I walked through the gates, and one of the dragons with its shimmering scales watched me as I went. I took the gate guards advice and went to the building at the center of the city. It was magnificent, I had never seen anything so huge! The amazing part was dragons of all sizes were walking in and out of the giant doors with humans of all ages at their side. I had always heard that dragons were solitary creatures so I was amazed to see so many of them with humans. I had heard that they mainly lived in the Rengal mountains way to the north of us humans. As I walked through the doors I saw a younger looking dragon just standing there watching me.
I'm glad you got my summons, my name is Soluna. I heard in the vaults of my mind, and Soluna turned a brilliant gold. You are the one I choose! She roared into my mind and upon hearing those words I ran and embraced my partner. I had been chosen, just like my parents and siblings before Me! As I slowly let go and caught a glimpse of my surroundings. My parents were standing there watching, waiting for me to notice them before heading over. I hugged them in confusion.
"What are you doing here, shouldn't you be with the council?"
"Moondance told us that Soluna would be making her choice today, then we found your bed empty this morning. We were so hoping it would be you she chose Zeffora! We love you, happy birthday!"
My mom said as they both wrapped me up in a giant hug.
"You have a lot of training to go through now, so I guess we need a new babysitter for the other two sets of twins won't we?"

My dad teased me, he knows I hate babysitting my siblings when my parents have to go to work.
You have more siblings? Soluna quietly asked, her scales turning violet with curiosity.
"I'm the middle of 9 kids and the only one without a twin!"
"That's what makes you so special Zeffora. You are destined to do great things." My mom said as she gave me a hug.
"Let's take you on a tour of the greatest school in all of Atlantis." My dad said grandly as we started walking.
"This first floor is for all first year students, the rear of the building is where the bedrooms and dining areas are. Where we are now is the front desk, and those double doors to the left lead to the library."
"So will I be able to come home every night, or do I have to stay here?"
"You will get to come home for the summer and winter holidays, but other than that you need to stay and focus on your training."
"What all will I be trained in and how long will this take? Whenever the older twins come home they would tell me I would never be chosen so they never answered my questions."
"The first year will be spent on strengthening yours and Soluna's bond as the focus. You will learn history and beginning magic also. The training takes 4 years to complete."
"Wow sounds intense, but I hope it'll be fun too!"
As we were talking we got to a hallway full of doors and my dad stopped at a specific door and looked at me before opening it.
"Well this is your new home!"
It was a simple looking room, there was a desk, a giant window with a window seat, and the biggest bed I have ever seen!
"That bed is huge! Is Soluna really going to get that big? I mean she's the size of one of the mastiffs back home."
Trust me I have a lot of growing to do, as do you. This bed isn't meant for one, it is meant for us to share to strengthen our bond.
Soluna put a claw on my shoulder before we started to explore our new home. My parents said they needed to get back to work and left us alone so I could recover from my journey and rest up before dinner.
