This is not really an option - Chapter 3

After entering inside the forest, Noboru noticed the presence of wild wolves. They were hiding themselves surrounding Felius and Noboru but they didn't seem to appear because of their survival instinct making them on guard.

Looking at Felius, Noboru said.

"Make them appeared before me."

"Understood."

Felius thrust his sword on the ground and used [Provocation Waves], it was a spell of a warrior tank specialization. It caused to the nearby enemies within 25 yards to attack the warrior. Felius was a good commander but he was also a strong warrior as well. He skillfully attracted the 5 wild wolves surrounding them and with another spell, [Obey!] force the wolves to stand before Noboru.

'This is a good opportunity to try some offensives spells'

Noboru tried a basic spell such as [Lock] but today, he wanted to try offensives spells and their effectiveness against weak creatures such as wild wolves.

"Touch of Death!"

Using one of his favorite necromancer's spell, [Touch of Death], dark lightning appeared from his finger and with an amazing speed reached the wild wolves in front of him. A huge thunder-like lightning could be heard once the spell was launched which slightly surprised Noboru.

'Wha- the spell is way too strong!'

It was a total instant kill. Noboru predicted the result but didn't expect the spell to be that strong. The animation of the spell was surprising compared to the game and the noise of the lightning was even more astonishing.

"It was a spell worthy of your greatness Argus-sama."

Ignoring Felius' praise, Noboru tried a second spell towards the corpses of the wild wolves. [Create Hellhound], the corpses of the wild wolves started to stand up again and their furs darkened. Dark red stripes appeared on their bodies and 5 Hellhounds has been created through the bodies of the fives wild wolves.

'They look fiercer in real...'

While having such thought, Felius spoke.

"Having 5 Hellhound as recognition's squad is already nice, as expected from Argus-sama."

"Yes. The amount of hellhound that I can create is limited to 20 but as expected the mana required to create one is really tiring."

Creating 5 hellhounds at the same time drained almost 43% of Noboru's mana. He didn't have mana potions in his inventory yet. Without knowing if something unexpected was going to happen during their recruitment, Noboru decided to only create 5 hellhounds for now.

"The goblins' village should not be too far away from there, let's go."

Locating the goblins village 200 meters away from them, Noboru and Felius walked towards the goblin's village with the 5 Hellhounds following them from behind.

"Death's here! Death's coming!"

The scout Goblin, Gad came back towards us while shouting.

"Stop acting like an ogre and explain it in an understandable manner Gad."

Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

I knocked his head while saying so. Gad calmed down and explained.

"Brother Gud! This is bad! Two persons are coming towards the village, both of them are high elves. One of them was releasing a huge and dangerous atmosphere leaking out from his body! They even had 5 Hellhounds following them! We should just run away from the village until it's too late!"

Gad panicked once again after properly explained the situation.

"high elves?"

Did I mishear just now? high elves are supposed to hate demons, what are they doing in the demon world?

While I was having such thought, the village's chief Gudur appeared behind us.

"Why are you guys doing such a commotion there? Did something happen?"

"Death's here village's chief Gudur! Death's coming!"

Gad was once again panicked and shouted at the village's chief after the second knock on his head, I explained the situation to Gudur.

"I see... We need to summon all the goblins in the village. Evacuate the Elders and the women, call all of the others goblins and get ready to fight in case they show hostility."

After around 2 minutes, two people appeared in the village's entrance. Looking at the high elf who was wearing a black armor gear, he was definitely leaking a dangerous aura surrounding his body.

There is no way we can do something against him if he really came to destroy the village. Gudur who also understood that came forward and spoke to the two high elves.

"Welcome to our village sir, it's rare to see high elves in such a remote place. What brings you to our village?"

The black-armored high elf looked at Gudur with an indifferent expression.

Gudur started shaking while looking at the black-armored high elf, but it was the other one who was wearing a dark blue robe who answered.

"We are here to recruit you, goblins."

Hearing the other dark blue-robed high elf's words, Gudur tried to remain calm but showed a slightly surprised expression.

I wonder what do they mean by recruiting us?

Before I could even think of something plausible, the dark blue-robed high elf continued.

"Alexia El Pacio, the fourteenth princess of the demon lord is in need of manpower, you guys who are residing near her territory must to join the princess' troop and fight for the incoming war. Of course, rewards will be given to you if get results."

Those high elves are working for the fourteenth princess? How did she even managed to win over them?

But I couldn't get any useful answer whenever I used my brain. I honestly think that it a bad idea to ask so I just listened like the others goblins with caution.

Gudur hesitated for few seconds then asked his second question.

"But what about our village?"

The dark blue-robed high elf answered while showing a pleasant smile.

"You will have move near the castle, we'll help you to reconstruct your village there."

Gudur who relaxed asked the third question.

"What is the rewards if we somehow manage to get results?"

This time, it was the black-armored high elf who spoke.

"You'll become officially soldiers of the fourteenth princess obeying and fighting for her sake. You'll also earn a total amount of 1 gold coin per month as remuneration."

1 gold coin! Us goblins couldn't earn such an amount even after a whole year. With such an income every month, our village will become more prosperous than ever!

We were having tough times these past few months because of money and since it was the demon world, there were rarely humans.

The only way for us goblins to earn an income was to sell the woods inside the forest but it was still not enough to feed the whole village.

Hearing such a proposition, I unconsciously leaked my saliva.

The dark blue-robed high elf didn’t stop there, showing a smirky smile he said.

"Just imagine, if you show prowess, you'll even be able to become a general!"

Just the thought of me becoming a general made my saliva to leak even more, but the next words stopped my wild imagination and gave me chills on my back.

"But if you refuse our offers, only death is awaiting you. We'll consider that you don't want to help the princess and you will be considered as rebels. Now, what are you guys going to do?"

While clapping both of his fingers, the hellhounds started to show hostility and began to growl towards us.

The answer from us was obviously immediate.

"My lady, are you sure that it was a good idea to trust this person?"

Louise was serving a cup of tea to Alexia El Pacio asked while having a doubtful expression. Alexia made a pleasant smile while answering to her.

"You don't need to worry that much Louise. You should know about mom's 100% correct's predictions. If I started to have doubt about him, then that means that I don't trust my own mother."

"But..."

Louise still wanted to retort something but ended by shutting her mouth.

"Anyway, if mom's prediction is correct, he should be able to come back with good results tonight."

'I also don't know why I'm having such trust towards him, even though I only met him yesterday... But the moment we made eyes contact, I could strangely feel at ease.'

While having such thought, Alexia drank her tea then muttered.

"I'm having high expectations for you, Argus."
