Chapter 4 - ANNND Goodbye To Julia

[ Oliver, Lisa, Kuro VS Julia Everild]

I put my fists up and took my fighting stance. I didn’t have any sort of training in martial arts, but I was confident I could take on a vampire if it was a woman. Then again, this woman did just launch Lisa across the room.

Speaking of, she was still lying face down on the ground. So, she wasn’t going to be any help.

And Oliver, he was nowhere to be seen. My guess was that he took advantage of the chaos and hid. I don’t blame him.

It was just me.

I moved my shoulder to listen it up, despite the pain.

‘Here we go.’

Julia’s wicked laughter echoed throughout the cathedral.

She sprinted in my direction; with a speed my eyes could barely keep up with.

“It’s just you and me, pretty boy!”

Her pale-white hands reached out for me, but I leaned back, narrowly avoiding her grasp. In return, I bashed my forehead into her nose, her blood leaving behind a smear.

“Ooh..” she stumbled back, holding her face, “This is why we killed off the humans in this world...No such thing as a gentleman among you.”

As she moved her hands away from her face, she revealed a dark, twisted expression.

Her figure vanished into a cloud of mist, leaving behind not even the slightest trace. My eyes scanned the room left to right but, she still nowhere to be seen.

“Surpise, handsome.”

A pair of pale arms wrapped around me from behind, a sharp set of fangs synk into my neck.

My body froze up as if I was paralyzed. All i could do was stand there and let it happen.

The sensation of Julia’s lips, suckling the blood from my neck, making me weaker and weaker.

I fell down to my knees and Julia released her fangs off my neck. Her graceful steps brought her to stand in front of me.

My limps trembled every time I tried to move. I could just barley manage to raise my chin to look up at her.

“Revenge time.” she smiled.

She leaned back, charging up for something. And I knew exactly what she was going to do. She was going to headbutt me, the same as I did to her.

I waited.

As soon as she flung her forehead at me, I met with equal force. My elbow bashed into the center of her face.

[Amazing Counter! Her own momentum came back and hit her in the face. That’s gotta hurt!]

In a daze, she was probably seeing stars. I took advantage of the moment and lifted Lisa sledgehammer from the ground.

I felt bad for the amount of pain coming for this vampire.

Full force, I dashed across the room with the sledgehammer at my side. And with an upward swung, connected with the bottom of her jaw.

CLINK!

The sheer force knocked her a couple feet into the air, but her she landed back on balance, her feet gently touching down.

Her eyes met mine, and she shot a glare into my soul. A glare that looked full of resentment and disgust.

“Enough games!”

Her figured flickered across the room, and soon enough she had me lifted by the throat. Her hands were feminine but had the strength of a gorilla. A grip that was impossible to free myself from. No matter how hard I squirmed.

She hurled me into the air then threw a powerful knee into my stomach!

BMP!

The force threw me back into the air. I landed flat on my back. My body vibrated, almost like I was hit with the entire force of a bus. Funny enough, my limbs hadn’t given out yet.

Staggering on balance, my wrist wiped the blood from my lips.

“Hmm.” Julia tilted her head, “I will say. Impressive that you're not dead yet. Maybe this one will do the trick.”

A single kick swiped across my face, hitting me so hard that everything went white for a few moments. When my vision returned, I was sitting up against a pillar. Only able to watch as the vampire walked in my direction. A darkness in her eyes as she lifted her fist back.

I could just sense it from the way her arm tensed up. This was the killing blow. And I was unable to move in time to avoid it.

Even so, my mind couldn’t help but wonder about the aftermath.

Would my head be taken clean off?. Or would it explode like a soda can under pressure.

I didn’t know, but I closed my eyes.

“Shit.” I muttered.

“I refuse to be useless any longer.” Oliver’s voice cried out.

I don’t know where he was hiding, but here he was. He ran over, as fast as his legs could bring him here.

“I’ll be the one to end this!” his manchette sliced through the air, but the swing came to a sudden stop.

A pale hand, wrapped around the blade. Her reaction speed was unreal...even with her back turned, she still moved fast enough to react.

The blade of the manchette crumbled from Julia's grip, into steel shard.

Fear washed over Oliver’s face. His eyes widened, like someone who’s realized they’ve made a grave mistake.

Julia’s hands grabbed the sides of his head. Then with a violent tug, Oliver’s head was twisted off. His body thumped over, like a ragdoll. Red droplets fell from his head as it was held into the air between Julia’s hands. As if it were a trophy. Her trophy.

Once she was bored of looking at it, she launched it across the room, where it splattered against the wall.

SPLAT!

I was too stunned to speak...I didn’t know him for long... but seeing someone you were just talking to end up headless isn’t something that’s easy on the mind. Not even mentioning what she did after....

I sat there, while Host Maximina's voice spread the news of this first elimination.

[JUST LIKE THAT. We have our first elimination. Goodbye to the contestant ranked at ninety-five. Oliver Hendrick. WHAT a way to go. That’s all I will say for that one]

I could almost feel the cameras zoom in on me as I used the wall to pull myself back on balance.

[I can’t tell you how many times we’ve seen him fall today. But HELL, I can’t tell you how many times we've seen him get back up. But if he’s not careful, the next one just might leave him in the grave. Or splattered against a fucking wall like that last guy.]

For the last time, the vampire set her sights on me.

“Let’s put an end to this now.”

Poof! Into a cloud of mist, her presence disappeared from sight. But the same trick wasn’t going to work twice. Out of my peripheral view, I could see her coming from behind, her arms opened wide to grapple me.

I leaped to the side. She rushed past and caught an armful of the air instead. But now there was an opening for me to strike.

Every muscle in my forearm flexed, and every vein coursed with blood. I pulled my arm back, charging up.

FWSH!

My fist shot forward like a cannon, my knuckles blasted into the side of the side of her face. An impact so loud it sounded like a gunshot. Jula's face smashed against the ground.

Though it didn’t keep her down for long, the outcome became clear when she stood back up. Her head wobbled side to side, her neck no longer had the strength to support it.

Poor Julia...

Not really.

She staggered around, holding her head while she wore a look of confusion. She could no longer fight.

[AND, it looks like our sweet vampire woman is unable to go any further. Looks like the victor is clear. Now all he has to do is finish the lady off. Just don’t take that last line out of context.]

From the sounds of it, I was going to rack up some serious points with this one.

With the sledgehammer in my hands, I approached her.

Oliver got eliminated in the process of saving me. The least I could do was avenge him, as good as I could.

I bashed the hammer into Julia’s gut, dropping her to her knees.

[With her face exposed, this is a recipe for disaster. And I think we’d all love to see a bit of that here.]

I lifted the sledgehammer one more time, holding it similar to how I would hold a baseball bat. Then with a good swing, my goal was a homerun.

Her skull shattered into bone fragments. Her entire had blew into chunks, brains and raspberry syrup raining down with a mist.

[And goodBYEEE Miss Everild! ]
