I wake up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day. I look over at my alarm clock and see that it is 7am. "I guess I'm a morning person now." I hop out of bed and move to my refrigerator. I look through the breakfast options and choose a breakfast burrito. As the Ready Eat Station starts preparing my meal I open up the Quest tab.
Quest Log: (please choose a new quest)
1. Rob your neighbor III: Pick any person or persons within 1 mile and steal at least $7500 from their home. (75xp + 1xp per additional $100)
2. Rob a gas station III: steal at least $15k from a gas station. (150xp + 1xp per additional $100)
3. Mug a stranger III: Rob at least 15 people. (xp rewarded based on difficulty and number of targets)
Interesting, all 3 quests are progressing together. When will I get new options? I'm never choosing the mugging quest. I would rather start robbing bigger stores. Make a name for myself.
As I think about never picking mugging the option disappears from my Quest Log and is replaced by a new quest option.
3. Rob a retail store: Steal at least $20k from a retail store. (200xp + 1xp per additional $100)
"Wait, my quests are customizable? I need to experiment with this."
I start trying to change out my other quests for an option that will help me design inventions. I spend several minutes thinking up different options. The Ready Eat Station starts dinging to signal that my meal is ready. As I grab my meal, "System, why can't I change my quests?"
Notice: only one quest may be changed per day.
"Oh. Well thank you."
Knowing that I won't be able to Change my quest until tomorrow, I instead begin looking through upgrades for my current equipment. I need to know what items are required to upgrade my equipment before I pick my next quest. I start with the Auto-Pick, looking through the first few upgrades.
Auto-Pick Untapped Potential:
1. Ranged Upgrade: Able to fire the Pick at locks from up to 15 feet away.
2. Key Maker: Create a temporary copy of the key paired with any lock.
3. Digitize: Adds a laser that can bypass up to a 4 digit code lock.
I select the digitize upgrade and prepare a list of the items I need. Ten 9volt batteries, two laser pointers and an i5 cpu or better. I write down what I need and contemplate what I want to make next.
I can add another upgrade to my fridge, or make something new. I guess I could do both actually. I'll start with the fridge.
I pull the Ever-Stocked Refrigerator into my inventory and check the offered upgrades.
Ever-Stocked Refrigerator Untapped Potential:
1. Better Meals: prepare a wider variety of meals.
2. Smart Box: Adds voice commands
3. More Fridge: Adds a perishable storage and retrieval system. Putting perishables in stasis while making the fridge bigger on the inside.
I select the More Fridge upgrade and compile the list of requirements. I will need, 1 commercial refrigerator, 1 computer with automated software installed and 1 gallon of liquid nitrogen.
I'll have to make the liquid nitrogen myself. I should just need an air compressor, air filter, coolant and a way to store it. Then, let my power do the rest. Maybe a building ac unit will work too. Something to test.
I write down my ideas and move on to planning new inventions. The first thing I begin brainstorming is the colored contact lenses. I open my design interface and input my idea for toggleable colored contacts. The System comes back with a list of requirements.
Permanent Toggleable Contact Lenses: Contact lenses with programmable toggles. Starting with color. Become affixed to the users eyes permanently.
1. Lens: 1 pack of prescription Contact lenses.
2. Color: 4 bottles each of red, yellow and blue food coloring.
3. Internal Toggle switch: 1 human eye, 1 human brain. (Allows the user to mentally use the lenses)
I pull my phone out, look up my local pharmacy and see if they do deliveries. I confirm that I can order from them online. I find the food coloring and add that to my cart. I then select a box of daily use Contact lenses and add them to my cart. I should check on what I need for my disguise before I check out.
I save my cart and put my phone back into my pocket. I open up my design interface and input my idea for a disguise. Adding an option to have it linked to my watch. I want to have a small mask covering my eyes, a black business suit, modified dress shoes and durable gloves. I receive a list of requirements for my disguise.
Swagalicious Disguise: A dapper suit that hides one's identity while not restricting any movement. Pairs with a wrist worn control unit. This suit has 3 modes; casual, business and heist. Casual mode: sneakers, shorts, t-shirt. Business mode: dress shoes, dark blue suit. Heist mode: dress shoes, black suit, gloves, mask.
1. Material: 5 full outfits including shoes, 1 business suit, 1 face mask, 1 pound of rubber bands.
2. Control unit: 1 watch, 1 gamestation controller
3. Neural Interface: Link with Permanent Toggleable Contact Lenses.
I go back to my online shopping, I look for the 2 items I'm missing. I find a 1 pound bag of rubber bands and add them to my cart. Finally, I add the gamestation controller to my cart and get ready to check out. Adding my details, I finalize my purchase and confirm delivery. The items will be here in less than an hour.
While I wait for my delivery, I look at what Creations I can make with the Winboxer .308. I go through my design interface and test different combinations. My main goal with the gun upgrades is for defense against other supers. I need something with either extreme stopping power or something to drain energy from supers. It would also need a switch for lethal and non-lethal. I input my ideas through the design interface and get 3 options from the System. One for draining, one that makes the bullets way more powerful and one that combines both. All three options have the non-lethal switch.
This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
I choose the more powerful bullets option. "I can upgrade it later, I can't even afford this one yet."
B. B. Gun: The Bigger Better Gun. Using enchanting technology, the bullets fired from this rifle are magical transformed into 20mm rounds. This weapon also features a non-lethal takedown mode, when this option is toggled the bullets are converted into mini taser rounds.
1. Main Body: 1 .308 rifle, 1 bar of gold (for magic conductivity)
2. Enchantment: 1 gold ring, 1 engraver, Super Energy (can be taken from other supers)
3. Non-lethal Switch: 1 taser gun, 1 cattle prod, 1 bag of zip-ties.
I save the design for later and close out of the interface. I look through the upgrades and designs and decide to choose the gas station quest. "I'll Rob the gas station for the industrial refrigerators, it'll be a good test run for my disguise. I need a way to subdue civilians too." I open my design interface yet again and come up with a quick way to subdue civilians.
Civi-Cuffs: Hand cuffs that work on unpowered individuals only.
1. 2 metal hangers.
I go to my closet and pull all 20 of my hangers into my inventory, I activate the Civi-Cuff design and create the design 10 times.
Civi-Cuffs
+ 5xp New Creation, + 15xp Repeat Creation, 5% Design, 5% Create.

After I finish creating the Civi-Cuffs, I open the Quest Log and select Rob a Gas Station III. I activate the quest and sit down to wait on my delivery.
30 minutes later there is a knock at my door. I hop off my couch and move to open my door. I greet the delivery worker and accept my items. Waving goodbye to the delivery worker, I close my door and pull the items into my inventory. I go throughout my apartment and pull all the materials I'll need to create both the contact lenses and the disguise. Once I collect everything, I open my interface and create both inventions.
Permanent Toggleable Contact Lenses: (Please lay down before equipping)

The Swagalicious Disguise is linked to my watch, so I pull the watch out of my inventory and wrap it around my right wrist. Once the watch is fastened to my wrist I inspect it. On the face of the watch there is a matte black screen. The screen is not displaying anything currently, on the right side of the watch are 3 new buttons. I select the top button and the screen flashes to life, displaying the word "Casual". I select the top button again, "Heist" is displayed on the screen. Pressing the top button again changes the display to show "Business". While Business is on the display I press the middle button.
My body feels a light tingling sensation pass over it as a dark blue business suit appears over me. I go to my bathroom to inspect the outfit. The suit consists of a dark blue jacket, an ocean blue button up, a black tie, dark blue dress pants and black dress shoes. I hop back and forth from one leg to the other, testing the maneuverability of the suit and the shoes. I feel that the suit itself doesn't restrict my movements in the slightest and the dress shoes feel like a pair of running shoes.
After I finish inspecting my new suit, I switch to the "Casual" option. I watch in the mirror as the suit seems to turn to smoke while a new set of clothes appear on my body. The transformation completes and I gaze upon my casual outfit. I am now wearing a dark grey t-shirt, black cargo shorts and a pair of sneakers with a check mark on the side.
Finally, I switch over to the "Heist" outfit. I watch as a scarlet red mask appears around my eyes, concealing my facial features while making my eyes seem to glow. The suit changes into a charcoal black with a dark grey button up underneath. The dress shoes change into a black pair of combat boots. A pair of gloves covers my hands, the gloves are the same dark grey as my shirt. I open and close my hands, testing how restricting the gloves are. I find that the only downside to the gloves is the slight reduction in my sense of touch.
I change back into the casual outfit and move to my bed. "I might as well go ahead and equip the Contact Lenses."
I sit on my bed and pull the Permanent Toggleable Contact Lenses out of my inventory. Two lenses are sitting in my hand. I carefully place them onto my eyes and lay down. I close my eyes and feel the process begin. Pain starts to radiate from my eyes. I let out an involuntary whimper as the pain skyrockets. It feels like a thousand needles are piercing my eyes over and over again. The worst agony I have ever experienced pierces my eyes for the next 5 minutes. Those 5 minutes feeling like an hour of pure torture.
As the process comes to a finish I open my eyes. The first thing I notice is that I can no longer feel the air on my eyes. I quickly climb out of bed and move to my mirror. I look into my reflection and mentally command my eye color to change to green. I watch as the change happens, it was instantaneous. One second my eyes were red and the next they are green. I look like a normal guy now.
Last thing I need to do today is get a new ID. While I am out I'll look around for a good target to rob.
Putting my thoughts into action, I pull out my phone and open Google maps. I note three gas stations on the way to the DMV. I plan a route to stop by all three gas stations. Finished with that I grab my car keys and prepare to leave. I open my apartment door and see police caution tape over Jerry’s door. "Yeah, I'm not risking it." I pull my refrigerator into my inventory and head outside. I take the stairs down to the first floor and walk to the parking lot.
I find my car parked two spaces to the right of the entrance. She is a normal car, a 4 door sedan in a neutral beige color. As I unlock the door and sit into the driver's seat, "You need to be upgraded babygirl, become my chariot of evil. Give you a disguise to rival my own!" My first stop is a FastTrip that's 3 minutes away.
I approach my first stop, noting that there is only one entrance and exit to the parking lot. I park my car and walk inside the convenience store. As I pass through the front door I look up and see a retractable metal gate. The inside of the store has a center counter with 2 cash registers, only one has an employee. To the left is the quick service stations for food and drink. To the right is the refrigerators and shelves stacked with food and drink. I go grab an energy drink from one of the fridges and bring it to the cashier. "Earlier today I saw an armored truck pass through here. What's that all about?"
Scanning my drink, "Oh, that's just Henry. He comes by every morning to collect any cash we have in the safe. Will that be all sir?"
"That's all I need. Thank you." I pay for my energy drink. "Have a good day!" I wave and begin heading to my car.
"Have a wonderful day sir!" The cashier waves goodbye.
I get into my car and start driving to my next target, a mom & pop gas station. 2 minutes later I arrive at my destination. The gas station is sitting on a corner lot with entrances and exits from every direction. I park my car at one of the pumps and head inside the store. The store only has windows on the front, each window has metal bars over them. The front door is a single glass door with metal bars over it. I enter the store and see that it is tiny on the inside. There are only 2 fridges with 2 doors each, not enough for my goals.
Not needing anything more I walk up to the cashier. "$5 on pump 3."
"Will that be all sir?"
"That'll be all, thank you."
I leave the store and put the gas into my car. I drive 5 minutes to the next gas station. I arrive at a rundown looking BP. I park my car and walk inside. The interior of the BP doesn’t even have shelves. The snacks are sitting in cardboard boxes stacked in the middle of the store. There are at least four 3 door fridges along the back wall. There is a single cash register to the left, the cashier manning it is sound asleep. I approach the cashier quietly and look around for any cameras. I do not see any cameras and the cashier is still asleep. I quietly sneak around the counter and look for a safe. I see a small safe with a key lock on the front. The safe is just sitting on the floor next to the cashier. I quietly and quickly move the safe into my inventory. The cashier stays asleep through the entire encounter. I leave the store and hop into my car.
I drive a few miles out of the way from my next destination and pick a spot on the side of the road to stop. I pull the safe and the Auto-Pick out of my inventory, placing the safe into my passenger seat. I unlock the safe using my Auto-Pick and open the door. The safe has an unorganized pile of cash sitting inside. "I don't want to count all that. Let's see if my inventory has a separate storage for money." I pull the cash into my inventory and open my interface. On the top right, above my inventory grid is a new box. The new box has "Wallet" above it. Selecting the wallet, a new grid appears. In the new grid is the cash I just deposited, showing 5 filled grids. One grid each for $1, $5, $10, $20 and $100 bills. There is a number to the right of the grid displaying the total amount of cash in the wallet, "$277".
I close out my inventory and begin wiping down the safe. "Don't want to leave any finger prints."
After I finish cleaning the evidence off the safe I toss it out my window and start driving to the DMV. 8 minutes later I arrive at my destination. I park the car and open my glove compartment, grabbing the title and registration. I hop out of my car, lock the doors and head inside. In the main entrance to the DMV there are 2 doors, one reads "Civilian Affairs" and the other reads "Super Affairs". I walk through the Super Affairs door into an empty lobby. I walk up to the only station in the room and begin speaking to the lady behind the desk.
"I need to register my new identity and put my car into my new name."
"Fill out these forms." She handed me a stack of paperwork to go through.
I filled out my paperwork and handed it to the lady. She put the stack of paper into a machine that began to scan the documents. "Stand here" she commanded, I moved to where she indicated. "Look here" she pointed at a camera, i looked into the camera with a nuetral expression. She uploaded the picture to the machine behind her. Upon completion, the machine let out a soft ding. The lady turned around and grabbed a small card and the new title and registration for my car from the machine. She handed me the card and the papers, "Have a good day." She then left for the back office before I could respond.
I took my new ID, the new papers and left the building. I got back into my car and began driving home. "Being a super has its perks. That might have been the easiest and fastest DMV experience ever."
Once I arrive back at my apartment, I go to my bedroom and find a notebook. I head back to my couch, take a seat and get ready to plan my heist of the gas station.
