam with his amber-colored eyes. His hand firmly gripped the hilt of his simple blade that strapped to his lower back. Uzo was a man that always followed the captain's instructions without fail. One strange thing about him was that he didn't have any sort of presence, and if you didn't focus, you probably wouldn't know that he was there in front of you.

"I want you to follow them from the shadows and keep them in check. You know what to do if anything goes south. " Liam placed his hand on Uzo's shoulder.

"You can count on me, captain!"Uzo had saluted Liam just before he disappeared.

"For once I see you are using your brain."Derek shrugged his shoulders as he snickered.

"Gahahaha! I think we should have a training session. You are looking a bit weak recently."Liam smiled at Derek as he cracked his knuckles, releasing a bit of his killing intent.

"Hahaha..."Derek could only smile grimly. "Damn! Me and my big mouth!" He thought as he was dragged away.

Ian's POV----

I decided on a simple black shirt with blue pants. I would also throw on a bright blue jacket that kept a few essential objects.

(I should probably leave my weapon behind...)

I glanced at the gun-blade on my bed. The weapon has never left my side since I was young.

"Although, I hate to do it, but I think I'll have to leave it behind. Can't risk it since it has Axe Lion's Emblem engraved into it." I sighed as I stepped out of my room, and walked up to the main deck.

My eyes widened a bit as the breathtaking scenery of a lush forest entered my eyes.

The country of Averel.

Although, the part I was looking at was called the Felaasi Forest. The forest wasn't anything special besides its massive trees that flourished across the land.

The ship had dropped anchor at a place a bit far away from the shore just in case they have to escape.

I looked around for a moment before spotting Vivian and Ellie waiting for me on the small boat that was attached to the Gaultier by rope.

"Hurry up already! We need to get there quick!" Vivian shouted as she noticed me.

The woman might be one of the fiercest women on the planet, but her beauty was enough to make it worth the risk to court her. Vivian was just wearing regular clothes that were tailored to fit her size. One of the things that stood out was the rugged blue shorts that exposed her incredibly long legs. I could notice quite a few of the crew members couldn't keep their eyes off them.

I stepped into the small boat, and the surrounding crew members would slowly let the boat down by a pulley system until it touches the water. Once we were all clear, we rapidly untied the rope from the tiny boat.

"Cough..."Ellie cleared her throat as she gazed up at me, her cheeks turning slightly red.

"What is it?" I furrowed my brow as I glanced at her.

"Don't you have anything to say?"Ellie asked smilingly. She wanted Ian to say something about the way she looked.

I glanced at her and noticed the simple yellow dress that matched her petite body. I had to admit that it made her look quite adorable, but I wasn't sure what she was hinting at and could only shrug my shoulders as I didn't know what to say.

" Hmph!..."Ellie turned her nose upwards as she crossed her arms. "Idiot! Not even going to compliment me?" She thought.

"Alright Let-"

"HEY! YOU WERE JUST GOING TO LEAVE ME WITHOUT CHECKING IF I WAS OK!?"The little fairy Fay shouted as she instantly flew onto my head and started wailing on me with her tiny fists.

"F-Fay we checked on you this morning, and you were still sleeping!"I quickly grabbed the fairy with my right hand. I then caressed her face gently with my cheek as I was actually relieved that she was doing better.

Fay smiled happily for a moment before hastily replacing it with a frown, "Hmph! You still should have waited! I told you that you aren't going to go anywhere without me!!"

Fay puffed her cheeks out as she crossed her little arms. She was mad they were about to leave her, but she was also happy to see that Ian cared about her.

"I don't think it's such a brilliant idea of you coming with us to Renhart, Fay." Vivian brought her face close to Fay's.

"Why not?" Fay tilted her head to the side.

"Renhart is definitely the city of merchants...If they see a cute little fairy like you flying around, they might try to capture you and sell you seeing how you are the only one on the planet."Vivian solemnly said.

"Capture me? Sell me?"A fierce glint flashed in her eyes, "Just watch and see what happens if they try! I'll just need to crush them with my overwhelming strength! Look at my muscles!"

I watched Fay flex her non-existent muscles. The scene would have probably sent a person into a state of shock from cuteness. However, after the incident with the Qualze, I realized how strong Fay actually was. But I still wondered why she never used that magic before.

"She could hide in my bag?"Ellie suggested as she pointed to a little bag strapped to the back of her wheelchair.

Fay flew into the bag as Ellie unfastened it, and wiggled around inside of it to get comfortable.

"Yeah, I could stay in here. There isn't much in here besides this journal..."

"DON'T read that!" Ellie's face became flushed with brilliant red as she flailed her arms into the air.

"Oh...Ok, I won't read it!"Fay said. " I'm going to read it anyways~ " She thought as she chuckled softly.

"Ok! Let's just head over to the shore already!"Vivian sat down in the boat as she grabbed hold of the oars. She flexed her muscles before starting to row the boat. The boat suddenly moved as fast as a running horse on land!

"Ahhh!" Ellie and I screamed in unison as we fell into the boat from the sudden increase in speed.

"H-Hey! Careful out there!" Fay shouted hysterically from within the bag.

(What is wrong with this lady?!)

I managed to look up at Vivian's face she rowed the boat towards grassy shore, and I could instantly see the drool dripping down the side of her lips.

I started to have a strange feeling that thieves are going to be the last thing I'm worried about on this resupply trip.
