Underestimating the necromancer - Chapter 4

"Why did he make such a proposition?"

Right now, Noboru was inside an arena against a two-meter troll in front of him.

What actually happened was those so-called unexpected events forcing him to beat the strongest troll from the troll tribe to make the trolls to submit him.

Fifteen minutes ago,

"The troll village should be not too far away from there."

Looking at the mini-map, Noboru was guiding Felius and thirty goblins to the troll's village. They already walked for around thirty minutes, the troll's village was deep inside the forest, the road to go there was narrow.

When they finally reached the troll's village entrance, two trolls were standing in front of the village's entrance. Both of them approached Noboru and Felius.

"This area is the troll's village. You cannot go further."

"I'm here to talk with the village's chief."

Answering to one of the trolls, they made eyes contact and the other one went inside the troll's village looking for the village's chief.

After a minute, the village's chief who was looking like a shaman came near to Noboru and Felius.

"What you guys want from me?"

The shaman troll who just arrived asked.

"Alexia El Pacio, the fourteenth princess of the demon lord is in need of manpower, you guys who are residing near her territory must to join the princess' troop and fight for the incoming war. Of course, rewards will be given to you if get results."

Repeating the same words to the trolls, Noboru said.

"We are the proud trolls of the Zuran Forest, you high elf should understand that we don't want to leave the forest and join the princess' troop."

Hearing the shaman's chief answer Noboru threatened.

"If you refuse to join the princess' troop, only death is awaiting you. We'll consider that you don’t want to help the princess and will be considered as rebels."

The shaman chief who didn't even consider it as a threat thought for a minute then said.

"We don't dare to provoke the princess' wrath, but if we decide to agree, you'll first need to prove your strength to us. Everything in this village is decided by the strongest one, show us your strength by beating the strongest warrior of our village."

'Felius should be fine in this situation.'

While thinking so, the troll mocked Noboru.

"Your subordinate seems to be strong, but you really look like a weakling."

Hearing that mockery from the shaman chief, Felius glared at the shaman chief.

"Don't underestimate my master you lowly troll, master you should show him your greatness and destroy that weakling warrior of their lowly village."

Hearing the proposition by Felius, the shaman chief made a slight smile while making eyes contact with the troll guard next to him and said.

"Then let me guide you to the arena."

'They are really underestimating me uh... That can't be helped, I'm wearing the magic concealing ring after all...'

Noticing the plot of the shaman chief, Noboru sight helplessly

"On today's match, our best warrior Rankan, as you all know is the unmatched gladiator of the arena, versus the Argus, the necromancer who arrived a few minutes ago!"

While the announcer was detailing the opponents from each side, the gate of the arena on both side opened.

Noboru walked towards its opponent until they were approximatively at 20 yards away from each other.

It was a rule of the arena for both, warrior and magic caster to balance both sides because if the magic caster was too far away at the start, then he got an advantage and same goes for the warrior who could nuke easily the magic caster at short range.

"Rankan!" "Rankan!" "Rankan!"

The cheers from the crowd could be heard surrounding the arena, Noboru was at a disadvantage when it comes to supporters since he was fighting in their village, but loud cheers from Felius and the goblins could be heard from a corner of the arena.

"Those guys... I think I should at least put some efforts into this fight."

Looking at his opponent, the troll was 2-meter tall. He was wearing a big axe; strong muscles could be seen through his whole body.

Looking at his calm composure, Noboru could see the reason why he was called the strongest warrior.

He was a little surprised by the size of the troll at first, but he remained calm and used his spell [Identify] to see his opponent's stat.

Name: Rankan Karn Title: Gladiator of the Zuran's troll tribes Level: 82 HP: 28'530 Rage: 0/100 Strength: 630 Agility: 548 Vitality: 320 Stamina: 420 Intelligence: 150 Wisdom: 140 Physical Power: 1'260 Magical Power: 450 Magic Resistance Fire: 20% Water: 28% Earth: 32% Wind: 40% Holy Magic: 42% Black Magic: 25%

Rankan's stat wasn't bad, for a warrior and at his level, it was something worth praising.

Warrior, compared to the magic caster class was a class that specialized in close combat. They use rage instead of Mana Points and the more rage they obtained, the stronger they become.

Once a warrior reaches the maximum amount of rage, he becomes enraged and wins a new passive ability for 30 seconds called [Berserk], increasing his damages dealt by 30%.

The only way to win rage for a warrior is through hitting his enemies, the more the warrior hit its enemies, the more rage he obtains. The warrior can also generate a slight amount of rage by receiving damage.

Even though the enemy was only at level 82, Noboru didn't lower his awareness. Now that he came to this world, once he died, he was dead. Warrior was a counter class for such a magic caster as a Necromancer, the more enemies the necromancer summons, the more rage the war could generate.

"Both of you are you ready?"

While thinking of what kind of strategy or offensive spells Noboru should use, the announcer asked. Both of them nodded.

"Let the combat...Start!"

Directly after the announcer announced the start of the match, Rankan rushed towards Noboru as fast as the wind and lifted his axe aiming vertically at him without letting Noboru the time to cast a spell.
