As I and Flora enter the examination room, the exam has already begun and teachers were calling out examinees to prepare themselves to fight.

A short person came to step up to the stage to prepare to fight. He appears to be a dwarf but he was rather short even by dwarf's standard. He has a lot of dwarven features, short, big nose, big ears and muscular. His skin was blackened by his time in the mines but overall he looked fierce and rather powerful.

-'Let the exam begin!'

Johndf took out his pickaxe and charge at the examiner. The examiner blocks it easily and forces him back using his sword. As they were fighting I ask Flora some questions since this was technically the first official match that I had ever watched. Sure I had some experience from sparring with my grandpa but we always fought like barbaric and didn't use any techniques. This helps me be unpredictable and to predict my opponent's next move but it uses a lot of Ma and energy.

-'How did he make his pickaxe appear out of nowhere?'

-Look at his finger. Can you see the ring? That ring is a dimension ring that can store a lot of stuff in another dimension. They aren't rare but they are quite expensive.

-'Oh that's why I never saw one before ''My family is very poor' 'We are lucky that we have enough to send me here'

-'I could ask my father to pay for you since you save me from those humans'

My eyes lit up when she said those magical words.

-'Really???' 'Thank you!!!'

-'But....', she started, 'you must come to pass this exam first and come with me to meet my father'

-'The exam part is quite easy but a meeting with the king?' 'I'm scared that I will embarrass you since I didn't learn how to act in front of nobilities', I explain.

-'Aren't you talking with to princess right now?'

-'Right that is a valid point...'

-'I will take that as a yes' 'Meet me after your exam in front of the school's gate'

Before I can complain Johndf's fight has stopped and he has failed the exam.

-'Flora Veal', said the teacher, 'prepare yourself'

-'Oopp looks like it's my turn to shine' 'Wish me luck'

-'Flora wait....'

She was already halfway to the stage.

-'Let the exam begin!'

Flora charges in with her sword and with a wind spell pushing her to make her faster. When she was near the examiner, she jump and tried to cut him in half. He dodge Flora's slash and tried to sulker punch her back. Using the same wind magic, the elf dodge the attack and some kinds of vines came out from her sword to grab onto the examiner. He fail to dodge the elf attack and had been tied up.

-'FLORA VEAL HAS PASSED HER EXAM', cried one of the teachers.

Flora let the examiner go and went back to her seat.

-'NEXT Goard Nearm'

-'Look like it's my turn but when I get back, I have a lot of questions for you' ,I said to the elf that had clearly been hiding some information from me.

-'I'll look forward to it', she said with a smile.

I step up to the stage.

-'No weapons?', ask the examiner.

-'Not enough money to buy a decent sword so prefer using this one', I said while making a sword using a metal spell and earth spell.

-'Impressive' 'You are a dual Elementalist'

-'no I'm not', I said while making my sword fill with flames from one side and the other side fill with water using fire and a water spell. 'I made these spells myself' 'Hope you like it'

I also summon wind to lift me and lightning to make me quicker. The examiner is staring at me with wide-open eyes.

-'No...No...No' 'It can't be'

-'Shall we begin?', I ask the examiner.

-'Right' 'Let the exam begin!'

The examiner looks as if he had fought a few hundred battles but one thing for sure is that he isn't good at defending himself after an attack. My best bet was to let him charge in first and then use a move difficult to defend. Basically, I will be using the same tactic that Flora used. My sword is shorter and more suitable for close combat compared to his big two-hand longsword. He charges at me and I barely dodge his attack using a wind spell to push me to his side. I was going to slam the back of my sword into his back but he block it too quickly for someone using a longsword. He seems to be more skilled than I am at sword fighting so I sacrifice my weapon to get his weapon out of his hand. At least that was what I was planning to do but I fail to make him drop his sword and I lost mine. I quickly make him back away using a combination of fire and lightning spells. The only way to win is to stay back and use magic to defeat him but that can easily use all of my Ma inside my core. The other option is to charge in and beat him with speed. Using a combination of wind and lightning spells, I charge in with a phenomenal speed. He tried to slash me but I jumped out of the way and went behind him and I was planning to finish him off with a strong kick but he grab onto my leg. I use a fire spell on him to let me go and I finally get a hit on him.

-'Goard Nearm has passed'

I went back to my seat after picking up my sword

-'That was a really good match', said Flora

-'Thank you', I replied, 'but I nearly lost'

-'At least now you know what you need to do'

-'Yeah train myself in both magic and sword fighting

She proceeded to punch me in my guts.

-'What was that for', I demanded angrily.

-'To remind you that you still need to come to my house to see my dad'

-'Right yeah I almost forgot about that....'

-'I think you might be the only person in the world to forget an invitation from a princess'

-'Now shall we talk about what happened during your exam princess?' 'You certainly don't look weak and you are much stronger than those who were bullying you'

-'Hhmmm you're right but I can't tell you why I was pretending to be weak'

-'I won't pry but with that aside, you seem to be able to use both wind and earth magic'

-'No, I can't only use wind magic'

-'What about the vines you use during the fight?'

-'Not only that you ignore the existence of dimension rings but also the great elven sword Eolwda', she stated, 'You are really stupid'

-'Stop insulting me and please tell me more about your sword Eo-thing', I ordered, 'I'm very curious now'

-'Well this sword was made by the best blacksmith in the elven kingdom' 'It was infused with the Ma core of a strong beast that was capable to use earth magic or more precisely it can control vines' 'This sword becomes stronger each time I defeated an enemy'

-'Wow how did you get it?'

-'My father gave it to me', she said simply.

-'You might be the only one in the world to be able to say that about a sword that is worth probably more than my life'

-'Nonsense, you can use 6 elemental magic, a feat that no one has ever been able to do'

As we were talking the last of the examinees finish his fight and people were starting to leave.

-' All of those who has passed will return for the opening ceremonies in 6 months, see you guys then '

-'We should leave ', the elf princess said, 'Come on, my carriage is waiting outside!'
